This would have the potential to alienate some players (again ^^), which is certainly not good for business. ;) o7
Yes right on arrival. I love the ship looks. I also want to spent money on ED to ensure server and development costs are covered. I am totally not PvP but the P Mk2 looks awesome and i just want it in my collection. I like how Frontier Development carefully works around the Pay2Win Issue. Nice Job so far.
Im surprised at the very limited module slots. Though an extra C3 hard point will be game changing is shes fast. I wonder what her max will be with G5 dirty drag drives. If shes fast she will probably become my go to AX ship.
Hearing the guardian equipment still needs unlocks for the non-prebuilt ships is reassuring. It demonstrates they acknowledge that a slippery slope exists. Keep doing that, FDev.
It looks amazing and indeed seems to be more PvP oriented in the slots and hardpoints! Very excited for this to hit the shelves (both ARX and ingame). It'll be a perfect BGS gunboat that's ready for PvP should your faction's enemies try to Openly interfere.
Saw Ricardos' stream earlier and it seems the jump range might be even higher by a slight margin. Not sure if it was engineered though since he was hovering over FSD's in the outfitting hsop.
@@TheSlayer117 The new SCO FSDs are about 10-15% better than the old equivalents, without any engineering. E.g. 5A SCO vs 5A. Everyone is going to be replacing all their engineered A-rated FSDs if they want max range ... and as a bonus you get SCO on top, so that's basically going to be a feature on all ships, not 'which one needs SCO?'
So, the Python mk II added another large hardpoint, but nerfed the power distributor as well? Ship no longer has the distributor to power that extra hardpoint, so it's a DPS loss.
Funny they should say C-version of SCO drive WILL be available next week while I have them all already since a week ago, being a viilager A (i.e. not a partner). Is that some kind of error? Why mention something will be when it already is?
Love the 'these initial ships on the Arx store are definitely not pay-to-win'', followed by a review of a ship that definitely looks like an attempt at a pay-to-win ship. Getting some mixed messages here.
The Type 8 must, I repeat must, be zero emissions and fully cloaked with a zero cargo capacity. I mean, all Type 8s over the past ten years have followed this trend. I’ll be right put out if that changes. 🤪
I want to get into Elite or SC. Is it possible to walk around your ship in elite ? Also does anyone know the depth at which you can interact with your ship in SC / Ed ? Thanks in advance ❤
Unfortunately no ship interiors in Elite at the moment. Star citizen has a lot going on in terms of interactions but it’s all to the detriment of the stability and performance of the game. Think of Elite as a game and Star citizen as more of a tech demo. It’s cool to jump into Star citizen from time to time and I’d imagine you could get into it if you had the pure determination or the right people to help out. But to me, Elite just feels more complete. Elite seems to have better flight mechanics as well as better ship upgrade mechanics. Elite has a whole galaxy with an entire bubble of population with simulated superpowers, factions, economies, etc. Star citizen has a single star system. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun but like I said, Elite feels like a complete game. Plus, the entry to get into S.C. is like $45 I think? Elite and the odyssey expansion can be bought on G2A for like $15.
What a beautiful ship, loving this new focus on Elite, after the Thargoid war it feels like we are getting more stuff and hopefully these new ships will bring in some cash. You could buy a meta pvp ship for arx but you can't buy the skill needed to be good at pvp. Let's hope haulers get some new builds too.
They are really loading up the early access for the Python Mk2 and making it look very appealing for people, like me, that love special items. I original said I would just wait, but if the ship kit and paint job are unique only to the early access and will not be available anymore, I might consider getting it.
I don't think the livery and ship kit will be unique to early access buyers. I am pretty sure that the unique and special feature is the 5A SCO FSD rather then the 5C SCO FSD.
I would love to have chieftan for its canopy view and agillity but in mk2 for better jump range :D Btw, that New Python looks really cool. I didnt like view from its older version cockpit

Of course I'll be looking at the Mk II, maybe even a pre-August purchase with in-game credits, but definitely not the pre-engineered kits.. Bring on the Krait Mk III !!
I would love for other less used ships to have the same improvement on the sco drive. Ships like the Diamondback Scout or Asp Scout as their names make it sound like reconnaissance ships. Theyre names insinuating they're meant to be in and out quick.

Looking forward to get my hands on the new Python 2.0, though I am no PvP player, from what was shared here, it will be a perfect fit for my RP character ingame, I was expecting something like being able to stable flight with the supercruise overcharged FSD , also looking forward to see how that looks like and how much more usable it will be!
Question to @TheBuurPit if you buy these ships, are they available if you reset the game?
-> Question regarding the Python MKII Stellar:
It appears there is an A-rated SCO FSD fitted.
Are we going to get these in the game as unlocks or pay-materials-2-buy?
.... Titan Drive Components, anyone? ;)
If not, this would actually be pay-walling content.
This would have the potential to alienate some players (again ^^), which is certainly not good for business. ;)
o7
Yeah if the A rated SCO drives are only for the ARX bought ships then its gonna suck
The python mk2 looks like a freakin badass! Can't wait to try this ship!!
Amazing review! But what does the new Python look like from the inside?
Ah I found that moment. Missed it the first time I watched:)
Hum pay walling early access to the python mk2 with it's insane fire power looks like pay to win
Maybe fdev needs the Tarkov treatment?
Very likely going to get the new Python MK2; it's gorgeous!
Build it to be a silent/cold running stealth ship, then the PP and distro should be able to handle it. 🤔
FYI @TheBuurPit I think the Python MK2 has only 2 size 1 Optional, as you can't remove the Advanced Planetary Approach Suite :(
An "Imperial Anaconda" would be great.
It looks amazing and indeed seems to be more PvP oriented in the slots and hardpoints! Very excited for this to hit the shelves (both ARX and ingame). It'll be a perfect BGS gunboat that's ready for PvP should your faction's enemies try to Openly interfere.
Did you notice your python stellar came with an A class SCO allowing full range not just speed?
Wait really? Thats awesome
Can we get verification of this? If so, I'm about to drop some ARX!
Everyone is going to be replacing all their engineered A-rated FSDs if they want max range ... and as a bonus you get SCO on top, so that's basically going to be a feature on all ships, not 'which one needs SCO?'
the writing on these videos is always phenomenal! the army knife analogy made me laugh outloud
I feel better about the jump starters with how they're handled here. I just hope it stays the same.
Very pretty ship! Shame that the regular unlock of the Python MKII doesn't come with a unique paint job to show that you backed early access!
Love the 'these initial ships on the Arx store are definitely not pay-to-win'', followed by a review of a ship that definitely looks like an attempt at a pay-to-win ship. Getting some mixed messages here.
Just because the ship is good doesn’t mean the pilot is good.
This is my new Titan Bomber come May 7th...😂
I wonder if the Python Mark II would make a good Titan Killer build.
The Type 8 must, I repeat must, be zero emissions and fully cloaked with a zero cargo capacity. I mean, all Type 8s over the past ten years have followed this trend. I’ll be right put out if that changes. 🤪
Wait! So next week we're going to be able to engineer SCO frame shift drives?! Also they're going to add A rated ones?!
Is that a python mk2 ship kit ? Or does it look like that from default?
Haha Keen to try out… space engineers
I would like the Type 8 to be optimised for mining.
Sounds like a nice ship for Powerplay 2.0
With the Python Mk. II coming out, I really really hope that FDev is finally consistently listening to their playerbase.
It literally looks like a fighter jet, I’m definitely waiting for it’s release.
I would love to have chieftan for its canopy view and agillity but in mk2 for better jump range :D
Btw, that New Python looks really cool. I didnt like view from its older version cockpit
ok but where to find the real final Outfitting for the red 33000ARX. there is no details wwhat a shame on frontier
Don't know how many new players will be attracted to these ships, but I know a lot of the "mature" player base will be - for better or worse..
Theyre names insinuating they're meant to be in and out quick.
really wish we could have that third person view in game
Not gonna lie, the mk2 is gorgeous. Great loadout, great options, 4 large and 2 medium weapon slots... I need it.
