- Within the state of Tamil Nadu in India, is Auroville...an experimental city founded in the 1960s. In this episode we travel and stay in Auroville and see what it's like.
In this video we stay at two different guesthouses (will leave links below) and went to the incredible Sadhana Forest. All of this on our India travels on our Auto Rickshaw named Pete #Auroville #IncredibleIndia

Our overall plan in India is to travel via tuk tuk from the South to North (if it's possible?) The next leg of our journey is to travel from Auroville to the most southerly point of India and Tamil Nadu, from there we will go north probably through Kerala

We have only just arrived in India, after a crazy time back home doing van life and living full time in our camper van for two years in the UK. But after some serious engine problems that cost us a fortune, we came to India on a mission to honour Liam's Grandad's legacy who sadly died earlier this year. With the inheritance money Liam got from that, we bought the tuk tuk and named it after Liam's Grandad.

Loving this series , you are showing us parts of the country we’d never normally get to see , I don’t know if it’s just me but you both seem more relaxed/chilled out in your little rickshaw than you do driving around the UK , or is it the fact that you obviously love India. Paul yes.... Liam and Janine seem happy and relaxed in India don't they. Iv just returned to the UK from India after doing a 3 year solo trip there!!!! I was slimmer, more relaxed and looked more vibrant on my India trip. Now I'm travelling in the uk and I'm certainly not that way anymore hahahaha. 😀 Iv swapped places with Liam and Janine. Whilst they were vlogging the UK I was vlogging India. Now they are vlogging India and I'm vlogging the UK lol 😀

India looks chaotic from outside but the more you dig inside the more gems you will discover…the only thing we need to work on is stop throwing rubbish on roads…the garbage in the beach made me sad…we are definitely working on it…behavioural change of habits which are been practiced since decades takes time but I see a new India in next 20 years….people are becoming conscious nowadays…

c) Goa, Kerala, Gokarna.
2. For Dessert Palaces ---> Rajasthan's Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Pushkar. Jaisalmer offers (overnight dessert stay, bonfire under moonlit sky/ camel safari).
3. For Snowy Himalayan Mountains ---> Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, Ladhak, Leh, Nubra valley, Tso moriri, Pagong lake, Tawang, Manali-Sissu, Spiti valley, Sikkim - Nathu la pass, Gurudongmar lake, Lachung, Tsomgo lake/Changu lake, Yumthang Valley, Mcleodganj/Dharamshala, Kashmir (snows in winter).

It's lovely to be hanging out in India again, with you. I'd heard about Auroville for years. Established in the late 60s i think. Some lovely moments (the red brigade photo shoot on the beach), the plant based community in the forest. Liam made the journey from now on sound like the real adventure is about to begin. What excites me is the fact that they are touring it all. I keep asking if they have any idea how long they wlll be staying in India 🇮🇳, no response but am still waiting to hear . As they approach Andra and Uttrah Pradesh , is so interesting , because their are people living in Forests the Government is unaware of. They tend to be the Bandera Gypsies there (unsure of spelling ) they are very dark and bang drums 🪘 and tambourines etc. They live deep in the forest. As you go through India you notice how the Gypsies (origin to Essau/Edomites transmigrated via Egypt to India etc especially, due to the Trade Routes.). Yet they have assimilated and are diverse. eg in Gudjerat there are many Jats of smaller proportions, whereas the Lamani Gypsies are extremely tall and slender , they live in the Mountains ⛰. Wearing expensive gold coins as Jewellery. The Kumbis don’t wear clothes and live on an island they are protected. As you venture nearer to Kashmir there are Cobra Gypsies and are snake charmers etc. At this time of year Indians come from throughout India to Goa to trade . Many areas have their own specialist Trades. Such as sewing, furniture and lamps etc hand engraved. Copper and brass to make eg Singing bowls. Spices etc etc it’s endless but it’s Particularist. I think India 🇮🇳 is one of the most interesting Countries. Whether they live near the sea as Sea Gypsies or whatever.

India is the root civilization where Hinduism is based on science and has most of the answers to modern science questions.
Most advanced language in the world i.e Sanskrit where there is no ambiguity and can readily be used as the language of the robots and science.

@@TheMinimalistTherapist this is a very interesting question indeed. I would have done two things differently.....
1 I would have moved around alot more like Liam and Janine are doing. Staying in one place for too long is not safe for the solo traveller as you are easily targeted in a small community.
2 I would have tried alot harder to get more consistent online work as I ran out of money too often!
My experience was pretty unique I guess as I was in India before, during and after the pandemic.

One big problem is that British media is extremely Indophobic and this Indophobia is rooted in British intelligentsia. The foundation of British intellectual thought against India was laid by James Mill in his book History of British India. He never visited India and wrote a book demeaning the natives of India calling them Hindoos with a oo. Then subsequently many British intellectuals misunderstood India and developed negative perception towards it. So they had no remorse for famines, Jallianwallah Bagh Massacre or Criminal Tribes Act in India.
Winston Churchill who was influenced by these intellectuals believed that if the British left India then it would be like Yugoslavia of the 1990s. However even he was wrong.
This deep rooted Indophobia even extends in 2023 when India has become a multiethnic, multicultural democracy and is one of the most dynamic and happening countries currently in the world.

If you are coming to India, try to search and visit places like Dharamsala, Shimla , Nainital , Spiti Valley , Leh , Gangtok , Darjeeling , Humpi , Goa , coorg , munnar , Dhanushkodi . These places are my recommendations , rest is your wish . I didn't recommend places like Delhi , Mumbai , Agra , Kolkata , Jaipur because those cities are crowded , overpopulated and pollution is high , also too many scammers .

I love India, had been going back every year since living in Pondy and Auroville in the 90s. Then Covid hit, so haven’t been back for Too Long ! You had me in tears seeing Auroville again.

Absolutely brilliant loving this so much really want to go to everywhere you have been it's just so fascinating.and interesting. You guys are just lovely. And all the people in red on the beach with you what fun. Can't wait for next one it might be cheeky but would you be able to say how much it cos to get to India and how much the food is. Whilst visiting Pondicherry on business, my client took me to Auroville for the day. We were able to go in to Matrimadir which was the most surreal and incredible experience ever. Such a shame you weren't able to go in.
