Alan's face when the ladies connect without the lag! Lol. Superior satire here and at it's best.
??
It is best.
*its best
This is genius, such a simple gag but they got so much out of it. More humor in this 3min clip than most comedy half hour sitcoms.
😂 I watched This on tv originally it's brilliant.
Bang on. Exactly how I felt!
Absolutely bang on. Sheer genius.
To be fair Lolly Adefope (Ruth Dugan) plays this so well too!
She’s ruddy bloody brilliant 😆
Bit OTT
Alan always improves with rewatching..
Correct.
A bit like reading 'Bravo Two Zero'.
`My wife is a lecturer.`
Alan : `aren`t they all`
Ruth is the greatest villain of recent times
yeh. I think that's it.
as much as Partridge is just a disgusting, racist, misogynist, boorish, narcissistic, unbearable human being, somehow Ruth feels even more villainous. cold as ice with an axe to grind. amazing character
@@gloverelaxis hey! Think you're being far too harsh on Alan. He's certainly not racist, but he is a bit narcissistic and socialy awkward. I really wouldn't describe him as evil in the traditional sense, his character is a lot more layered than that.
@@gloverelaxis You are definitely not and never have been a Partridge fan. So much bile towards a comedy character.
More a foil than villain, but yeah
Lolly Adefope has to be commended for this. She's great as Ruth. Good casting.
She (ruth) is the devil lol
calm down she's ok
She is meh.
Not really. Forgettable. A lot of wasted opportunities.
"I thought you were having a stroke there". Lovely stuff!
@Coronavirus Plushie Needless to say, you had the last laugh.
Crying with laughter at this ! Absolutely so funny 😂
Me too!😂😂
Alan and Ruths rivalry is great.
i love that moment when Alan says his mother made pies without putting any love in them, and Jenny turns with that look to the camera like she's trying to hide her horror and then Alan turns to look directly into the camera and he knows he's made a mistake and he doesn't hide the horror in his eyes
I live the fact the Ruth has no issues whatsoever with delay when talking to Jenny and agrees with everything she says.
Coogan is almost scientific when it comes to comedic timing, superb
The frustration on Alan at 1:42 had me crying
thats one of the very best partridge ive ever seen....and the ending hahahah
That is first class banter, it really is.
Lolly Adefope’s timing is impeccable.
Are you implying that black people aren’t good time keepers? I’ve got a racist over here, boys!!!
@@MI2Dragon86 😂😂😂
his name is Alan
Not really.
Thanks for your insight.
The dynamic between these 2 so classic
Greatest British comedy character of all time.
Bhaha! Love how Jenny and reporter immediately just start going back and forth with zero delay whatsoever😆 BRILLIANT
This clip is brilliant 😂😂
Alan's mom's pie is the culinary equivalent of Susan singing
Omg i love this, Ruth 🤣
There are many ways of saying or conveying the phrase "Get it right up ye". This is one of the most amusing!!
3 really talented people
I love the delay!!Love Alan xx
I’m glad they got the delay fixed by the end of the segment
I guess they moved the microphones a little closer.
The”Ignore the box thing” was the funniest thing I’ve heard for years and years 👍🏻
lolly is brilliant!
VeryVery clever humour...........................................
Completely inspired
nice one Steve spot on.
So refreshing to see a really funny woman..
This Time is the best of Partridge
SBC and this guy are the most creative comics of our time 👏🏼👏🏼
The Philippines joke creased me!!!!!! Too real too real 🤣
so GOOD
Sheer brilliance!
Brilliant
Bloody hell. I laughed so much at this. Such a simple joke.
This is such a stupid regular bit on the show, and yet every time I hear the name "Ruth Duggan" I settle in for a true battle of wits. Amazing how they've managed to stretch this simple concept and keep it funny. Lovely stuff.
The character Alan Partridge reminds me of Garry Mcdonald's character Norman Gunston in the 70's. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the turned up at a press conference in the states and ask questions.
Love this so much
Brilliant 👍
I didn't really hit off with This Time in general, but the bits with Ruth thwarting Alan every time are vintage
Re-run them, they improve with age.
I don't think she thwarts him EVERY time. There's once or twice where Alan emerges victorious ... in his mind at least.
I'd say it's up there with the best of Partridge
@@kurisensei now THATS funny
@@videostore3544 Definitely. I enjoyed the revamped start when Alan spruces or spunks up an opening.
brilliant
Fat back call back! "You don't want to see me naked"
The microagressions between Alan and Ruth are GOLDEN. I have worked with someone like Alan, I have been Ruth. #TeamRuth
The face of ‘why didn’t she have a delay??’😂
That was so witty (pardon) and (what) funny.
Fantastic. She hates Alan so much!
Every Zoom call over the last 18 months
😂😂
God that’s good!
1:12 It looks like Susannah was actually trying not to laugh lol not just as Jenny.
Shes like a guest on good morning Britain discussing "are Sunday roasts racist?"
😂😂😂
It's like trying have a video chat with someone in the Philippines...
... or bloody anywhere in the world...
I missed that joke the first time I watched it
What no time delay for Ruth and Jenny then?
Had a bit of a binge on Alam Partridge - have to say I prefer the maturer Alan , esp in This Time. Lolly is exceptional as always
Alam?
'well tell us about it and give us a long answer...'
Brilliant! 😂
great stuff
Ignore the box thing
He gets her good in the new series
❤
0:07 - "I thought you were having a stroke" (places hand on knee ....) ....... 00:24 - "Now you're having a stroke."
I love my mum, but.. hahahaha
Haha ooo that's funny
There are people like her everywhere, that’s the tragedy The world would be a nicer place with more folk like Partridge. 🤣👊🤡
I think you may have missed the point of like, the entirety of the character
i hope you're joking. her character exposes his flaws and insecurities. she isn't a bad person.
0:11 DERES MORE TO AMERICA…DEN DIS.
Ruth is cute 😍
Very cute, I must say.
I watch this show because I admire Jennie's outstanding professionalism
I admire Jenny too
Stunning and brave. This isn't real.
Brown paper bags with no-handles? We progressed to having trees and ditches full of plastic bags long ago Alan.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..How would Alan survive in the this
Wokester world???
Were finding out🤣🤣🤣
...what?
Aww, bless - the GBN loon tried to string a coherent sentence together but thinks that "the this" made sense.
Alan's been on webcam to ladyboys in the Philippines.
Ah I get it now, I missed that. He doesn't find them attractive just fascinating from a journalistic point of view.
That's where he invented the drink
Oooohhh ladyboys
Of all his work, I thought that series was the best one. The one where he was living in a caravan next to his new house seemed to lose its way towards the end.
"She made bhaaad phiiiiees"
The acting talent involved in doing something this complex is off the scale
This is very two ronnies
😂😂😂😂😂
It’s funny because every time Alan says something wrong.
Top drawer entertainment...
No... Not Alan's top drawer...that was probably a totally different type of entertainment
I can still see the look on Lynn’s face when she slid open the draw!!! 😂
Alan's big pocket
🤣🤣🤣
Two Ronnies mastermind sketch
A nice tribute to the two Ronnies.
@Meadow Pinkelle No tribute, Coogan has shown no influence from the two Ronnies in any previous performances. The figure of Partridge after many decades, is a well rounded character and has shown no influence by the Two Ronnies, therefore this is a tribute to the sketches performed by the two Ronnies. On the other hand we can see that Ricky Gervais has been INFLUENCED by Laurel and Hardy by his continuing glances at the camera. There is a difference and I’m surprised you picked up on this having such little knowledge of nuances. Maybe you just had to write something? No matter how banal.
Yes, I got that. Reminiscent of the Mastermind sketch.
@@thetruth156real3 yes it's very two ronnies actually. you would have to be extremely stupid to not see that.
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 And yet you didn’t until I brought it to your attention, nice of you to admit your a complete Buffoon.😂😂😂👍
So Alan was the technical glitch.
BAAAAAAD PIIIIIIIIES
She was faking the delay
Nothing gets past you does it
@@billysequins your back on the boddle!
A nod to the Two Ronnies and Mastermind.
Only with a premise that works THIS TIME!
@@mixtapesfrommylatepartner Are you serious? The Two Ronnies mastermind sketch is far better than this. This was ok but became very predictable and a little bit tedious once they got into it.
Jenny didn't struggle (as usual)
How have they managed to give the lady presenter an uncanny valley look?
Brilliantly painful.
Is this GB News?
Only should have responded once to Jenny, quickly. Needlessly reiterated the joke so everyone could get it. Partridge at its best doesnt pander.
Agree, less is more sometimes. Maybe it had to be overdone so Australians and Yanks got the joke.
@Briwire The lack of self awareness behind this comment is epic. Alan's character is a direct mockery of people like yourself.
Eh. I think it developed pretty naturally and was consistently funny.
There’s two types of partridge fans, those who enjoy coogans creation and those who critique every new joke and iteration of the character.
No, not needless, it was necessary for realism. One response from Jenny would have seemed unrealistic. Does every joke need to be so subtle that it's blink and you miss it or can some be hammered home? I'd say it's up to Coogan, I've kept watching for 20 odd years or however long he's done it. I think he's got more of a handle on it than you, despite you sounding like Richard Madley
... or bloody _anywhere_ in the world.
Sniggeringly great.!!!
Jennie is class corny 2D presenter. Hahaha
😆
all the pastry turns into a fat back
They like American things
what's wrong with donuts?
Ruth Duggan is back. Here comes the pain. Alan, I pity thee .
1 dated loki the other arrested him for the TVA
