2023 was an awesome year for gamers. And it's a very good list...But please..Starfield is here, but not Hogwarts Legacy, Remnant 2, or Lords of the Fallen? Remnant 2. is the GOTY for me.
It's reasonable to not bring attention to a game that funds hate. Imagine if a game was done based on a novel series by someone that came out as KKK member, who'd uses funds from the sale to fund KKK crap. While the team otherwise behind the game sound great, the game cannot escape the actions of the book author.
I completed Remnant 2 with 100 hours logged and 100%ed Starfield with 427 hours logged. Starfield was much better than Remnant 2. The final boss was a mess and took the game off the list for me....and lets not talk about the Labyrinth cube fight lol. Both are great games.
My top games of the year: Horizon Forbidden West/Burning Shores and Starfield. About to dive into BG3 (mostly) solo. Will porbably dive back into either CP2077 or Forbidden West NG+ after that.
Armored Core 6 and Phanton Liberty were the only two I finished on this list. Both were outstanding. I'm about 4 hours into Hogwarts Legacy and the game seems great. Maybe should have been added to this list.
Hogwarts Legacy was a game of the year contender but these outlets are too chicken to add it out of fear from being cancelled by transformers and Twitter losers because J.K Rowling had the audacity to state literal biological facts that the mentally unstable don’t want to hear.
I feel sorry for all amazing indie games released this year that are not good enough for GamingBolt because they decided that garbage tier RPG Starfield deserve that spot way more haha

In terms of units moved, gross revenue earned, and hours played, it has toppled much longer-standing titles, including industry juggernaut Call of Duty. In fact, it was arguably the highest earning, best selling and most played game for the entire year. And so one would have to assume it not being included on this list comes down to social and ideological reasons and not by anything rational or objective. You need to do better, GamingBolt. Do better.
Either they didn't like it, or they're woke. There's going to be a lot of sites that skip out on HL, especially if they're headquarters are in California.

I'm not feeling Robocop. I've played half I think, but it's very repetitive and it feels clunky. I guess it's supposed to but I feel like I can't really do anything in a gunfight other than tank a bunch of shots and kill the spongy enemies. Everything about it feels slow. I stopped playing it. My mate gameshares with me. He also loves robocop but said "I just wasn't feeling it". Dead space remastered is absolutely excellent though. I played it rhough, then straight away went through on NG+, and then started a third run just to get a few more achievements. Loved it from start to finish. Starfield was just dull. I had no desire to wade through the early hours to get to something that might be decent. Lies of P seems decent, but I've played all the souls games and it's basically just that again. It didn't feel new or exciting. I stopped playing.

Honestly before this year I could count on one hand the amount of high quality games I'd want to play. Now that's doubled. Starfield, Phantom Liberty, Alan Wake 2. Jedi Survivor. Hogwarts Legacy. Forza Motorsport, Robocop are all must plays imo especially with game pass and on sale. Baldurs Gate and Avatar I'll probably get once they go on sale. I haven't even gotten around to playing RE4, Diablo IV, Dead Island 2, etc, etc... And probably won't because there are just too many games. MLB The show is now on xbox. I don't see what playstation has anymroe except certain marvel games. I can do without Spiderman 2 and WOlverine if it means Starfield, Avowed, Fable. Indiana Jones and Elder Scrolls 6 too. Maybe Naughty Dog will come up with something. I bought a series S this past fall and can't say I regret it. I'm enjoying Starfield the most honestly. It doesn't break the mold of bethesda games but more an evolution and is a really good game. Forza Motorsport also got mixed reviews and is excellent. I got starfield on gamepass. Baldurs Gate gets a ton of hype but I honestly enjoy Starfield where I'm in no rush to get it. I wouldnt pay 75 dollars for games. There are too many other good games.
