    hey Joey, just wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I started to study for the CPA around the summer of 2024. First part of the exam is going to be AUD, and the Becker mock exams made AUD feel impossible, especially with the task based simulations. Genuinely appreciated the fact that you mentioned that it's better to have your own assessment of how the exam is going to be like. I needed that. Unlike you, I definitely feel a few retakes happening for me lol, but extremely belated congrats on getting your CPA

      Hey Francis, thank you so much for the kind words and I'm glad some of what I've said resonated with you, because yeah getting that first exam taken is so helpful. And yeah maybe you will need a retake or two but that is so common so there's no worries about that. Just keep the positive attitude and the hard work and you will certainly be successful. Good luck with your studies! Wishing you the best!

    You're the only person I've seen who emphasizes how important it is to take your first exam as soon as you're ready. I 100% agree with that because I remember before taking FAR, there was a ton of pressure and would always tell myself how bad I'm going to fail after getting destroyed by MCQs. A lot of that pressure went away once I saw what I was actually up against. Passing it was the biggest confidence booster for me.

      I love to hear that. I felt the same exact way and that's the reason I try to push that point so hard. I'm glad you experienced the same!

    I love your videos, you have a cool and humble demeanor. I am within a year and a half of achieving my Bachelor's in Accounting through Southern New Hampshire University. I am always happy to hear your views as they relate closely to my initial fears and expectations. I use your videos to help me understand, and stay focused on, the reasons I chose accounting. Thank you for your time! Keep up the good work, I will be watching! 😜

    Have you heard any recent news regarding the 120 credit requirement for the CPA in 2025 from the 150 credit? How do you think it’ll impact the Us accounting Job sector in the coming years?

    How will AI impact the accounting career? Currently in college and deciding if it worth the risk with AI? Any suggestions for undergrad students?

    • @JoeyCPA
      @JoeyCPA  12 днів тому +2

      I think AI will impact accounting in the sense that it will automate tasks and free us up to do more useful things. Accountants understand business better than anyone else so they will always have value in some form (even if AI changes how they are used). The bigger issue right now is with firms outsourcing work to low cost countries. That is more of a threat than AI rn. At least at public accounting firms.

      Why is there no resistance from Qualified CPA’s against this outsourcing?

  • @purplecherry826
    @purplecherry826 10 днів тому +1

    With all the outsourcing and ridiculous pass percentages for far and audit, it is really discouraging to study for CPA.

      yeah there are some issues with the industry but overall it is still a huge bonus for your career to get your CPA license.

    If I may ask, im going to be laid off around Febuary March. The past two years I earned a cert in accounting at public uni. Which now qualified me to sit for the CPA. I dont have much guidance on what i should do with that. I do want to pursue a career in tax acxounting but dont know if i should try to get a masters in it or just now just try to pass the CPA. Im 35 and trying to invest in a totally different field like information systems that places like deloite desire doesnt seem realisitic or something im really capable of. Id rather just be competent in tax. Im trying ti just get my foot in the door as an entry person in this industry. Any thoughts is truly appreciated. Thank you for this video!

      Hey, I would say between a Masters in Tax or going for the CPA, the CPA license will serve you better. For a few reasons.
      1) It will cost less money
      2) It will be more flexible (easier to stay working or find part time work while doing CPA as opposed to masters)
      3) CPA differentiates you more. It means more than a masters in tax and will give you more leverage in the future.
      4) Many places like Deloitte or other accounting firms won't let you get promoted to a certain level unless you have a CPA license.
      For all those reasons I think CPA is the way to go.
