My 2020 already had this I guess because my phone synced right up. But when I got my 2022… no such luck. Needless to say I was really disappointed. I really like the feature and the menu is more user friendly with it.
Now if only we can get an OEM android auto upgrade for free
All I had to do was tell the service department at Toyota to update my 21’ supra with the full screen layout. They did it no questions asked

Thanks for the video- when using Apple Maps - does the turn by turn directions appear in the heads up display? Or virtual cockpit? This seems to work on I drive 7 but not sure about I drive 6.
It does not. The heads up display will only show address directions entered into the on board idrive navigation

My 2020 MK5 doesn’t even have CarPlay is it possible to install like you did ?
it happened to my 2021 as well. I called toyota and BMW. they said ALL of them should have it. It should be included in your package. I'm still trying to talk to them right now to figure things out.

I would like to think about this could be pushed backwards to other cars with OTA updates from toyota. Its software ultimately.
Hard to say, but for a small price to get this updated in the convenience of my home was definitely worth it

I do not believe it is currently offered by the dealerships at this time.
Can confirm the dealer does do it. Out here in jersey and they just did it for me today
Did you have a battery charger on the car while the coding was done?
It is recommended, but I did not use one as my battery is quite strong
Can non apple car play supras have the featured added on???
It is suggested that you have apple CarPlay as the full screen is only intended for CarPlay
So 22s are full screen? Mine is a 22 but I'm an Android user.
I have a 22 and mine in is not full screen

To my knowledge it’s only possible for Android at this time.

You are correct. Some 2020 base models had a smaller screen

did you need to connect an external battery while coding ?
It is suggested so that the car does not die in hehe middle of coding

You cannot. The firmware for the infotainment system needs to be updated hence the requirement for coding on E-sys

Can you still have the split screen if you want? Is there a setting to switch between full screen CarPlay and the default 2020 split screen view?
I can use split screen still when using the native car (non Apple) gps maps
