So cute! My cat was huge as well. He was TWENTY POUNDS OF CAT, and NOT fat (vet confirmed!), he was simply a huge, muscled-up purr party. I miss him, because he was such a sweetheart. ❤
I miss my 7 pound Burmese (a healthy weight for him, the vet assured). I have noticed my big cats were easier to cuddle. Very small cats are afraid of being smooshed, instinctively, but I worked hard to get my lil boi to trust me and he became as great a cuddler as my big British Shorthairs, but it took a few years!
I’m sorry about your loss. I can’t stop missing my best friend either…he passed away last Fall. I just fell in love with a new cat. He’s amazing! You can’t beat the love of a cat you have bonded with, but I was ready to start again. He loves to ride on my shoulders and never wants me to leave the house, so we’re off to a promising start!
Beyond understand. I found an Abyssinian (likely a mix) as a stray. He's - no exaggeration - 1.5 feet long, not including his tail, and he's still growing. STILL GROWING. He's 11ish months per vet and just keeps getting bigger. I call him my ferret-cat because he's just *so* damn big and loooonnnngg... AND STILL GROWING.
I have 2 ragdolls that I take to the groomers every 2-3 months and let me tell you, the girls at the pet groomers literally fight over who gets to groom them! Every time I walk in, they all get excited and say "our boys are here!" Always make me feel so good when they compliment how well behaved my boys were like a proud mama :)
My Madame Charlotte von Floofenheimer (purebred seal mitted) cost me nothing to adopt. Coming up on 16 years old and still in excellent health. You should look into adopting from a rescue org.
I had a ragdoll growing up. We found him in the field after he got left behind. His markings were like a raccoon and he was so big, we thought he was a raccoon when we found him. Sweetest kitty ever. More like a dog then any other cat I’ve ever known.
He literally grew in size with each step out of his carrier. I love how relaxed and appreciative he was while you cleared out his "dindle berries area." ☺️ What an adorable and gentle giant. 🐱♥️
@CM Bea lol, that, as well as the fact that for some strange reason, that fluffy area on cats seems to attract dust bunnies, jiblets of paper, and strings from off the floor. Their bottoms are literal vacuum cleaners. When I was a little girl, I called my male dog's rear part dingle berries, and once I owned my first cat, I noticed she would occasionally have some random weird debris hanging from her fur back there. 😉 So I started calling that area the dingle berries spot. Lol 😂
My wife and I had a pair of sibling Ragdoll cats years and years ago, of course we called the brother Brother and the sister Sister. Their other names where the TTOT, the terrible twins of trouble, they were entertainment incarnate at all hours of the day and night, for years there was caterwauling, howls and kabooms throughout the nights and most days. They played hard and slept harder afterwards, they were the most fun ever, but time has passed and so have the TTOT, we will love and miss them forever.
This comment made me so happy to read. We have a brother and sister pair of 15y/o half ragdolls, and they’ve always been the same as your terrible twins. Even at their advanced age they’re always causing mischief together.
Seriously! I spent my whole childhood with only ragdolls, and then we adopted a couple of shelter cats a few years ago and I was shocked at how itty bitty they were
During the lockdown, a shelter was literally just giving away kittens for free, shots, spayed/neutered and everything. My coworker got what she thought was a Himalayan but it turned out to be a ragdoll that grew to be 27" and 26lbs of fluffy love. My coworker is 5'3" and looks like a child when he insists on sitting in her lap when we all come over for game night.
Wow, sounds like a beauty of a cat. Giving away for free must explain the strays in my area. Like people didn't want the responsibility any longer and just let them go... :(
Just a small warning for the people who've watched this, and are now considering a ragdoll as a pet. They are a wonderful breed of cat, but they are a lot more commitment than most other breeds. They can't be allowed outside unsupervised (too friendly, making them an easy target for predators and thieves), meaning they rely on their owners almost exclusively for stimulation - so you need to provide a rich indoor environment for them, and play with them regularly. They also really bond to their owners, following them around the house and wanting to be involved in everything they do, but that means they often get pretty bad separation anxiety, so they can't be left alone for massive periods of time. Certainly if you're someone who isn't home much, they aren't the cat for you. I have two, and I love them to bits. But I work from home, and am a bit of a homebody generally. In terms of commitment, they're really more like dogs than cats - very dependent on their owners, which can be nice, but does mean they demand far more of your time and attention than most cats.
I used to have a couple of Ragamuffin cats. They came from the Ragdoll, and are very similar in size, sweet disposition, and being indoor cats. I used to say letting them outside at all "voids their warranty" lol. Best cats ever. Follow you around like dogs. They want to be "where the action is." Even if that's just watching you wash dishes. Mine would spontaneously run together from one room to another now and then, but, overall they were great. They'd greet total strangers, and do the "ragamuffin flop" for belly rubs. It's not only their sweet nature that makes them vulnerable when outside, but they're also soft pawed. So, even with their claws (no one should ever declaw any cat) they can't defend themselves like other cats. They can also be a bit dopey at times. Mine did manage to catch a mouse in my basement once, so they are definitely still all cat. Overall though, like you mentioned, they're super affectionate and do crave more attention than the average cat.
I have a blue-point Birman and every day I sincerely think - how did I deserve such an angel? She never ruined anything in the flat including plants and never showed her murder claws) Absolutely love my sweetest. Not to speak she never woke me up at night and totally got along with my schedule. ❤ Shanti, let me express my love to you on the 14th of Feb, you are so brilliant!
Same here with my blue point Birman , male , Indi, now 10 years old 🙃. Almost nobody believe me when I talk how he behaves . So happy to have such an amazing cat.
@Moebym I am indeed blessed. Sorry if I give you a stupid advice, but maybe a positive reinforcement might work? For example, putting a catnip smell on the scratching post and on the contrary a disgusting smell on the carpet/sofa to avoid scratching? Disgusting is normally the smell of citrus for cats, maybe a little bit of orange essential oil on the surface you want to save would help
I used to cat sit for ragdolls. They were so cuddly and friendly, my favorite thing to do was pick them up, drape their front half over my shoulder, and walk around the house bouncing them like babies.
As someone who owns and volunteers with cats, I have to express my appreciation for you and your followers. Everyone here has such respect for all animals. Many times, when I tell people I own cats, they immediately say something negative or clarify that they're a dog person like I asked. I love all the dog AND cat love on this channel. ❤️
As a dog person; those ppl are super rude. That's not how you go about a promising acquaintance. When someone has a pet I don't dig (e.g. bunnies), I just...leave it unsaid. I know I'm not that important that this person _needs_ to know every inch of my mind. Don't yuck other ppl's yums, guys.
I have a Tuxedo Ragdoll, and he is simply gorgeous! Yes, he's a big boy, but has the ways of a kitten; very gentle, very nice and friendly, and playful.
What an absolutely gorgeous cat, both in appearance and personality. He's so FLUFFY! And how he cuddled against you after his grooming just melts my heart. Oslo is a treasure.
My rag doll was 17 years old when I had to have him put down. I still cry when I think of him. He was the sweetest man, so mannerly. That was 2002. I feel certain I will see Sam again….❤️
I don't think I've ever seen such a sweet natured, loving cat, how lovely he is indeed. Also, the way that he responded to you calling him a good boy was just precious.
@@nimikina i grew up with birmans, though i don’t know anything of ragdolls, but the birman male who had chosen me, would always come to my bed if i cried, and pat my head until i lifted it, then he would crawl under as a pillow and purr when i put my head down on him. I still miss him, even though it’s been more than 7 years. He was my best friend for many years, and he never let me be alone. He also always brought me unharmed animals on my birthdays, because i had (as a 6 year old)scolded him enough about them being dead. No more dead animals, only living ones.
The most gentle and velcro combination for cats? That is the sweetest angel breed anyone could ever ask for. Thank you for sharing that experience with us
I wanna show this video to everyone who says cats arent personable. The way he moved in for some cuddles after you were done like 'I still love you even tho you just tormented me', what a sweet boy
Cats all have distinct personalities, just like people. Ideally we all have the picture of a cat in mind that we'd like as a pet, and some people do buy cats for their looks, but I've always gotten a cat by letting them choose me. Even a couple strays over the years just ended up loving, and living with me, just like my last cat. I miss him a lot, need to stop watching cat vids
We have a ragdoll and I can confirm carrying him is like carrying a toddler! He loves brushes and comes to get blow dried every time we use the hairdryer but I’d kill for him to behave this well for the nail clippers 😂 what a good boy Oslo is
I had a ragdoll and Norwegian mixed cat growing up and he was the friendliest giant. He was close to 20lbs. He would run up to anyone who came into the house and roll onto their feet for attention. He was the cuddliest boy.
He sounds like a cuddle beast and the sweetest boy. I wish I could have a Ragdoll but 1. I’m allergic, 2. My mom’s allergic to cats and 3. I have dogs that love to chase and harass small animals. So I fill my desire for the soft fluffy cuties by watching them on UA-cam, especially Xiedubbel (rest in peace Timo).
@@mirandagoldstine8548 Siamese cats are reccomended for you! They Are like ragdolls but not fluffy, if you are looking for something fluffy you can get a persian but it has kind of issues, my friends persian cat died last year at the age of 15 just of its issues. But siamese cats has color points like dark mitted, blue mitted like ragdolls! Hope this helped. But i cant say anything surely because of the dogs tho! Because when we were going for a walk a small dog chased a cat with its most fast speed, but maybe you can get one someday, dont forget that life changes, your dogs are more important than regular cats on the social media. Thank you!
my seal point ragdoll is really inquisitive of strangers too, which leads me to believe this breed would not fare well outdoors vs. predators and thieves
I have a lynx-pt/siamese & she's bigger than him. People freak out when they see her, but she's a real sweetheart. I'm always amazed how small most houses & street cats are in comparison to my girl. She's almost 6 & STILL growing..
Even when he expresses his displeasure, he does so in gentle and non-agressive way. And even after all that, he comes to cuddle. What a sweet lovely feline.
Rag dolls are definitely my all time favourite cat breed! They’re known for having dog-like personalities and being extremely docile and loving cats . The breed got it’s name for its tendency to go limp due to relaxation when being held in a person arms. 😊🐈
Mine too. I only seen one in real life but what I know about them in general is that they are basically Newfies in cat form. We’ll save for one of my professors’ Ragdoll. She apparently is very selective of people. I guess there are outliers in Ragdolls.
My rag doll is absolutely insane. He is very very strong and very dangerous. He's 4.5 years and been Neutered and vets say there's nothing wrong with him but he smashes ornaments and a flat screen TV. He digs holes in carpets. He will savage you during bathing or brushing,. He will escape 2 people holding him during bathing and climb up your body and face or even wall and smash everything in the bathroom like a Tasmanian devil. And he doesn't meow like a normal cat he shrieks at the top of his lungs 24/7 over and over, unless he's asleep for no reason. We've tried everything with him, we got him a female ragdoll a few years ago who he would fight all the time so we had to get rid of her we even let him outside for some peace but you can still hear him through the brick walls, hes so loud and screeches and houls non stop and savages any other cats he comes across, one cat he caught and had pinned down in the middle of road. He is evil to the core and making our lives a mystery, he's damaging our relationship.
" The breed got it’s name for its tendency to go limp due to relaxation when being held in a person arms. 😊🐈" It did!?!?! =O Oh, my gosh, I'm gonna die! This melts my heart!
P.S.. I miss my ragdoll, Very intelligent and loyal to their owner... He wasn't keen on strangers, Chester was 2 years old when i rescued him, I was also his 4th owner. He lived to he was 11.. Thinking of getting on?.... be prepared to groom him / her regularly. I used to bath my fur baby regularly as well.
I love how UA-cam let's you know what the most replayed part of a video is nowadays and for here, the most replayed part is watching this cute baby just melt right into her arms ♥️
He's sooooooo sweet and floofy!!!!! The hug at the end was so endearing! It was as if he was saying, "I forgive you, but I need some affection." So cute 😍 💓 💗 💕

Awe Oslo, you are the sweetest boy!! The headbutt & snuggles at the end absolutely warmed my heart😻 I love when you have cats on your channel, especially ones that are as gorgeous & purrfectly beautiful as him🥰🥰😻😻
Rag dolls are so gentle. My sisters beloved rag doll let me shake his paw and he never scratched or bite. One of the friendliest chillest animals. Even dogs got along with him ❤
With every "giant cat" video I watch, I gradually realize just how big our cat was & why so many people were scared to come in the house 😂 I literally thought thirty pound cats were normal my entire life until I got my own ten pound kitty.
When I was younger, my family had a big cat. Most chill cat I ever have seen to this day, and he was _huge_ - something like two and a half feet tall standing normally. He unfortunately died fairly early in my life, but he was bigger than me for the entirety of his lifetime. I _still_ initially see every cat as small - even one of my current maine coone mixes - because my first encounter with one was such a ridiculously large one. Growing up around a cat like that is something else.
I feel ya! I have 3 large dogs (two 65Lbs + one 55Lbs) and 2 large cats (12Lbs and 20Lbs). I always think the 12Lb cat and 55Lb dog are "little" until I go over to friends' houses and their cats are all 6 - 8Lbs and the dogs are under 35Lbs. 😅 Guess when you start off with one big pet, it just naturally sets your standard to "above average"? 😂
This makes me miss my ragdoll who passed away a little over 3 years ago. She was a great cat, and probably the best cat I've ever owned. Rest in peace Angelcake, you will be missed.
I have two of those big boys myself and I can confirm that they are just the sweetest little things who exist. They are very, very kind hearted and absolutely patient, super tolerant little men who are very attached to their owners and who overall do behave way more dogish than catish. They are also very curious and playful and they just want to be with their owners all the time. I would not trade them for the world. Their only minus is the excessive shedding of hair. Their fur is always just everywhere. 😂 And they can be very talkative. 😄
Aw, what a beautiful cat ❤️ Him snuggling with you at is the end is typical birma / Ragdoll behavior. My two boys can never stay mad at me either 😂🥰 They are such a sweet breed. But yes they are quite big and strong. My boys often follow me around and love to "help me work". Be it household stuff, or when I'm working from home 🙈 They are truly part of the family ❤️
I love that he wasn't mad at you afterwards. Half of them usually either look like they want to plot your demise or are absolutely heartbroken that you would put them through such torture as a bath (the ones who give the adorably pathetic mewls the whole time and still don't want to be your friend afterwards).
As someone with a young Ragdoll I’m honestly really looking forward to when he gets this big. Honestly my biggest flex is the fact I brush him everyday, so even after 2 years he has never had a mat.
My Maine Coons (especially my girl Nikita) takes this one step further and in response to my grooming her will groom ME! I love that she gets on board with the whole process and starts doing reciprocal grooming, and will lick my hand or arm while I’m grooming her 😻 (Except when she decides grooming is the worst and I am not permitted to help her in any way, and she’ll just get up and leave… and I’ve tried, but trying to press the issue and continue/reposition her is 1000% counterproductive! She is, after all, a cat 😂)
This episode gave me such a bittersweet feeling. I had a ragdoll mix named Megatron and he was very much like Oslo in personality. Doesn't matter what you just put him through, if there's pets at the end, all is forgiven. Makes me miss my boy with my whole heart. He sadly passed away a few years ago due to kidney failure that we caught too late. I'm glad Oslo forgave you at the end! Love these videos!
My ragdoll lived to be very old. I still miss her so much even after 12 years... At 21 years old, she had been thru my first marriage, my first child and so much history. Strange how they just always seem to have been beside you, giving you love thru the highs and lows of life. No other pet EVER replaces another. Each family member makes a permanent place in your home and your heart...no matter how many pets you have! At least it seems that way to me...
We had an insanely gorgeous 'Black Tabby' ragdoll with lots of white on him. He was 8 ounces of 7 week-old kitten, that just kept on growing. He was super calm, and everyone threatened to steal that boy. Trying to fit 20 lbs of cat into a carrier was some fun, so he went to the vet on a leash. We had to carry him through the reception area, as he seemed to scare most dogs there.
@@nerysghemor5781 Something about a huge confident cat, being lugged through an area full of dogs, who "sprawled & purred" as he looked at them, seemed to terrify most dogs. But we used to dog-sit a fluffy Pomeranian who was in love with him, and kissed him a lot. He was so tolerant of her!
When I read out loud “Activate Fly Mode” to my five year old, he started laughing very hard and kept laughing through the rest of the video 😊 I love how these videos are wonderful for young and old alike. What a beautiful, friendly chonk this kitty is. Lovely cat.💕

He looks like such a sweetheart. I love ragdolls. I will never forget my former roommates ragdoll, Thomas. He was this grumpy old cat who didn't really like socializing with anyone but his owner, but if you worked for his affection, he would reward you by becoming close and socializing with you. It felt like such an achievement when he and I finally became friends.

my childhood cat and both of my adulthood cats are this massive too! Sometimes I forget that most cats are much smaller haha
The way he snuggled up to you when you were petting him toward the end, sooooooo sweet. He was loving the affection ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Aww, the way he snuggled up next to her even after the groom was so cute! Not that I could ever afford one, but I love Ragdoll kitties ❤
My Madame Charlotte von Floofenheimer (purebred seal mitted) cost me nothing to adopt. Coming up on 16 years old and still in excellent health. You should look into adopting from a rescue org.
@@scarybaldguy Your kitty has a great name!
@@scarybaldguyDo you call her by her full name, I’m sure with that regal of appearance she demands to be addressed by her full awesome name.
Consider adopting a retired breeding cat if you're open to an adult. My show quality cat was only $250 (marked down from the $3500 the breeder paid).
I had a ragdoll growing up. We found him in the field after he got left behind. His markings were like a raccoon and he was so big, we thought he was a raccoon when we found him.
Sweetest kitty ever. More like a dog then any other cat I’ve ever known.

You had a mainecoon
Same! My ragdoll is a rescue, like a dog, and has these funny racoon markings on his tail and face... It's cute
@@bryanguest2807 could be, vet said he was a ragdoll so that’s what I was going on 🤷♀️
As an owner of a ragdoll, I would have freaked out if my ragdoll went missing. They aren't meant to be left outside to fend for themselves.
He literally grew in size with each step out of his carrier. I love how relaxed and appreciative he was while you cleared out his "dindle berries area." ☺️
What an adorable and gentle giant.
Lol 😂
it's like it's decompressing itself with each step

Beautiful cat! He is a big boy! You could really tell by his paws when you were shaving them. He really loves you, Vanessa! It's nice to see that.
My aunt used to breed ragdolls. They were such sweet little fluffballs! I adored them. And Oslo has some beautiful points!!
Ohhhh such wonderful memories! 😺+😺=💖
This comment made me so happy to read. We have a brother and sister pair of 15y/o half ragdolls, and they’ve always been the same as your terrible twins. Even at their advanced age they’re always causing mischief together.
Wow, what a beautiful, gorgeous cat!😍😻🐈😻😍
I just accept every "moew" is a gentle "no" every time 💕
As a person who only owned a ragdoll cat, I’m always surprised how SMALL other cats are 😂
I’ve only owned Maine Coons, I feel the same way! Regular cats are so tiny
Surely, the're not as big as mainecoons?
@@Rathbone_fan_accountThey’re similar. Maine Coons are the largest non-hybrid breed, but Ragdolls are a close second.

In terms of commitment, they're really more like dogs than cats - very dependent on their owners, which can be nice, but does mean they demand far more of your time and attention than most cats.
ok thanks for the advice ❣
i'm in luck then! my cat has a similar disposition, she's just a very small calico instead. my main concern is all that fur lol
@@honeycomb937 Beautiful
Late reply, but they're basically for those who like to spend alot of time with their pets

0:03 OMG ITS SO CUTE HOW HE LOOKS AROUND AAAAAAAA

OSLO Little meows while getting wet is so cute, such a gentle giant 🥰
I used to cat sit for ragdolls. They were so cuddly and friendly, my favorite thing to do was pick them up, drape their front half over my shoulder, and walk around the house bouncing them like babies.
He was such a good boy!! Those cuddles at the end 😍
"... like I asked..."
That! 🙌
This is so true 😭
As a dog person; those ppl are super rude. That's not how you go about a promising acquaintance.
When someone has a pet I don't dig (e.g. bunnies), I just...leave it unsaid. I know I'm not that important that this person _needs_ to know every inch of my mind.
Don't yuck other ppl's yums, guys.

Ragdolls just love humans too much to stay mad at them. Even if you stand on their tail they will be like "it's fine, no worry, I love you".
@@nimikina i grew up with birmans, though i don’t know anything of ragdolls, but the birman male who had chosen me, would always come to my bed if i cried, and pat my head until i lifted it, then he would crawl under as a pillow and purr when i put my head down on him.
Cats are likely to be humans in meow forms
They have the same diseases like us and the same personalities as well

He sounds like a cuddle beast and the sweetest boy. I wish I could have a Ragdoll but 1. I’m allergic, 2. My mom’s allergic to cats and 3. I have dogs that love to chase and harass small animals. Because when we were going for a walk a small dog chased a cat with its most fast speed, but maybe you can get one someday, dont forget that life changes, your dogs are more important than regular cats on the social media. my seal point ragdoll is really inquisitive of strangers too, which leads me to believe this breed would not fare well outdoors vs. predators and thieves

I have a pure bred rag doll and she didn’t get the memo about the limp part 🥺but definitely has dog like traits.
My rag doll is absolutely insane. He is very very strong and very dangerous. He's 4.5 years and been
Neutered and vets say there's nothing wrong with him but he smashes ornaments and a flat screen TV.

Rag dolls are so gentle. My sisters beloved rag doll let me shake his paw and he never scratched or bite. One of the friendliest chillest animals. Even dogs got along with him ❤
Ragdolls are the definition of a gentle giant, I adore them so much. What a kind and sweet cat.
That has to be the most adorable ending to any of your visits, the way he nuzzles into your for protection is so lovely.
With every "giant cat" video I watch, I gradually realize just how big our cat was & why so many people were scared to come in the house 😂
I literally thought thirty pound cats were normal my entire life until I got my own ten pound kitty.
… my siamese is a whooping 4.5 pounds.
@@gougougolls my current cat is 5 pounds tops 😂
My sister has a domestic shorthair cat that is only 3.5kg and very small for her age (she's 7)

Aw, what a beautiful cat ❤️
Him snuggling with you at is the end is typical birma / Ragdoll behavior. My two boys can never stay mad at me either 😂🥰

I love that he wasn't mad at you afterwards. Half of them usually either look like they want to plot your demise or are absolutely heartbroken that you would put them through such torture as a bath (the ones who give the adorably pathetic mewls the whole time and still don't want to be your friend afterwards).
He was definitely swishing his tail in annoyance, but he was too good natured to turn down a hug lol

As someone with a young Ragdoll I’m honestly really looking forward to when he gets this big.
Honestly my biggest flex is the fact I brush him everyday, so even after 2 years he has never had a mat.
1:23 and 1:55 It is absolutely adorable that he’s helping you groom him!
My Maine Coons (especially my girl Nikita) takes this one step further and in response to my grooming her will groom ME! I love that she gets on board with the whole process and starts doing reciprocal grooming, and will lick my hand or arm while I’m grooming her 😻
(Except when she decides grooming is the worst and I am not permitted to help her in any way, and she’ll just get up and leave… and I’ve tried, but trying to press the issue and continue/reposition her is 1000% counterproductive!
