Set your Milwaukee 3/8 impact at the 3rd power setting!!! Not the other one with the swirl thing. I’ve got the same gun and it kicks ass on semi truck work.

Also I try to use the 5.0 battery or bigger in the Milwaukee tools surprisingly it makes a difference. I love you videos man you do some great work. I have a 2004 wrangler.

Looking good there. I replaced my 231 with a 241 from a Rubicon model. The one thing I have that is different is the gear light in my dash, it is different in the Rubicon model with the 241. In the Rubicon model the transfer case indicates what gear you're in, as in 2WD, 4WD hi, 4WD low. If I remember right my TJ with the 231 only indicated 2WD or 4WD. That is a simple plunger switch in the 231 that grounds the circuit when in low range, which turns the light on the dash telling you that you're in low range, as if you need that. The 241 has an internal stepped plate that rotates where the plunger rests on, and as it rotates when you shift 2 hi, to 4 hi to 4xlow each "step" moves the plunger depth to a different resistance so the computer can tell what gear you're in. So on my TJ, since I don't have the matching 241 plunger switch, the light comes on and off as I drive along. It makes me laugh as the light comes on and off telling me I'm in low range as I go down the highway, at 65mph. If I remember right, the plunger switches are not interchangeable so I just plugged in the (231) switch that is on my TJ. Now this was about 10 years ago, so it may actually be a little different than explained above, but you get the idea... lol

that's very interesting thanks for sharing and for saying it grounds in 4lo as i've heard i need to do something about that for the ls swap but i'll research more when that time comes

On the Rubicon, you can not shirt out of low range while your diff's are locked, and your speed has to be low to locked in as well. You can drop in a across over wire on the didd lock switch which faked it out and lock in at any gear at any speed.

    • @mariodesmo

@@kenuber4766- Yup, that is why there is a multiple positioning/setting on the t-case gear/range indicator switch. The computer uses the different voltages from the t-case plunger switch to determine what gear you are in. From that, the computer controls the lockers' functions.

I’m getting some grinding noise when going uphill at highway speeds when loaded down and it sounded like either from the tranny or transfer case so I disassembled the transfer case. My question is how much play should there be on the shaft of of the planetary gear. Mine can rock back and forth about 1/4-1/2” dunno if that’s ok. Thanks.
