  • Hi Guys,
Today we are going to be working on the Tiger I's hatches and cupola. We will be working through build techniques such as armor texturing, shell impacts, and hing pins. No idea why I sound depressed in this video, or why the sound is so grainy, so, sorry about that, working on fixing it. Remember, Tamiya is having its spring sale here:
    www.tamiyausa.com/blog/tamiya...
And no, I was not paid to include it, just though you guys would like to know.
Also, if you liked the video, please give it a like, comment, and subscribe, because we are going to finally start painting the beast next week, you don't want to miss it!

Nice work. The cupola on early tigers was not a cast surface though, it was a machined finish. The vision ports on the model's cupola are too close to the turret roof and should be higher up.

Hi Scale Studio, I love watching your expert videos excellent. Could I ask what wire are you using please?

Thanks! Actually in this video I'm just using some plain wire I got at hobby lobby. I've since mostly switched over to lead wire. you can find it on amazon, usually for tying flies

Thanks for your fast response, that is great, I have a roll of aluminium wire that I bought years ago 1mm thick it is soft & easy to cut however I did find it just a bit difficult to get a bend on it without the pliers snipping it, I did however manage to get a curve, I also managed to drill out the holes for the headlamp connectors & put brackets of aluminium foil from food containers over the part where the wire meets the hole.

Oh Hobby lobby, we call that store Hobby Craft here in the UK.

Yeah sometimes the pliers can dent it pretty badly. If you’re having trouble with that, I can reccomend you trying to roll the wire over a cylinder of a slightly smaller radius than the curve you’re trying to make. It tends to make fairly nice bends in a pinch!

@@ScaleStudioModeling Oh ok thanks, never thought of that sprue would do the trick.

What's the diameter of the wire you used to make the handles?
