I love all things scale modeling related, and apply engineering techniques and general nerdiness to a kit to make it the best it can be! I also love playing with color modulation, 3D printing, photo etch, and more, so stick around if you wanna have fun any maybe learn something along the way! If you have any questions or comments/project ideas and requests, email me at model.nevada@gmail.com.
So, without further ado, I am the Scale Engineer, and welcome to the Studio!

ttFXmedia, fueron los primeros en realizar este tipo de videos, enseñando como realizar maquitas y figuras. 1.992.
Some of us really like the clean, "boring" look.
@@paulsmodels Yk, that’s totally fair! I still feel like some basic color modulation does worlds for you there
This is the first of your videos I have seen but I really enjoyed it. I am curious if you use the VMS varnish straight out of the bottle or do you thin it and if so, what ratio are you using?
@@stevenhoefer glad to hear that new people are finding the channel! I use vms varnish straight from the bottle
Nice editing. Good job. I like that you borrow from a few modelers then make it your own.
@@jayandry3392 I learned through UA-cam, so I like to give those guys credit when I can!
Looks very cool at this stage already. Seeing how washes and oil just make things pop is a feeling that can't really be put into words.. Probably the main source of dopamine in our hobby for me. Did a pretty tough job with sculpting a canvas mask cover today btw. All thanks for the motivation that you give!
@@user-vgrau thank you sir! Glad I could help
Good morning, that was an absolutely stunning weathering job on the tank, your style really made the tank stand out, congratulations on a job very well done, best regards from Australia, Les
@@lesthiele4921 thank you sir!
Nice video! I learned something from your tutorial! I never realized that you could mix Liquitex Acrylic Flow Aid with Tamiya paints. I am aware that both are acrylics but Tamiya is based more on Lacquer. To verify also, you mentioned mixing a Tamiya X22 clear coat together with the paint while airbrushing? This process of adding clear coat is just like using Pledge Acrylic "Future" or "Revive" (both were discontinued by J&J)? I have seen on UA-cam of someone was adding Pledge with Badger primers to make it better. Can you please explain? Thanks!
@@rays.86 yes flow aid is super useful for spraying tamiyas! usually just a couple drops is sufficient. I'm honestly not sure why it help, but mixing X-22 clear into the basecoat paint helps it lay down better!
I love the techniques, and, despite my hatred for it, the tank makes a good subject
You are a very talented modeller - and WAY better than me. Great techniques and good ideas. But rust on a T-14 Armata ? Not the best choice of "canvas". i will follow your channel anyways.
@@michaelhaugaard3111 thanks for the kind words sir! In reality I agree, but this is a ‘what if’ vehicle, and so I feel it gives me a certain measure of artistic freedom on that point
Outstanding work !!!
@@MojoDevirus thank you!
Looks very nice, but you have a lot of grounds to cover with this build. Tanks on that war are dirty, used as hell and usually just fugly to look at. It will be interesting to see how you'll turn quite bald-looking armata into something like that. And thanks for leaving the parts where something went wrong! It's always reassuring to know that others have troubles too. Helps to keep the correct perspective. P.S.: Isn't your tactical sign a Khorne's sigil? ;)
@@user-vgrau haha I know I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how to filthify it! And yeah one of my buddies thought so too
Good afternoon my friend, that was an excellent build, as for your hand painted markings they looked perfect, nice and worn, best regards from Australia, Les
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
1ManArmy mask sets are available in the United States from Bases by Bill.
Thank you for the link! Great work
Congrats brother! You now have more working T-14s than Russia ;)
@@davidrossi5096 ha! You’re not wrong
A Russian tank 😂😂 go back to work serf
I have never built an Amusing Hobby kit but this looks very impressive. Very nice molding and lots of welcome goodies, plus the optional parts from many Panther variants. The tracks do look tedious but the benefit of this thing is it only has like half the tracks per side as a Panther!
@@Panzermeister36 yeah it allows for a lot of customization which will be super fun! I’m actually just planning on buying panther details if I wanna get photo etch, since it’s basically 1:1
It's great to see you back! Your work on 3D printing upgrades and working with that tiny metal was very impressive. Those things on the rear of the turret definitely look like some sort of ice cleat but I agree that there's not seemingly enough of them for that to make sense.
Please get a silicone soldering mat. You are going to cause a fire
7:18 what's the liquid?
@@niuchajianfa6222 isopropyl alcohol
Interesting build, thanks for the vid. Hope to see the finished model soon. Considering doing some crew for future kits? I've reached a point where a model without a crew member just feels unfinished. Learning on painting faces right now, lol. Takes some time, but gives you a good practice of working with brushes
@@user-vgrau yeah I might someday! I do play with figure paining on the side, I just haven’t brought it into my models yet
I hate the tank, but great build
Haha thanks! Yeah it’s not a popular subject
I thought the T-14 was in service, if not I stand corrected, as for printing your own part, that is just another art form of this great hobby, best regards from Australia, Les
@@lesthiele4921 haha technically yes Russia does claim they have been deployed…my “paper panzer” comment was more sarcastic than anything else
Ability to make your own 3d printed solutions for parts that aren't up to standard is a great skill, I'm jealous. Considering etched parts on the turret's back - it's possibly a disassembled tray for ammunition loading, since you have to get them pretty high to load through a hatch on the turret, but I can be completely wrong there.
@@user-vgrau one of my favorite skills! Gotcha, that could totally be it
Cooollllll
I don't like the tank in real life but the kit looks fun
@@Backoffridge same lol, I think as a concept the vehicle is cool, the implementation is bad
Like button demolished
@@the_joester good job faithful soldier of the algorithm
In glorious 240p..... Need to up your camera game in 2024 bro.
@@TheHateSpeechChannel haha it should be available at higher resolutions, I shoot it all at 1080 and it is available on UA-cam at 1080
Yeah I just checked, it is available in 1080…change your video settings
It's on auto and showed a maximum of 360p. I had to manually force it to play 1080. Never had that before, apologies.
@@TheHateSpeechChannel all good, that actually happened to me while I was investigating your comment haha
Always loved this microPanther since I first saw it in WoT in 2016. Puzzled by the quality of some sprues and parts, especially by smoke launchers at 3:05 - damn these walls are thick, definitely a #1 candidate for a replacement. I understand that molding tubes is a hard process (ones that Border did for their Tiger tank is a complete testicle torture - in my BT-034 kit they somehow misaligned press-forms for internal part and created flashy tubes with variable wall thickness), but come on. At the same time antennas look really cool, it's hard to find a nice aftermarket for these conical-shaped vibrators. Will be interesting to see you build this kit!
Thanks for the review. I want to buy this model because of WoT Blitz.
@@derf-vr1fc that’s why I bought it lol
@@TheScaleEngineer When I buy it, it will be the 2nd kit I buy because of Blitz- the 1st one was a Jagdpanther II from Amusing Hobby.
Thanks for this, Sad that the 'SS' is cut from the license plate decals - childishly silly ethic...
@@rrl4245 dang I didn’t even realize…we’ll see what we can do about that
Great build and series on this kit...
Thanks!
Did you mean 'equal parts' of Tamiya flat earth, buff, and german grey?
Possibly, its been a minute since I recorded this, I dont know what wording i specifically used for this video
@@TheScaleEngineer you said ‘semi-equal parts’ which doesn’t really make sense (half equal parts). I believe you meant equal parts which would make sense. Regardless, you did a fantastic job with the colour. I have a 1/16 Kal Shot Dalet on a Tamiya centurion hull that I need to paint and I will use your formula. Keep on modelling!
@@brandonkew9122 Yeah I think I meant that it was roughly equal parts, not super specific
Great video! Been wondering how to fix those optics on modern armor.
Thanks, its one of my favorite techniques now
Excellente video! I plan to build one of these Stug and your video does help a lot
Glad to hear it! It was a total blast
Great Job! That must be one of the best builds i seen so far on UA-cam!
I love the power of using sticks instead of pre-powdered bottles, so rewarding!!!! It must be here down under that, especially in Regional Country Outback AUS, for centuries, have faced their fair share of absolutely blistering heat, wind, rain, hail tends to ‘age of the tin sheet’ which then matches the ‘nails in their holes’. I other words, the roof of ‘corrugated iron’ would’ve been missing at least a 3rd or maybe 1/2 of its nails at this stage. The rest for me was amazing and I use the one from Brunel Models with HD catering foil, love the can idea, thanx mate and keep modelling. ‘Ish, may bad’ 👍🇦🇺
Really like the periscopes on this one. I'll steal the idea for my build ;) Great video! Hope you'll come back to this channel.
Thanks man! I’m planning on it, see you this fall with some new content ;)
@@TheScaleEngineer can't wait!
For N scale use aluminum HVAC tape and a simple stiff extension spring rolled over the surface and it makes easy/realistic corrugated panels.
Very nice work
Sheeet impresive 😮
