    A question. In your last video you use lacquer to thin you enamels. And in this one you use enamel thinners any reason why you interchange between the two.

    • @ScaleStudioModeling
      @ScaleStudioModeling  3 роки тому

      yes, lacquer thinner doesn't really work with enamel paints and vice versa, to make them clean up with the opposite thinner, you need to almost damage the paint underneath.

    Amazingly well done but I suspect the mechanics that allowed that engine to get in that state would be before a firing squad before long...

      Lol, yeah, I suppose. It’s supposed to be an old tank, hence the shell impacts all over it. Even in cars today, which operated in much cleaner environments can get grimy. I mean, I have heard about these super clean tanks that the Germans had, and I know they’re not Russians, but I honestly can’t see it...with the amount of maintenance these tanks had to have done, I doubt that the mechanics would care much about a little spilled oil. And oil collects dirt, its kinda it’s job, and I can definitely visualize it building up. But that is for the feedback! I kinda follow the night shift creed. Interest over loss in some accuracy. Dunno if it’s the best way to do it...but there are some rare photos of pz IIIs and such that are absolutely filthy.

      @@ScaleStudioModeling It's one of those things. No tank would be pristine and any tank coming off the front will be dirty but ...
      Let's put it this way, you have done a remarkable job and the effects look great, real even. It's difficult to fault. It's a great demonstration of techniques.
      Far better than I can do, that's for sure.
      I just fear for the maintenance crew. Those feldwebels can be mighty picky ...

      Thank you! That means a lot to me...to tell you the truth, the tiger was my fourth armor model ever, and my third completed one.
      Haha, yah we should definitely take a moment of silence for those unfortunate mechanics. 😂

    Great work, but historically no rust got on any deployed Tiger...they never made it that long.

      @ScaleStudioModeling  Рік тому

      I do have the RFM tiger, I have not put it together yet, but it does seem to be a little better engineered. unfortunately the Academy kit is not very well designed and so it a bit of a pain to build

    You have installed the engine incorrectly. should be rotated 180 degrees! Check out the pictures of the Tiger of Bovington or reference pictures

      Ahg! I knew that I got that wrong...after it was completely done. Kinda hoping that nobody would notice honestly.

    Your engines wrong the fuel lines the blocks there connected to that whole side flywheel plate should be on the other side the same side the exhaust ends are sticking out from to connect to the rear plate! Have a look as RFMs interior tigers there engines are the other way round! I'm away to look into this to see who has it wrong! Did your engine fit ok? Check this build Airfix you have done your engine wrong

      Hey Scottish, yeah, I figured that out about halfway through the build. The engine actually fit ok, but I don’t plan on making that mistake again. Thanks for your input

      I've had a pain in the arse of a job with mine with getting a len of some old books from friend's on Tiger's and seeing all the earlier Tiger's were Grey interior not Elfenbine ivory only ivory from sponsons and top ammo boxes up and turret basket was Grey along with the 2 piece floor! So I've been working on this I've got mine done now I'm on to the weathering inside! Glad I noticed at an early stage! I hate to look at museum references as always wrong normally bit Tiger 131s interior is pretty good for reference for the early! It's pretty much as it should have been for a change Haha! The straps for the fuel tanks were black and the tanks themselves were bare alloy pickled in nickel so wouldn't have been painted! Here's some info from Tiger1.info I'm still trying to see what he means by 4 tanks seemingly has another 2 in the rear sponsons and the 2 jn the engine bay that's only on our models!? tiger1.info/EN/Upper-fuel-tanks.html
