I thought I had a strict musical taste but here's Paula outright rejecting 99,5% of all musical genres
This is the reason why she likes Nik
"I don't like clean vocals" is the most unhinged take I've heard in years. Even though I love harsh vocals, I would blow my brains out if I could never listen to anything other than metal. I need pop, rock, jazz, funk, electronic, classical and just about anything else worth listening to. I used to be a metal snob back in my teens too, but I'm so fucking thankful I managed to broaden my horizons and learn to love other things. Anyway, here's Wonderwall... j/k.
Even the majority of metal genres have clean vocals to an extent.
Even though I definetely like metal the most, I like metal with clean vocals
I smell weakness

I love how Angel straight up acknowledged Primus talent, despite not liking them. So much respect for separating talent from taste.
I agree with him 100%. Primus are hella annoying. Les can’t take life seriously and doesn’t have the discipline to be creative and productive at the same time.
@@elementsofphysicalreality But that absolutely doesn't mean the entire band is any less than phenomenally talented. Which was my point. Knowing the difference between taste and talent.
@@elementsofphysicalrealitywhat??? Les has wrote plenty of serious songs. And he doesn’t have the discipline to be creative and productive at the same time? He’s constantly touring and making new music all the time. You can not like him as a musician all you want but you can’t lie about stuff lmao

Its a valid take
Asked my wife a moment ago if she had a musician/band/genre that she absolutely hated, and her reply was "Just the Beatles." I have no words.
I agree with her
They're overplayed to shit. I like the music, but have a hard time putting it on without getting bored. Nothing is THAT good that it needs to be played as much as they've been over the decades.
@@sozeytozey That's an incorrect opinion. Fact!
They were seriously overrated.
"The Beatles are overrated" is a troll meme at this point. No relevance or meaning other than to troll. Like saying, "Trump was a good President" just to get reactions 😉
Five Finger Death Punch, mumble rap and Oasis are the best takes here.
Periphery, No clean vocals and THE ENTIRETY OF FUNK/JAZZ got me super triggered haha
Falling In Reverse is the best take, they literally have a song with the fuckin chorus "my life is like a videogame"
No clean vocals and the entirety of funk/jazz actually pissed me off 💀 like 99% of lyrical music is driven by it’s clean vocals, it just makes her seem extremely close minded 😭
Factz saying periphery got me hot
If it makes you feel better, I acknowledge Periphery is wicked talented and successful. It is just not for me :P
@@HungryLights It's all in good fun Justin haha no worries ❤️
I'm 58 now and for the first half of my life I was an insufferable musical snob. For the later half of my life I have come to the conclusion that all music is valid and that in the proper context I can listen to and enjoy just about anything. No hate from me.
So a band can't make a bad album? Every, say, Van Halen album is equally good?
@@luciferpantykrist7570 That's not what he said...
Although I am 20 years younger than he and am still a bit of a musical snob. You cannot compare Justin Beiber and Ed Sheeran with Opeth and Mozart. If you listen to the former two then you likely have a smoother brain.
@@Cheximus Ironically most of Mozart is so predictable and boring, that you can probably consider it the "I'm very culturally educated" version of Beiber and Sheeran listeners. I'm convinced that nobody listens to a random Mozart piece and is blown away by the music. They all just hear over and over that Mozart is a genius so they have to like it as well.
Sheeran is interesting as a comparison, because he's clearly a generational talent songwriter and most professional musicians will acknowledge that. But if you actually listen to most of his music it's insufferable
So give us your top 5 bands.

Mine is Coldplay, by the way.
Metallica and Asking Alexandria got me a lil tilted ngl
Not liking a band It’s ok but saying Jazz / Funk it’s trash 🗑 and not liking anything with clean vocals yeah too much ! Me I love every styles you have guitar on it !
I completely agree with the metallica answer. I legitimately dont see why they are so loved past being early to the game. Nothing wrong with enjoying them, but i cant say i get it.
Can handle Coldplay easily... there are maaaaaany worse things than Coldplay out there... At least the guys started a career playing instruments and singing without auto-tune... That's a hughe thing to say by today's standards!... it has to be said...
@@LeatherDaddy97 Their first five Studio Albums are Amazing, on the other hand, anyting after those five...

Should’ve said stupid 😭😭😭
The best part about the anti funk person is she accidentally started grooving with the head bob when trying to give an example. She loves funk. Funk is love.
This makes me want to listen to Primus doing funk versions of Jazz standards.
with clean vocals
i love everyone in this house for so many different reasons lol. i can't wait to see what other content starts coming out from the Musician Mansion.
I think my list would hit the text limit on here but at the same time to each their own and all that so I'm still happy the stuff I don't like exists cause other people are happy with it and the artists get to do what they love.
Some of these takes are wild to say the least.
Especially Paula's 😊
You can hate entire genres for their lack of creativity...but hating Funk is like not knowing what Groove is, there is no return from that 😅😂
Yeah hating funk is wild lol. More so evenn than house music funk is entirely about good times and fat bass lines. I can even get not being into jazz but funk???

These are all valid because music tastes are subjective. Strip away the genre, image, personality, hype, and even the song meaning, and what’s left is the sound. I love how the musicians here describe what they don’t like about the sound itself.

I just never liked a kpop song, find it very hard to understand why it is famous
Even though i don't hate pop as much

Kpop is thrash
You just gotta find the right Kpop artist. It’s the most diverse and experimental form of pop music so there’s a lot to discover. The sound of Kpop ranges anywhere from pop to hip-hop, rock, metal, r&b, jazz, blues, funk, edm, etc. Heck, Kpop was invented by a metal artist of all people. It could be you don’t like the Korean lyrics? I know people who can’t get into it for that reason alone.

This is what happens when you ask the question to 15 content creators and not to 15 musicians. Peace...
Yep
Periphery and clean vocals almost made me throw my phone
Your vids are very enjoyable
Taylor swift needs to be mentioned because that stuff makes me want to rip all my hair out every time i hear it
Yess I 100 percent agree. She is so incredibly tedious. For a while i kept hearing "Shake it out" at supermarkets, and I had to hum loudly so I couldn't hear it. People looked at me like a crazy person but at least I couldn't hear it :) .
I try my best not to be a music snob but Taylor Swift, Kpop and most modern pop all drive me crazy . I do however believe that if someone loves something they should be allowed to enjoy it . I don't expect people to love the bands I'm into but I couldn't hang out with people who only listen to pop . I love classical music and rock and metal and lots of genres . I just don't see the appeal of pop.
Boring, annodyne, soulless, unexiting... etc.
and the list goes on and on...
It's really interesting to me how almost everyone has a unique opinion and there is very little crossover.
Some of this may sound kinda crazy but I get them. Like the Jazz/Funk one got me saying " What are you on about? " but I get it. I feel is the same thing as me snoozing hard at any neoclassical guitar players (except for the usual exceptions yknow), I wouldn't labeled it as " hate " but as " jesus I could be hearing something way more interesting " lol. And the Primus one is crazy too but I get it as I would get it if someone said they hate Buckethead or Mr. Bungle. This is a cool vid that is surely gonna stir some beehives in the comments for sure.
but ure right. neoclassical is shit. mindlessly playing arpeggios with cool effects and acrobatics up and down the fretboard isnt music. but how do you even call yourself a musician if you hate jazz? i dont get that. like you hate pat metheny, wes montgomery, john coltrane, herbie, scofield, etc... like at that point i cant call you a musician sorry.
Nice to see you again Mr.Rumdy
I laughed really hard on 1:52. That tuve is a classic on parties here in Chile 😂
That was wild! How can you hate funk and jazz as a whole?
Also, primus? Michael jackson? Woah!
my thoughts exactly hahaha, and Oasis?!?
I agree with not jazz and Primus. Some funk is OK. Some MJ is OK. Just peoples' personal tastes. I totally despise 99% of the Dead's music, but if people like it more power to them.
Most of it is very very boring. Both styles are great when paired with something, but by themselves its a yawn fest.
Yeah i cant really understand hating an entire genre, Statistically speaking theres probably atleast a few songs in it that youd like if you heard them.
I can't stand jazz but I appreciate it's influence, especially with drummers in metal. I don't care for saxophones or "jazz" instruments though I think. Funk is ok if I'm in a really good mood.
I want to lock Angel in a room and play Primus' entire discography
Make sure to get video if you can 😂

I personally have artists and genres I dislike, but I don't consider any music to be "bad." Different kinds of music speak to different kinds of people. Like I'm not into mumble rap, but if listening to it gives you chills and emotions, then that's good because enjoying music is a good feeling.

Modern country music. Country used to be 3 chords and the truth. Now it’s more like 2 chords and a loop!
I could list of a good few put one I will mention that is in the rock/metal realm would be Polyphia. Like Tim Henson he's a great guitarist and all that when I see other bands do something that seems to be very similar I just hope it doesn't become the standard for rock/metal guitar playing. I know it won't but the back of my mind I think it would. Also sometimes his guitar playing sounds like he's overcompensating for the lack of a vocalist and instrumental bands don't have to do that like its too much.
