  • Sports Science reveals how top athletes use their bodies and skills.
The world's top synchronized swimmers Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina have an impossible stunt called The Russian Roulette, where the two move their legs at breakneck speed during a routine when oxygen levels drop dangerously.
A first-ever research by NHK has revealed that when underwater, they display abilities only aquatic mammals are known to have! Be amazed at the supreme performances of the duo metamorphosing into real mermaids, in beautiful 4K images.

Incredible doc. Always knew she was amazing and loved rooting for them at Worlds and in the Olympics. I didn't know she retired, I'll miss watching her perform. Hope her life has charted upwards since then and she's happy. ❤

I knew a man that could do laps under water. I asked him how he did it. So I started working with his help to increase my time umder water. I got to the level of 3 laps in the pool without coming up for air. I guess if they practice year round and long periods they could learn to stay under water longer and the body adapts to this. This was their evolution. It's sad that they stretch the girls and make them deal with the pain. The human body may not always be able to stretch like that. It wasn't meant too.
