The Try Guys are hanging with the USA Artistic Swimming National Team to learn about the sport formerly known as synchronized swimming. This unique mix of gymnastics, dancing, and swimming is one of only two female-only sports at the Summer Olympics - but that won’t stop the Try Guys from diving in!

It still amazes me that they can’t touch the bottom of the pool at all but can like launch ppl in the air and lift ppl
It takes a lot of force to be able to lift people out of the water like that. The hardest one I have done when I was taught by two olympians was a pyramid. Very difficult.
Treading water and egg beaters is far more powerful than you think. We used to do it all the time. People underestimate how much force it can give you. Even as novices we could propel ourselves out of the water
@@DreamBelief no one notices how strong water actually is. It takes out buildings during minor floods let alone a friggin tsunami.
@@DreamBelief yeah I'm learning to swim as an adult and after like 20 seconds treading water I'm exhausted! What these guys do is incredible!
ya i do artistic swiming and its alot
“So they took some of the hardest sports and then decided, ‘You know what would be funny? What if we did it under water?’”
💀
ik i do artistic swimming
@@urfavlollipopsame
I see the Olympics took that advice on showing average people doing Olympic sports. Makes it so much more interesting that it’s the try guys too

They should try water polo
Keith: "You must have muscles for bones"
Zach: "I have bones for muscles"
Oh my gosh, I thought he said "muscles for boats." Bones makes SO much more sense!
Wait did Zach actually say that? I can’t really hear it 😂
@@thewordsrelatetothekey6409 no lol but it would have been funny
It’d be cool to see some winter Olympic stuff in the future
I agree! Try Guys on Ice sounds hilariously painful lol
U can do swimming stuff in the winter too... If ur willing to be captain America
And some paralympics stuff!!
@@Sweetzerlandia omg I don’t know if you know this but why did Try Guys on Ice remind me of Yuri on Ice 😳😂✋
@@palmapav7776 I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT THEY SHOULD DO ICE SKATING AJDNEJ
I like how most of the time, the girls were just giggling at the Try Guys' pain. 😂
You wanna support newbies, but jeez the Try Guys are funny to watch as they try (and they definitely love to play it up when they fail) haha
They swim so close together. I mean all of it is impressive, but I’m shocked no one gets kicked.
Ohh they do get kicked that why there are so many concussions
They get kicked, punched and scratched all the time ahahaha. You get used to it after a while
OH WE DO
They get kicked!
i've gotten whacked in the face multiple times and my teammate lost her nose clip at a competition this way
as a synchro swimmer, these comments make me very happy. people actually get to see that its not just floating and looking pretty. it should be appreciated more
yes as a synchronized swimmer also i agree
I've got a question: Do you guys wear false lashes while you perform?
No, we don't wear false lashes. They could fall off in the water or get in our eyes.
@@similarbell3450 That's what I said I struggle with them in air (I do drag so my lashes are bigger then normal tho lol) and my cousin insisted y'all do!
@@ebidy Are they an artistic swimmer? Because if they are, they're team might. But most if not all swimmers don't wear them.
"Like a t-rex showing off my belongings ..." 😂
Genuinely wondering what they would score if they were to compete at the olympics with this routine. I'm guessing something like 3/200, which would nicely show how impressive this sport is.
If they were children, it may have possibly gotten 30 (out of 100) IMO
If they qualified to compete in Olympics then they must be pros ,no?
To be qualified for the Olympics you have to be one of the best at the other competitions and you at least need 150/200 but if the would be judged in the Olympics standarts they would get 1/200
They would get a 0.
So weird seeing a hilarious, talented, tight-knit group of people that I have idolised, loved, watched and supported since the beginning...
try to teach the try guys how to swim.
Lol underrated comment!
lol
Pfft
I see what you did there... and I support it. :) lol.
awww, who forced you to watch?
Artistic swimming is SO HARD. People have no idea. I was a championship swimmer, with many years experience, a water polo player, and I completed comprehensive water safety and deep water rescue training, and I could only do half a routine. It's basically underwater gymnastics, and the amount of resistance you have to generate just to stay in place is outrageous. It's incredibly freaking hard.
Yes! I was a competitive swimmer and life guard for years. I had also practiced ballet for 9 years when I started synchro and thought I must be a natural. I was so WRONG, I really struggled.
And outsiders don't realize that you're basically having a head ache during the entire competition because the gelatin has been pulling on your scalp for hours.
I never thought much about it before, but wheb I did it never did come off as easy to me. I mean just normal swimming is hard for me can't imagine trying to do like tricks in the water or dance moves or what ever.
I just love this part.
Zach: what did they push off of
(Innocently)them: water
Ok, this one was hilarious! Watching them attempt those swan legs, I was crying. That aside, very cool to see what's going on under the water. I cannot imagine the isolation of the body like that. Serious skill and coordination necessary.
olympics x try guys is the collab we never knew we needed
The ending was adorable
“Does one of you want to be Ned?”
*a very hard* YES.
New Ned! New Ned! NEW NED!!! lol
Yeah we actually do need a new Ned now 😅
Omg I completely forgot about this comment. Aged like fine wine 💀
the ned joke aged so well, fine wine
“You want to be Ned?” “Yes” lmao
The new Ned would have to reference his/her special someone and play Star Wars games as Ned did.
i’ve honestly really related with Keith this whole series. he had to wear goggles with the nose cover. he’s afraid of heights and struggled with rock climbing. he and Zach are the real troopers in this series imo
"Shawn Mendes or Harry Styles?"
"Harry Styles"
*shocked Eugene face*
lmao what did Eugene expect that's the only correct answer 😂
i think he didn’t expect them all to unanimously say harry together 😆
we stan a great opinion
Exactly
Not really. Styles is so overrated
This is the most impressive sport the guys have done so far in the series.
I genuinely believe this is the hardest sport they've tried so far 🤯 so difficult plus the possiblity of drowning
I JUST REALIZED THEY WORE THEIR COLORS 🙈❤️💚💙💜
I love how they chose 2 of the female-only sports to “Try” just continuing to challenge that toxic masculinity 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Artistic swimming is no longer a women's-only sport. There is a mixed duet category that they didn't talk about and more and more men are getting into the sport which is a change I love to see, as an artistic swimmer! Hopefully they're able to compete in other events soon and at wider competitions! :)
Okay, Keith at the end with the towel around his neck and his hair all messed up…yes! Sam, please consider this a thirst tweet.
Try guys fan spotted 😁😁
Pls same specially at 18:21 that smile 😳
he looks better than eugene 😭
Keith floats to well for this that's why he is having so much trouble.
Bless the Olympics for giving us a chance to see Eugene in a Speedo again
This woulda been a great time to unveil Try Guys merch Swimwear!
This is on YT Premium though, and not even on their channel! 😂
@@Scrofar youtube original*
@@river9899 It was Premium but then they changed it.
THE GUYS ACTUALLY DID VERY WELL FOR NEVER DOING IT BEFORE!!!
I bet as an Olympian level athlete it’s very eye opening to see people older than them try their sport for the first time, especially with most of the Try Guys free routine being the baby moves they learned when they were starting at a much younger age. I can’t imagine the pride that must fill them up seeing how far they’ve come at so young.
There are some adult intro to artistic programs taking all ages 18+ :) ... but you gotta be able to swim!
Ok what even, the sport started as a women’s sport in Ancient Rome, then it became competitive and men took it away and didn’t let women compete, then they just threw it back us and were like ok fine have it, and stopped treating it as a sport, like what?
It is a highly competitive sport still tho... How is it in the Olympics then 👁️👄👁️
welcome to men!
Ikr? And I also think that both this and rhythmic gymnastics should have men compete in them too!
Why do men-
@@micheal2458 Absolutely! Why the heck are they restricted to female athletes only?? 🤨 It would be amazing to see what guys could do with rhythmic gymnastics!
well, they could use the "new Ned" now...
This sport is honestly so impressive. I feel absolutely terrible that I have never heard of this sport until now. This sport is definitely one that I can see being underappreciated, but not under appreciated by me anymore. This sport is definitely one I will be looking forward to the most come the Olympics.
Ned sounding like a fussing squidward while the coach stretched his leg was great
I'm Zach, Zach is me: "what's a core"
Ned loves a bad idea. Always. 🤣
Also the pure exertion on the faces of the try guys as they try some of the moves in the water shows how impressive these athletes are. Team USA makes it look so graceful and effortless.
Why is this so much cooler than I thought it would be lol
Definitely one of my favorite episodes of the series!
The collab we didn't know we needed but definitely did
This is so cute!! You can tell how much the team enjoyed this.
I was so surprised to hear Harry Styles in this, I choked on my coke.
Sameee I was so surprised
I mean.. he is one of the top singers in the world and all
@@aur9035 I know, I'm a fan of him, that's why I was pleasantly surprised lol
I NEED the Try Guys to attempt water polo next!!!
No, they will get very hurt.
that sport literally looks impossible.
I guess this is the Olympic Committee's answer to people going "can we see a random civilian try it so we know how professional they are"
I never will ever understand how people look down on certain sports especially artistic swimming and gymnastics. Like seriously it's so incredible how strong and talented and hard working all the teams are - it's insane! I'm not a huge sports fan but I always ensure to watch gymnastics and artistic swimming for the dedication and respect they don't get but genuinely deserve ♥
It's **Misogyny~**
Misogyny.
18:17
I wonder if she still wants to replace Ned
These boys brought so much delight and joy to these hard working athletes (and us, obviously) LOL this was an awesome idea!!
lol to the last few seconds....
they actually did great in the final presentation!!
I love how they featured normal people try sports, it makes me appreciate how complicated the sport is and give me an idea how passionate athletes are in their chosen sport
Definitely! I actually shouted YES out loud when they managed to (sort of) successfully launch Zach into the air at the end of their routine! 😁
Love how they tested flexibility on Ned... the one with the bad knee...
I totally forgot that this was not a Try Guys video.
Great finale to the collab I never knew I needed! BIG TIME TRY GUYS
what a delightful series, way to save the best for last, lol
This was really fun to watch. I tried practicing the egg beater kicks after watching and it's hard! It's no joke!
Ohh I hope they're back for the winter Olympics, this was so fun!
Also, the girls were so nice :-)
I was sports nanny for the number 2 artistic swimmer in Canada.. I got to watch a couple of her meets and they were amazing!!
What’s a sports nanny? I’m curious …
@@crassenti I’m guessing a nanny that takes the kid to sports and stuff
Thank you try guys for giving me more insight and appreciation for this sport. I was a competitive swimmer for five years, so I can only imagine how difficult this sport is but I'd love to try it one day. Hope you all will try competitive swimming or water polo next :D
FINNALLY ITS FREE! PATIENCE IS KEY PEOPLE
There’s something nice about seeing a group of grown men appreciate the difficulty of this sport
If Becky (Keith's wife) was there, you'll definitely hear a female voice screaming *"SHAWN MENDES!!!"* in the background for a whole minute!
So proud for their Spanish coach, Andrea Fuentes 🇪🇸🇪🇸🥰🥰 they did such an amazing performance!!
I would love it if they tackled sports that people have a lot of misconceptions of. Like people think walkathons are wierd looking or table tennis as easy. I would be great of normal people would be able to appreciate how much work actually goes into these stuff
Walkathons are weird looking though lol but still very difficult
I have a friend who does speed walking, the rules are you can’t bend your legs and both feet have to be on the ground in some way, people always laugh at her and other people who do it Olympic level, but some of the mile times for them are faster than the mile times for some runners
I wish there are more episodes…
because of this video I've gone down the rabbit hole of artistic swimming and am obsessed this is such an underrated sport! thanks for making this video and introducing it to so many new people!
I did syncro for 8 years and went to junior Olympics once before quitting- as a long term fan of the Try guys and a previous “artistic swimmer”, I can’t express how fricking happy this made me feel.
They should try diving next!!!!
TOM DALEY TEACHES THEM DIVING PLS
Look at them smile as they watch the guys perform😂
It takes amateurs, trying the sport, to illustrate just how difficult this sport is. Bravo!!!!
That intro lmfao how Keith got into the pool, that's me XD
fantastic!! ive always loved watching this sport but now i finally understand better how it works and its even more impressive! love how you guys are representing underappreciated sports! this is why i love the try guys
I think all sports have their difficulties but this is just insane!!! :0
My favorite one they did, by FAR, I loved this so much! Those swimmers are so freaking impressive 🤩
I'm so so so happy they are showing support for artistic swimming. It's legit my all time fave to watch, these women don't get enough recognition for how holistic they are in their craft and how well rounded they are as athletes.

Try
I can't unsee Ned as Weenie the Pooh
This is like dejavu. I was a synchronized swimmer from 1998-2003 and haven’t heard all these terms in YEARS.
I’ve now seen the try guys in a new light 😂 Them swim suits were on fleek 🤌🏼👌🏽
I'm an artistic swimmer! Due to it being a very small sport, I've met most of the national team members shown in the video. Super sweet people! One of the ladies shown in the silver swimsuits when they explained the rules was my coach too!
Only Keith would choose Shawn Mendes over Harry Styles
I think Eugene would choose Shawn Mendes too haha, so would I, Shawn is so gorgeous and talented
I would too tbh hahahaha
As a artistic swimmer I love how hard they try that warms my heart
My coach competed in the 2012 Olympics from China for duet. My other coach competed in 1996 and won the first perfect routine in the Olympics and in synchro history. Shout out to the the Santa Clara Aquamaids!💗
"You must have muscles for bones"
The one girl's face is like, "oh,no! He knows!"
😜
Perfect finale, this was the best episode by far
8:15 "Ned loves a bad idea." 👀👀👀
If you've never seen an Esther Williams movie, you absolutely should. They don't all age very well obviously, but the swimming is magnificent.
Ok but Ned’s legs though
Completely took me by surprise💀😂
I've never been so happy being a YT Premium member for 1 a year than NOW. Yeahhhh
I love Keith’s goggles.
Only Zach would wear a hat to a pool.
I thought daft punk broke up
Keith 😅😅😂🤣🤣🤣
i love the team's dynamic with the try guys honestly they all look so friendly with each other
I just gained so much more respect for my high school friends that did artistic swimming
У вас парни занимались синхронным плаванием?
Cant get over the opening where they tried getting into the water 😂
Dude this gave me very much pompa loopas dancing in the best way possible
Honestly so impressed with how well they did lol I love watching artistic swimming! much more than other olympic sports:)
So incredible that they do all that in the water with such grace.
The best thing about the try guys is bring joy to so many people, those ladies on team USA we’re laughing and happy to share their sport to the world
OH MY GOSH.
I would never be able to do that.
Their capabilities are beyond my imagination.
Keep it up, all of you artistic swimmers ❤
12:15 they're still in sync 😂😂
Amazing athletes
It's such a great idea to see the different sports like this. I have so much respect for every single person participating at the olympics!
This reminds me of the geese in the Aristocacts trying to teach O'Malley how to swim
I really hope they do this series again for the winter olympics. I wanna see them ice skate!
