Hey good video. Just wanted to add on a little bit. Before putting the new bolt in you may want to check your threads on the inside to make sure it is clean. I neglected to do this and my bolt seized up on me and ended up snapping flush with the engine. Long story short I have to have the engine torn apart and a machine shop get the broken bolt out. Cost me a pretty penny and took a couple months out of my riding season last year! Always make sure the threads are clean on any reinstallation on our bikes! Keep pumping out the knowledge Bryan.

GREAT information brother. I believe I halfway remember when that happened. Think I may have seen a post on the forum or Facebook about it. Definitely a good idea to be sure that threads are clear, especially on a stud bolt that actually seats in place and has nowhere for anything to go but down inside the bore. Appreciate you sharing the knowledge with everyone brother, wish you didn't know it from firsthand experience. Stay safe out there brother, and hope that exhaust finally goes soon for you!!

@@RSWarriorBryan Ive got a bunch of stuff to finish up but things are coming together! Unfortunately the bike gods had other plans for me today. My studs are really seized up and I'm trying not to sheer it off. I'm thinking of threading the first nut then using some loctite on the second, letting it cure then backing the first nut until it hits the one with the loctite and breaks the stud free.

You could try adding a little heat to break them loose. An induction heater would work perfectly, but most people don't have one on hand. They do make a tool for actually removing them as well if you're having problems with the two bolt method. Of course both options require more money spent and that's never the route I prefer to go. Keep me posted on this and I'll try and see if there are any other options I can find that may work for you as well.

RS Warrior Bryan got both bolts off today! Picked up some Liquid Wrench and soaked the studs, hit em with a hammer and a center punch, applied some heat and used a stud extractor as I didn’t have threads left on either the studs or the nuts and it came right out! I used the same approach for the throttle side but instead of the stud extractor, the two bolt method worked like a charm🤘🏼

Very nice! Glad you were able to get them out without snapping one. Snapping one off in there is worst case scenario and is exactly what we're trying to avoid by changing them out. One step closer to riding season now!

Well mate you now have a 2003 Roadstar 1600 owner subscribed! I really enjoy watching your channel, you have a terrific way of explaining things. I guess the warrior isn’t all that different from the Roadstar. So here I am. Great work Buddy!😊

Hell yeah!! That's awesome! My biggest downfall with this channel is how narrow I made my own audience. Had to go for the bike that was discontinued and nobody owned anymore. 🤣 I appreciate you subscribing and hopefully I can bring out a few videos that will be able to cross over for your Roadstar. Thanks for watching an commenting. Stay safe out there brother!

Bryan. love how informative ur videos are. I’m fixing to get my fork seals replaced on mine. Trying to make up my mind if I’m Gona try to do them myself or have them done at dealer for 400 at dealer. Oem seal kit is 35 bucks oil and dust seals for both forks. I know there is a write up on the forum. How are you fork seals that would be a great helpful video for you to do. I’d send u a seal kit...... just saying lol.

Man, that's an awesome offer! I was planning on getting them done this coming winter and doing it as my next season of winter mods. I've been pretty fortunate to have mine still holding up without any leaks.

I am changing headers now on my fz07 - 3 of the 4 nuts came out nice and easy but the 4th one siezed up and snapped the stud... thankfully I have about 1" of bolt to work with to try and get it out of the engine and replaced with a new stud... if I have enough thread I'll try the two bolt method above... has anyone had any luck with using vicegrips to clamp down on them and get them out? wondering if I have to resort to different methods of getting mine out since it snapped

Thanks for the video Bryan! Your editing is stellar now in your videos!
I’m lowering my Warrior front and back Friday. Any word on GD? He ghosted his subs.

Haha! Guess this answers my last reply! Lowering the front and rear together is usually the best idea. Lowering just one will throw the handling off a little bit.
As for GD, he is supposed to be getting an Indian Challenger from what I heard. He doesn't post a whole lot, but did see him on Facebook the other day defending himself from people that were talking shit about him in the Warrior group. I imagine when he gets the Indian, he'll be back on youtube making more videos.

RS Warrior Bryan bro, I loveeeee my warrior!! Yea my bike is low AF now!.i seen his pics on Facebook giving me the idea that he went with Indian. I think I’m going to go with a 240 rear and a new swing arm. Is there any other place that I can get a nice back fender besides Christok?

    • @RSWarriorBryan
      @RSWarriorBryan  4 роки тому +1

I may try for the wide tire this next winter. Haven't decided yet. If I do, that will be one of the only mods I get done. There is a guy on eBay who makes fenders for the Warrior as well. Believe he is from Lithuania though. You could always chop and shorten yours, but that takes some good metal work and even though I went to school for welding, I don't think I'd want to tackle that one myself. 🤣 Christok is definitely good though. His work is phenomenal and can do some bad ass custom shit.

It’s looks like you took off everything around the battery box and the oil reservoir…that back exhaust stud is in a tight area

Your studs came out almost too easy. Did you heat it up before hand? Mine don’t seem to wanna crack free. I’m afraid of snapping the stud off

    • @RSWarriorBryan

I didn't have to use any heat at all, but if yours are stuck, you try a little bit and see if that and possibly some pb blaster or something like that will help to free it up. Usually the anti sieze does a decent job of keeping the studs from sticking, but may not be the case on yours.

RS Warrior Bryan Great video brother, as always. I'm afraid mine didn't go as easy as yours though. LOL I ended up shaping the stud. I got about 3/8 to 1/2 inch outside so I tried heating it up and put a vise grip on it with no results. I had to walk away from it before I made if worst. I was getting a bit frustrated. I'll give it another shot tomorrow after work. I'll appreciate any ideas you may have. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Have you tried any penetrating oil like ob blaster etc? I'd let that soak overnight, if not. Tomorrow, try heating up around the bolt, and keeping the bolt as cool as possible. Want to expand the area around the bolt. Then, try hitting it with a hammer a few times and seeing if that will help to break it loose. If you can fit the stock nut on, with a smaller nut above to hold it in place, you could try and use an impact on it. May have to take a nut and grind down each edge enough to make it smaller than the stock exhaust nut. Then that may halp to either break it free, or shear it off even. Then, you'll be forced to drill it out, which is a whole other beast. There is a guy who just did it though and found a bit that really helped him get into the tight space to get it done. If you end up needing to go that route, let me know and I'll figure out exactly what it was and how he went about getting it done. I'm sorry yours gave yoh a harder time than they should have. Hopefully after this, they'll never need to be replaced again, and be sure to use the anti sieze, just in case. Hope that helps out a little and gets you out of the bind. Good luck!

RS Warrior Bryan, Hello agin sir, yesterday I tried heating it up. I had to walk away so I sprayed some good penetrating oil and let it soak over night. This morning before heading out I soaked it again. We’ll see tonight how it goes. Thanks again brother.
