    There is something special about Trek. I appreciate post apocalyptic fiction and find it fun, but we need hope. Hope for a better future, a future where mankind is united in greater pursuits beyond ourselves and our pettiest considerations. Hope for a future free of deprivation and destitution. Hope for a future free of discrimination and antipathy. A future where we tread among the stars, boldly going where no one have gone before.

      I was 7 when I first saw Star Trek. A civil war had just started, I didn't understand English so well. I worshiped Spock, for his control over his emotions. I pretended I was a crew of the Enterprise, visiting earth, and the horrors of the civil war were just a movie. It worked.

    Star Trek is truly on the best things created. It’s inspirational and actually has a moral and message. It’s an amazing and perhaps underrated story that more people need to have respect for and watch. I truly believe that if more people watched Star Trek and learned from it, the world would be a better place.

      @joeschmoe21 3 місяці тому

      @@honeychurchgipsy6 The 'right' hate it? Where did you get that? It is true that there many 'Left' fantasies in Star Trek. Like a Black 'captain', 'chief engineer', 'scientist' etc. I am in Aerospace. *I have never seen a black engineer or scientist (except for DEI hires, who did not know anything, and just collected a salary).* There is nothing wrong with such fantasies. But showing Black men as 'chief-engineer' will not make more black men to become engineers. There was a reason why slaves came from West Africa. Hollywood cannot change genetics or evolution. While that makes some startrek episodes cringe-worthy, they are easily ignored.

    In 1967, I was four and we had a tiny color TV. Star Trek made a huge impression on me. I loved the series more than Rat Patrol and Batman. I was enthralled with more than the opening music. I thought that Capt. Kirk was the greatest man next to my Uncle Travis who came to visit us from Vietnam in his highly starched khakis. William Shatner is up there with Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Steve McQueen and Paul Newman.

The hope and wonder it brought us may have disappeared from the world with each loss but, it will forever live grow and encourage us to share it with more, to further spread the same to all that we may.

    The message and vision of Star Trek embodies hope for humanity - and celebrates the spirit of innovation, exploration, and discovery. Ricardo Alexis Nolazco Contreras yea, it just has that powerful, and overall determined vibe that you get from Star Trek. I don't like Voyager that much, but it's theme has to be one of the best themes for S.T out there

    With all the major captains in the series being still alive I always thought it would be awesome if they did some sort of Captain Reunion special in one of the current star trek franchises.
    Bring Kirk back somehow, then Picard, Janeway, Sisko, then some sort of time anomalie brings in Archer. Potentially Michael Burnham and Sulu could at least make an appearance, but the special would focus on those who were Captain throughout the entire run on their particular series.
    This is an opportunity which needs to be seized as Shatner is in his early 90s.

    May I throw out there to check out the Shuttlepod show? I only just recently found it, because algorithm only works in opposite land, I guess. It's Trip & Reed interviewing actors and behind the scenes people. Mist recently it was the makeup artist that designed a lot of the aliens. So far, everyone has been incredibly interesting!

    Love the poster and having of the Captains in unique uniforms of their era. Janeway pretty much grab the DS9 suit as standard bearer but Sisko getting the First Contact as they use it till the end of the series was fantastic.

    Its kinda funny that in the pic all the captains look confident and ready, then there is Archer who looks confused...really captured the feel of Enterprise :)

    • @Rorr59
      @Rorr59 7 років тому +24

      the thing that most people forget about Enterprise is that that was the beginning, they were just making it up for everyone else to follow. Talk about real pressure, every Starship captain to follow had more guidelines than Archer, he was always having to think on his feet.

      Your right, Scott Bakula as Archer seems a bit confused in this collage. Captain Sisko, Avery Sisko, seems to have a "what ever" attitude. Those two shots were probably stills from episodes. The others of Kirk, (Shatner), Picard, (Stewart) and Janeway (Mulgrew) seem to be actual promo shots.
