I'd like to say one thing. I fly pretty aggressively with not only my 150s and 230s v2, but my 330s is definitely the one I find myself using the most. I really don't use safe mode ever anymore. I'm mostly stunt one and stunt two, and I'm sure as you know, stunt two on the 330s is just an absolute animal in every single aspect. I do fly mostly inverted and do the loopy loops and all that, but I would not consider myself an expert by any means, I would say I'm intermediate at best. You are always so humble and referring to your Heli piloting skills / experience level as if you're a novice or beginner. This is just not true. You are much better than you're giving yourself credit for, sir. You're a fantastic fixed wing aircraft pilot come up and you are very good with the helicopters as well even in stunt one or stunts to you're still able to maintain orientation, all I'm trying to say is that your heli skills are better than you're giving yourself credit for! Awesome vid! I think this model and the blade 450s are basically a 330s, but everything is carbon fiber and forged. I think the motor is a little more powerful, but it's obviously a lot lighter than the 330 s. This model here in the video and the 450 S I think I'm getting the name of it alright if I'm not please correct me are the only two I don't own, the 450s the price tag is up there and I get it just because of the weight and materials used carbon fiber. Can't wait to get a 450 s so I can compare it to the 330s, which is already an animal, which I'm sure you know already lol.

I just got a Blade Nano S3 and was binding it to my $950 IX14 and had to chuckle. I wanted a living room flyer so I could get some practice before I dive into a 3D machine again. The computerized radio is amazing compared to my old DX7. I haven't got to fly my Ranger 1800 yet but good weather is coming soon and I have my AMA card ready to join this little flying club only a mile from my house. Thanks for getting me interested in the hobby again. My son just lost a chunk of his inheritance :D

Thanks! 100% about SAFE - it's the deal MAKER for me. This heli also stood up to my little crash AMAZINGLY!!! I've had WAY worse damage from lighter crashes on other heli's that are "built better" - AKA, sometimes it's nice to have lighter duty parts, since the heli IS LIGHTER, and less inertia / damage on impact, as well as less BRITTLE parts.
P.S. I epoxied the landing gear part back together, and had it flying just two nights ago, a couple flights for the kids - Excellent Heli - IF you're a beginner, and not a Heli-snob ;)

In anticipation of the arrival of the new heli, watching radio setup part intently. I have my throttle hold set up opposite like you do. When I start my radio, all switches are in "0" position, I pull the "H" switch back to me to engage the rotors. (Turn throttle hold off) Yeah, that flight mode setup can throw ya for a loop!

@@BrianPhillipsRC They have enough power especially with the gyro working hard to not even notice the weight of paint. The boom is the only thing you really need to color but painting custom canopies is quite fun. I even put led's on my small helis. You're good to go pilot. I like seeing your heli skills develop. Eventually you'll stop self deprecating about your lack of heli skills. Truthfully you're already good. Just push it man.

around 30 mins in, yeah, that radio can be tricky. I have an NX8, which I learned A LOT about from watching your videos. (THANK YOU!) and sometimes it can play tricks like that on ya! lol I ordered my heli, and am now just watching the setup video for the first time. Most of the time, I get the setup from the library, however, It seems like setting it up from scratch is better sometimes. It can be daunting, but the time you take to go through it all is time well spent!
    33:18 lol I have a cat too... I get it. ;)
45:08 YEAH! My dopey radio does the same thing on my 1 and 2 S powered helis. Always has that dumb alarm goin'! Maybe if I keep watching, you'll tell me how to make that stop...
At 49:06, I REALLY wanted you to pick up the heli and see if the servos tried to stabilize it now that it said "on" in the window. Also wondered if like on some models, you have to engage the throttle first before SAFE will engage..Carry on...
Okay, I gotta say it. I HATE those dopey connectors. Here's what I did on my When I got my OMP hobbies M1, it uses a little 2s, 7.4volt, 350mAh pack. I also have a Blade, mCPXbl2, (which is kind of like this helis lil brother, as it's got two brushless motors. not direct drive though) The Spektrum battery that they recommend for that is the same for this new heli. I noticed that the Spektrum pack actually fit really loose in the battery cradle, and used a toothpick to keep it wedged in during flights. So, long story short, The OMP pack actually slides in ever so nicely, and I just changed the dumb connector on the heli to that standard 2 s connector that's on the battery. Easy to charge with one of those small, dedicated for 2 and 3s batteries chargers too. and a longer flight time is a bonus too, have my timer set at 8 mins.
Once again an AWESOME video man. Thanks for the good work.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, and really appreciate your TIME STAMPS - that's invaluable for me, since as you know, we really like to reply - this makes it so much more possible for me to FRAME the conversation. We have so many videos, and while I was admittedly there for the filming, I was also there for the filming of every other video - it's strange to think how easy it is to totally forget what I said myself - LOL ;)
I've looked over this Micro PH 2S plug, and found it would be VERY easy to just use a run of the mill, JST connector or even go for an XT30 or IC2 - either of which would be a perfect solution - WAY more current handling potential...but the JST would be a very minimal additional weight adder and still can use the "NEW" 2S 50C 300mAh packs - a WAY better pick for a "3D" heli, in my opinion. - Like this - www.jdoqocy.com/click-9240406-15735260?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.horizonhobby.com%2Fproduct%2F7.4v-300mah-2s-50c-lipo-battery-jst-rcy%2FSPMX3002S50.html
I think I MIGHT try it, since I have these Micro PH 2S to JST adapters already - www.jdoqocy.com/click-9240406-15735260?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.horizonhobby.com%2Fproduct%2Fadapter-jst-rcy-battery-jst-ph-device%2FSPMXCA327.html (which are admittedly, crazy pricey, since I can make them WAY cheaper, and get like 10 - 20 for that price - amzn.to/3uNhrwa - but, soldering isn't everyone's thing, I guess...)
Thanks for being here with us!

@hillipsRC On again tonight to sort out my Blade MCPXbl2. It has that dopey battery alert that goes off, so tuned in at 44:59 mark to sort that out. I have no clue why the heli lost it's bind. Went through horror stories today with the throttle hold. UGH! There's one you can access from the main menu while open to fly, then ANOTHR one you have to go in to System settings for, which deactivates the transmitter fature. (you know how that works) But I had to reverse the function of the "H" switch, as throttle hold was back towards me (position 1) which I don't like. then had to reverse the audio event, then had to un do the dumb warning! (I don't remember if it was THIS heli I saw you fix that on, or another one, but I got it sorted. Your help and diligence with each model you review is just top notch man. And "Camera Crew" does an AWESOME job too. I like how sometimes, she seems to have already read the instructions! ;)
Anyway, off to get that dumb low voltage alarm sorted out.
As far as the batteries and connectors go, isn't the JST plug for 1S cells? As far as not using a balance plug anyway? I'm still a little lost with all the connector nomenclature, hate to admit. I did order a zillion of those connectors from good ole Slamazon, the "2s" type, and like I said, just soldered one on to the heli and called it done. But, yes, I see the battery you put the link to, and the adapters. Here's a link to the batteries I'm using. They were originally for my OMP M1 heli. ( A REALLY nice lil heli if you haven't met one yet) Now I use them in my Blade MCpxBl2, ans my OMP M1, AND my teeny tiny lil Atomic rc car.
      www.omphobby.net/OMPHOBBY-M1-Replacement-Parts-Lithium-Battery-Set-2S-350mAh-50C-for-M1-M1-EVO-OSHM1024-p1784342.html
Funny as I couldn't find them anywhere else but on OMPs site.
Anyway, off for a quick test flight.

Okay Brian..I figured, why wait till the heli comes to program the radio? Going through with ya step by step, except I made my throttle hold position "0" for on, and back to me, "1" to fly. Also reconfigured the alarm. You rock man.. I'm at 41:39. Carry on...
35:20 Funny, I tried the vibrate thing for the timer and it scared the CRAP outta me when it went off!! I almost dropped the radio. When concentrating like some of us have to, so hard on flying, till we get better ;) to have that thing start vibrating is freaky! lol
39:15, Camera Crew! Left me hangin.. trying to see what the screen were looking like as Brian was pushin' buttons..
    got past that hurdle..
40:27 Yup! I saw that. oops. I figured out how to get past that little hurdle. You had to make your own mix, as I thought when we first opened "Mixing", it showed at the top, "CYCLIC > THROTTLE", so I was messin' around a little there, but when I saw it led me to nothing like the screen you were looking at when Camera Crew came back to work (JK) anyway...got it... almost done!....
41:03 I know I previously pointed this one out, but extra funny now that I'm actually going through it with ya.. I L'dOL!
44:58. Here is where we part ways for the evening. The alarm section. I think MAYBE cuz you've bound yours already (remember, I don't have mine yet :( ) That I don't have a "Smart ESC" option in my telemetry screen. So I guess I'm done for now, but I'll be back when I get my heli to do the forward programing bits. I was able to use that info to shut the alarm up on a whole bunch of other 1 and 2S powered planes and helis I have though, so that's sweet!
Have a great evening. I'll be back when the heli comes!
PS.. Here's a challenge for ya.. Create an audio event for your throttle hold that actually says, "Throttle cut on" and "off". Took me forever last night, to get it to NOT say two things at each switch position! lol

@@BrianPhillipsRC Heli came yesterday, and I had no idea. Living here in Southern Florida, I went outside last night at 11:16 to watch the rocket launch which I can see from my house, I noticed a box on the front porch! I brought it right in to the workbench and removed the connector and soldered on my 2s connector, no issues there. Battery tray is REALLY tight with the OMP 350 Mah battery I'm using, but a file is so far taking care of that. I was able to cram one in for a maiden, and it seemed to have flown pretty nicely!
Will post this fact on a separate comment, so it doesn't get lost in the weeds here, But, as far as binding goes, I used the "Hold it upside down for 15 seconds to enter bind mode" method! worked perfectly!
Gonna go finish hogging out that battery tray just a liiiiitle bit more.

Brian you missed some of the setup information.
To configure RPM and Battery Infomation:
    1. Select the Telemetry menu from the Function List (DX, NX
series radios) or Model Setup (iX series radios)
    2. Select Smart ESC
    3. Set Total Cells: 2
    4. Set LVC Alarm: 3.4V Set Alarm; Voice/Vibe
    5. Enter the values for the magnetic pole count of the motor
(14 pole) and the gear ratio (1:1)
    6. Set the Status and Warning reports to suit your needs. We
recommend setting Warning Reports: 10 Seconds.
When your transmitter is connected to a receiver sending
Smart Data, the Smart Logo will appear on the main screen.
Scroll past the servo monitor to see Smart telemetry

Yes. We apparently did the 180, and it wasn't maybe as memorable as we had hoped ;) This heli seems to be more like it's bigger counterparts, in it's flight characteristics, which I really like. My only issue, if there were one, would be I'd love to see a JST battery lead rather than the 2S Micro PH connector. This might allow us to use the new, higher C 2S 50C packs, BUT after giving it a fresh look, it would be SUPER easy to mad this...even the lesser capable RC enthusiast would be able to do it in no time. This might help a bit whit POWER PUNCH for heavier 3D experiences - of which I probably won't be experiencing any time soon, due to my lack of skills.
Also, wonder if the heli would take 3S? That would be AWESOME! Please don't take this as a challenge, unless you want to let me know if she survives ;)

I think you hit the nail on the head, so your and my opinions aren't too far off. The Blade products are GREAT for people like me - plane pilots looking for a gateway drug into heli's (and newb's) - but there's no doubt that Goosky is making some great heli's too. Unfortunately, when you crash a Goosky, like I will (LOL/CRY) it will NEED parts. I can't believe this thing stood up to my crash, which happened toward the end of the outside flight. P.S. I epoxied it back together, the landing gear broke on BOTH sides. I thought it was just the ONE side, but I was wrong, even still had it fixed in 5-10 minutes, then taped the canopy back up from inside - nobody will be able to tell, unless they look OR see the video we published for the world to enjoy - LOL
      Thanks for the comment!

@BrianPhillipsRC Once u buy a Sab, align, goosky, xlpower, Tron, Steam, or any other kit from a Heli brand; u won't look back at Blade Helis. The sheer machining, manufacturing craftsmanship, on these kits are amazing. It's like artwork.
Also I'm not afraid of crashing, but my wallet is! Lol dude 700 size blades and parts are expensive! I like crashing the smaller stuff. I have a designated beater heli. The smaller the cheaper.

I disagree strongly that a Goosky S1 will need more parts than the Infusion 120. For a start, the S1 has metal blade grips and swashplate. I had a complete nightmare with the mcpx bl2. Parts for the Infusion 120 cost 2-3 times of that of the S1. Not only that, repeated crashes will damage the all in one board. If anything, this is likely to turn into a nightmare if you crash a lot.@hillipsRC

@derekwong1899 I have no issues with my goosky helis. My s2 is my beater. I love it! It's so much better than a blade 230 or fusion 360. I crash it, fix replace parts all the time. And parts are cheaper Than blade.
