Your videos are very detailed and you going over. Every single aspect helps a ton of people. Thank you so much for taking the time to be very detailed. You've helped a lot of people. Spectrum directions usually suck. So having a gone over like this really helps keep up the great work
The best video ever on a three sixty and setting up the panic recovery and everything in the last bit of the video will help a ton of people including me thank you.
Just assign your timer to "SWITCH H" (throttle hold) and your timer will start/stop as you toggle the hold switch on and off. Works for me and its super simple. I personally don't like it associated with the gimbals. Great video! Thanks
Great video really nice explanation of the process of the settings, also nice heli,I will get one someday,I do have the 480 fusion, which is a great heli
Thanks, and hope to do some more so I can get some more experience under my belt! These heli's are so much easier to fly now-a-days, but unlike their GPS controlled "drone" heli counterparts, this one can actually be flown when you're out of SAFE...something I LOVE!
Good job! Thank you for showing every detail. Big note: If you download the program file for the radio the same change has to be made to the gear switch to fmode. so glad I checked after watching your video!!!
My God Brian you're overthinking it for radio set up ! just follow the manual you're confusing the hell out me ,I'm just learning spectrum.... I trust them for basic radio and heli setup (don't you??)
48:32 I rewound a bit, and I see you've got sort of the same issue I do, but with "Flight mode 1", and as you were switching the flight mode switch, talking about the pitch moving, it still said "Flight mode 1", and didn't change as you flipped switch. Mine does that too...gonna keep watching... 50:01, YEAH! See how it said "HOLD" for like, a split second!? Well, Mine's not workin' like yours for some reason. I have an NX-8, and just tonight did the software update, but pretty sure that shouldn't make a diff. As for now, guess I'll just have to deal with it. It flies okay for now, but I'll need to figure this out somehow. Can't get it to display flight modes when I flip the switch, to allow me to select whether I want stability on or off in that flight mode. Not a clue how you did it as I followed to the T.
I have an older Spektrum DX6i transmitter that I’m wondering if it would work. I looked through the manual online and didn’t see it listed in the programming section. Still possible to do ya think? It’s a good transmitter…. Just hate to buy a new one if I didn’t need to
53:38....iyunno how the hell ya did that. lol After a little messing around, I switched in setup, switch that was supposed to be "gear" to "inhibit", and now I can at least go from hold mode, where I turned stability off, to "Normal", where I turned mine on. It wouldn't go to flight modes 1 or 2, which I don't really care about as I'll probably never ever even try any 3D shenanigans. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait till tomorrow to try it out.
ACK! Goin' NUTZ ovah here! Starting at 52:13, duplicating each step you take, and my radio refuses to change from "Stunt mode 2" 52:45, my radio won't say "Hold", it does for a SPLIT SECOND, but then goes to "Flight mode 2" and I cna't figure out how to change that. Like I said, followed you to the T, channel assign and everything. (Mine was set up NOT on Gear as well, just like yours.) So, anyway, kinda stuck now!
Hi Brian, Greetings from New Zealand 😊 I just got a blade 360, as a result of your review. Did you get full esc telemetry on yours? I've set mine up by the book, all works fine, but I'm not getting any telemetry from the esc back to my dx9. Ive run autoconfig on telemetry, done a rebind, but I only get rx voltage...any suggestions?
BTW, I'm not using smart batteries, so standard xt60 connector, but I have done this on many horizon hobby bnf fixed wing planes with avian esc and got full telemetry other than detailed battery information obviously...
Hi Brian, I'm fairly new to your channel & new (ish) to the hobby, but first things first, thanks for all your helpful setup videos etc, especially on the BNF stuff. Again another super helpful vid here, but of the videos I've watched, (& maybe I've just missed it), but you don't seem to use the pre-loaded models in your transmitter. I'm using an NX8 and it, (like your 10), has the 360 Smart already loaded, so why not use that as a starting point ? Thanks in advance .... Carl (Perth, Australia)
Welcome, and glad you're here with us! Yeah, I generally want to setup the plane or heli, so I understand how to do it, and not have to depend on the factory files. Hope this helps.
So can I ask … wouldn’t the factory files be exactly the same as what they suggest in the manual ? is that not the point of the pre-loaded models ? (am I missing something) ?

Hey Brian, Did you back off from building the real helicopter kit? I am wondering why you’re getting ARF helicopters nowadays. I’m sorry if you had bad headaches from a previous kit OMP M4. It’s perfectly nice helicopter. Enjoy your ARF helicopter. Just remember if you crash it, who you gonna call?
Ok got a IX12 responds is quicker than NX 10, easy to see the transmitter lite is on ,and easy to see the readings, the 12 is out of sales must go to IX14 much more money
Your Gyro in the radio is tail gain. It has nothing to do with how much Gyro is applied to the head or “auto gyro” witch is a auto rotation not a auto Gyro. It is done on your flight moves as the head speed goes up you use less Tail gain at a higher head speed than you do at a lower head speed. Setting the Gyro higher will not auto corrected anything.
@@BrianPhillipsRC yes, tail gyro setting. It goes to your “flight mode” switch for different RPM. As the RPM will determine the gain percentages you need.
Because we want to share HOW to do what we're doing. It's not always about the fastest route to success, but the way that helps me understand how the system works. I'm still learning a lot about heli's myself, and want to be proficient, especially since I answer a ton of questions (kinda like this). I've actually NEVER downloaded a model.
@BrianPhillipsRC thank you so much for responding. It was unintentional but I now realize that sounded rude. I noticed that there are quite a few things different from the manual and the dl. Have you flown with both?

I needed my hand held...and you did a MARVELOUS job at hand holding!!!! Thank You So Very Much!!!
1:04:50 "A waste of time" is what we'd all spend crashing and repairing and cursing at our radios if you didn't make such great videos! lol

I had the same problem you did with stability, and you solved it for me. The manual doesn't cover it.
You kept dropping hints of a possible 700 size as much as that would be cool I also still like the little toy ones you can fly around the house.
throttle trim all the way down? to keep timer from starting
Brian - please help me select best to buy for a newbie, I already have the 150S, want next size up - so Blade 330 S or Blade 360 S???

I am wondering why you’re getting ARF helicopters nowadays.
I’m sorry if you had bad headaches from a previous kit OMP M4. It’s perfectly nice helicopter.
Enjoy your ARF helicopter. Just remember if you crash it, who you gonna call?
I didn't, just haven't had one yet. We have one on the way right now again.
I also experienced some Brian damage with setting up this helicopter.
But know if flies great.

How come you didn’t just download the preset model already in your radio?

The download doesn't match the manual. I tried that first and deleted.
Yeehaw first one to like it again
Why no review of the new Losi MX?
Is Brian too truthful for Losi?
A very good firday morning to you sir in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the UK 🇬🇧
Why not use the screen color ?
Not 100% what you mean by that. Which color screen?
Why not just download the bind and fly file
So we can learn how to do it.
