If you use a cart to break the ward they won't attack you and you can still build and use them as defense. Just ram the cart against the ward till it break it takes a little while but is definitely worth it
I call them dwarves because that's what dvergr means and Haldor refers to himself as a dwarf in one of his dialogues. But you could also call them dark elves as it's synonymous with dwarf in the mythology.
Enter the black marble skulls from the mouth. You'll get an awesome spot to place down a portal once you've mined all soft tissue and filled the skull back up to a decent ground level.
for sneaking i would recommend entering any dungeon swamp or forest preferably, then just start sneaking. skeles cant be bothered to try to get to you and the draugr just cant

You can get rid of that guard in dvergr homes by throwing Eitr next to it and wait. The Sparks will destroy the Stone figuren and you can close the door before start the killing. So you can Devise the dvergr troops.

I really hope they add the other dvergr building pieces to the game. My castle is missing that Je ne sais quoi flourish that makes it look like anything other than a black hunk of marble.
Another tip you failed to mention, the devirger will fight the seekers and Gjarls, this has 2 implications. 1: You can lead those creatures back if you are overwhelmed and the garrison will help will fight them off. 2: You can lead creatures to the fort to weaken the garrison and possibly defeat them for you. I used both tactics in the beta test, the gjarl can do a serious number on the fort, its garrison and the resources within, it can even break the crate without killing everybody and they don't notice that you just stole the sap extractor from the ruined section of the outpost.
Frostner + Blackmetal round shield is the best combo... Its kinda boring (Parry + special/strong attack, parry...) but its really effective. The best tactic for soliders
