Hi mate, awesome videos so helpful. If you can't afford a 2015 are you still better off buying 2010 150 than a 2009 120? and how would a 2014 with 200k compare to a 2010 with 96k?
In the USA we can't get 120's or 150's yet as they must be 25 years old or older in order to title them and tag for the roads here. I have a 1998 Prado diesel I just purchased but am interested to know your opinion on what year of Prado is best that are 25 years old or older as I belong to a big Prado club here in the USA and would like to share the info. Thanks!
I want a petrol, love having a petrol on the beach. The Prado seems like such a great all rounder to have for going 4wding, going to the beach, going into Sydney, driving on the highway. It just suits all the boxes. I’d go for a 4.0 V6 because it’s faster. May not be able to go through water, but who cares.
FYI, Toyota have sent me a letter given me a 10 year warranty on the DPF for my 2017 Prado. I do tow a 2t caravan, I think I may need to look at at temperature gauge for my transmission, do you agree?
Fair dinkim mate i love your story telling, you might rave on a bit, if you don't mind me saying, but understand your explaining engines to some people who have no mechanical experience and think your doin a awesome job, love ya work 👍
What about a 2010 - 2012 gxl prado? Do you get anything more than a 2009? I’m tossing up between something newer and cleaner or older with a few more aftermarket features like a bull bar, snorkel etc Budget is about 29,000 all up
@@Fourby4Diesel cheers. Anything specific to look out for? I'd love a diesel but the price premium on-top of the current covid tax is a bit much. I don't regularly do big KMs anyway 👍 Edit: Not to worry, I found your other vids! 👌
Hey Anth, do you know if the current Hilux suffers from the same torque converter lockup issues? Sounds like the update model due out in August is getting a performance boost, an extra 20Kw & 50Nm. Bigger turbo? I guess this will carry over to the Prado. Cheers.
@Fourby4Diesel would you say the 120 is miles better? I want a 120 with a locker (only available in the UK with cloth seats). Where as with the 90 I can get pretty mint ones with leather, heated seats and a locker for the same money. Should I go with the 120? Are they more refined? More reliable? Please lend me your expertise.
95 series with 370k on the clock. I've put 200k on it in the last 5 years. I love it.
2015 it is thanks buddy 👍
Greetings from Costa Rica, Central America! I love my manual 300cc, 5L-E engine, SWB (2-door) GX Prado. Almost 130000 kms. No Turbo :)
the best and most reliable you can get. In congo there no better engine.
150 V6 for me Anthony. Not a diesel fan. I'm getting 12.5 average. Ezy pezy to maintain too. Great vid.
LOVE my 90 series... over 300km zero issues

2008-2009 120 V6 GXL or VX should be the one for you then, I have a 2005 V6 120

Have a 2019 150 gx and love it
Cheers for the info! Obviously, your preference is for diesel, but what are the petrol engines like for the 120 series?
Almost As good as the diesels 😁✌️

Black 90 series RV6 from new 316,000 ks 😮😊
Why not the VX? What’re your thoughts on the V6 engine?
Please do a video about double shakles or comfort shakles in dual cab utes increasing comfort by reducing the vibration.
Did the 2015 get upgraded pistons and injector
Relaxed informative chats 👌

I would assume the transmission operates the same there’s no reason why it wouldn’t
Now you got my attention!!
2015 VX Petrol for me; KDSS suspension is worth the upgrade in my book.
How about a prado kakadu? Release date November 2017 model? Don't see many around..
No
My favourite model is the gx
2016 v6 best of the lot

Looking at a 09/10 150 series Kakadu. Worth buying? Many issues with the adjustable suspension? Thanks
Air susp & kdss can be problematic with modifications
Video coming soon
Thanks mate, so better off with the GXL hey? Keen on the Leather seats tho 😂
Hey mate, what's your thoughts on the 90 vs 120 argument?
There’s no argument at all

@Fourby4Diesel update: I got a 2009 120 prado last month, cloth seats, locker and auto 😆
What are your thoughts about 90 series prado 5vzfe
You don’t want to know
Please do share your thoughts about the 90 series.
Fourby4Diesel why ? some in aus with over 600k kms, cast iron block Too thought it was strong as
90 series, slow, lack of power, handles like crap, high fuel consumption, boring to drive unless u r a bogan
👍
Gday Anthony, have you tested the temp on a manual 2.8 Prado? BTW great video 👍
Manual are fine
KZJ95 ?? YEA YEA, old, i know, but still going strong
add a transmission oil cooler?
Band aid!
Its not the solution
@@Fourby4Diesel good topic suggestion for another video?
Best Prado to buy is a hilux. Last of the best 2015.
