The most interesting thing about EmuVR (and NRAN) imo is that once you're in front of a virtual TV playing a game, the brain gets increasingly tricked into thinking the surrounding environment is the real world and the virtual world is the one on the screen. It's like Inception but in VR. I think this is partly what makes these the most immersive VR experiences going.
Which is why, if someone were to make a game like this with an actual AAA budget, say a brand new Eternal Darkness for example, it could be utterly stunning--and terrifying: ua-cam.com/video/ZWVRXukjKUw/v-deo.html It boggles my mind there's not one major VR developer out there making anything like this. Do they not want to make money?
I keep saying this, yes! I'm so immersed in the ps2 game, that everything outside that TV is my real world. My brain is just Ignoring the headset attached to my head. It's a fun way to play with VR and really feel like you did back in those days were you'd play videogames for hours on end growing up 🙌
Man you deserve a nobel piece prize for organizing and downloading all those box arts and posters, I've only done it for 5 or so games and it takes a WHILE
It was quiet some work that's true :D but at the end it the whole room didn't took longer then a full afternoon. I sat in the room once more a few weeks ago to watch a few old jackass episodes :D
Coolest thing I've ever seen! I absolutely wish I grew up in the 90s so my teens could be in the early 2000s (or grew up in 80s so my teens could be in the 90s) But atleast now I can immerse myself using this simulator.
Now all we need to make it authentic as possible is to have your mom walk in every 10min to nag or pick up something which always happens to be right in front of the tv, your little sister not watching where she is going amd tripping over chords, and your friend from down the street that needs you to come out and play football right now and can't wait an hour 😂😂. Damn I miss the 90s😥😥😥💯💯
A quick "warning" for everyone who wants to check out the Beta : You can do anything you see here but it takes a lot of commitment and time before you have a room like this. AFAIK there are no rooms you can just download, which is simply a problem because of the obvious fact that you have to provide the games and its labels by yourself.
You are a legend for being able to make this room, it takes me FOREVER to get a decent sized emuvr room, it's gotten to the point of getting really bad games, for example a week with garfield which is a game that sucks really bad.
Yay, i get to have the childhood I never had! Better to play video games than having to take care of my sisters while my mom was at work and my dad drunk in the backyard, ah yes the american dream amirite?
My bedroom in the 90s: no posters, no elegant display of my games collection, plane white walls and beige carpet. Games were just lined up in a basket by my bed. Surprisingly, the stars on the ceiling is accurate (though mine didn't look as nice). Since I was in the basement, there was just one window and all I could see was the bottom of the hole the window was in.
I would love to see support for standalone headsets too im future. I know they would need to drastically reduce GFX Quality of the room but having your mancave with you wherever you go would be insane.
In the game Sonic 3D blast on the Sega genesis, you would access level select by tapping the cartridge to mess with the pins On a average emulator this would need a game genie set up However...

Your room looks bad ass. I can't get the posters to show up besides changing the default 2. Also, how did you get the PNG images to work for the cartridges? I followed the instructions exactly and no luck.
For labels, open Game Scanner and click Scan Games, it will attach your labels to their corresponding cartridges. If that doesn't work, you should probably check your labels are named correctly and share a relative file path. As for posters, make sure they are numbered correctly. if you named your desired image "1.png" instead of "01.png" it will NOT show up
@@MCNoFunAllowed I got the posters to work. As for the labels, the game scanning didn't work and the names match for the labels. For example: the label is called The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. @@mysticmetal5627 Two things for the label: 1. It must go in EmuVR\Custom\Labels\Nintendo 64 2. Your label must include EVERYTHING that is before .n64.
