I love the way Zephyr looks like she is taking in everything you say, she’s such an adorable dog, obviously very intelligent too. Purton Hulks has such a special magic about it- definitely a place to get the camera out. My journal was supposed to be ready today, but the printing company have made an error with the print and all of the books are having to be done again- hopefully, it won't take too long for them to reprint them.Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I found it very moving to hear about the Boats, & Shed a Tear for the men who lost their lives. It looked so Atmospheric, a picturesque silence almost thickened the air. "Thank you" so much for Sharing. I found the crab spider fascinating, never seen one before, & The Owl was Stunning 🦉🤎🕸

What a brilliant vlog. That was a great walk wasn't it. Loved the boat graveyard, so atmospheric. The barn owl footage was spectacular. We always called backswimmers "Waterboatmen". Don't know why. Funny where we get these names from. Thank you for taking us along.

The backswimmers can also be called Greater water boatmen, but they stopped being called this as the Lesser Boatmen are the ones that swim on their front and the species of water boatmen was becoming confused. I only know this as I read about it, as I thought they were water boatmen too, so they are, if you call them greater water boatmen- it's very confusing isn't it!😂🤪 Whatever they are called, I think they are amazing to watch. having trouble getting my comment on ok it looks like the summer heat here is causing internet problems its105f here in Arizona i was getting concerned that i was 14 minutes in with no insects LoL you saved my day wonderfull video the owl was spectacular and the old boats very interesting ,nice of you to help that chap find his pals name on remberance plaque ordered the book and now on tenter hooks for its arrival ,thank you for cool Breeze sounds like its going to be really warm tomorrow around 108f-110f evenings are around 70f even at 11.00 pm

WOW WOW WOW Vanessa what a wonderful vlog - the colours camerawork and music just kept getting more and more spectacular, I'll have to watch this again and again. Also loved your invitation to bring us along with you for a lovely summer. I found myself in stitches laughing at all the wrong directions, it still ended up a full and fun day - never had seen an octagonal church nor half the things in this vlog, and we've had thunderstorms and torrential rain all week, nice to get the sun. Also as others have commented too, so funny to see Zeph taking in all the details as you told her of the plans for the day! Am going to get myself a journal for xmas, looks fabulous and the calendar is beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful film and music accompaniment, with all the history of those boats that now line the bank to slow the erosion. I was a little sad that it had ended this way for them but my spirits lifted with the story of the oil barges and the plaque that the man succeeded in finding. I was also pleased to see I guessed the diary correct this week 👍 well, I guessed the crab spider and Barn owl 😂

What great shots of the owl gliding in the sky and the lovely sun set shots ,ur flowers are coming on great on the fender 😊. What a lovely shaped church shame they didn't allow dogs it would of nice for a better look, but it wouldn't of been fair on Zephyr to be tied up without u where is India when u need her 😂😂😂. How nice to be here again. Your Little Alice looks so cool. Is this for small difficult landings? The stuff you have to do on a boat, filling up your water bottles. How many water points do pass on your travels? What if you run out? Zephyr is a great dog. So amusing.
Hi Vanessa, thank you for your lovely comments. Often the water points are wider apart so you have to travel longer to get to them. If you run out of water, then you need to get quickly to a water point or fill up an aqua roller which you can wheel to the nearest water point. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻

Oh Vanessa! The excitement of your long-awaited journal finally being published ! What a thrill. Another wonderful video Vanessa. So much to see at Purton. The boat graveyard is famous and has been filmed by many UA-camrs. The wrecks in the river are both the barges that hit the Severn Rail Bridge. They both caught fire and have beeb at their resting place for over 60 years.
The barn owl was gorgeous. Your camera work following it was excellent. Loved this week's poem and drawings.

Thanks for another voyage on the Alice Grace. The graveyard of ships was most interesting and the video of the Owl. Before I forget I wanted to tell about my new hobby sort of. Remember I told you about the crows being gone. Well they are still gone but now I carry a bag of apples in my golf cart to feed the Deer and their little babies also I wanted to ask about your sailboat little Alice I a long time ago I used to have one that looked very much the same as yours I had loads of fun with that little boat it was called an El Toro but don't imagine they call it that there. Anyway don't want to ramble on but wanted to let you know I ordered one of your books on Espy can't wait to get it. Steve
Oh how lovely to be feeding the deer and their young- that is so kind of you. I'll have to look the El Toro boat up- our one is called Seahopper and is a Stowaway make of boat. She's very lovely and comes with sails and oars- although Mr M and India are the sailors as I am completely clueless when it comes to setting that all up! You didn't mention that the old bridge connected Purton with the hamlet of Purton on the west bank! The children of Purton on the east bank, prior to 1960, used to commute to Lydney grammer school on the west bank. When the bridge was destroyed,the number of pupils in the school halved. I have a friend who was at the school at the time!

I so want to learn to drawer never did it at school or college but badly want to your amazing 😊
I was exactly the same as you. My advice is to find some time, if you can, to devote to practice. Time is the hardest hurdle to overcome and also turning off all work stresses and social media. Then if you can do that Kelly, buy yourself a journal , sketching set and some watercolour pencils, I use the Derwent ones and start drawing. Focus on the shapes that you can see in what you're drawing and break your subject into a series of these shapes. I know you can do it! Keep all of your artwork which is why a journal is good because you will see the improvement as you go; and never compare your work to others- we are all individuals and we all have our own unique style- embrace yours, Kelly! I was very excited to see that your journal is finished, but when I have used the link to purchase, it takes me to your shop, but no journal ! 😢 I would so love to purchase one .
