Your kidding me, first comment? That was totally awesome! I used to love designing and building stuff, re-purposing unused busted things that were ready for the dumpster. That was a walk down memory lane for me :-) Now I buy stuff and make things from those lol. This was a very cool project and came out absolutely perfect! I recently (3 weeks ago) picked up a 43" wall mount Bio fireplace. From 375$ down to 108 with a 10$ off coupon, 105 with taxes. Now there back up to 400. Where I live, we own the home, but rent the property its on and there's a no burning anything that gives off flying burning embers regulation. So gas, kerosene, ethanol or gel fuel. Since winters cost about 700$ a season in heating oil, gas is an expensive endeavor, having to vent and tends to give off a smell and toxic fumes, so decided to go with a nice flame ambiance, inexpensive appliance and the more Bio fuel you buy, the cheaper it is. I'm mortaring a thin red veneer brick to the bland black painted stainless steel back drop and and angled inward at the sides and the yellow flame is so much more enjoyable and reflects better and brighter off the bricks. Now I'm adding a small 14" temp and humidity smart control blower at the top to circulate and keep the mantle above a tad cooler as well as the wall. I had to make a small insert shelf out of stainless steel chicken coop wire mesh, a few inches above the flame to add the ceramic logs as this one is 6 only inches depth and the logs would block the snuff cover plate and create/retain to much heat around the burner box filler. The hotter the fluid got, the higher the flames went. Just something fun for this old retired vet to work on during the winter. I took a break on converting a kids 4 wheel atv into a remote control lawn mower lol I'll finish that up when the grass starts growing again :-) Thank you for a great video and sharing the fun! Oh and its extra nice to burn a can of that gel fuel that gives off the popping and crackling sound like a real wood fire! I just take the main burner out and place a couple cans evenly in the spill reservoir. Only burns for two and a half hours but its worth it while having dinner or just watching a movie before bedtime.
