This is one of my favorite dance scenes with Fred and Ginger. His easy style and grace really shines through and Ginger has something of a graceful swagger, which she wields masterfully. They make everything look so smooth and easy, but it took tons of rehearsal to create their art, and I love it. Gosh, they were so talented. I can’t get enough. There’s just something absolutely incomparable about these two. I own all the movies and can’t count how many times I’ve seen them.
Thank you for noting that it took "tons of rehearsal". Reviews of musicians, dancers, any artists, tend to be "They were born with talent". Thank you. And thanks Fred and Ginger for all the hard work...🙂
I think Fred Astaire worked so well with his partners was because for many years from a very young age he worked with his sister, who was older than him and reckoned originally to be the more talented, so that he was really schooled in dancing with a female partner and showing her off, not just himself.
Yes, its it remarkable? both make it look like 'just a walk in the park'. Her book recounts the hours of practice, till her feet bled. FA was a tough taskmaster, wanted everything perfect > and he got it!!!
it’s an amazing hability bc when bending her back backwards it allows her to arch very low and visually it looks stunning, also overall the movements seem more fluid, she danced very beautifully

Fred Astair had great, beautiful, and highly talented dance partners, Ginger Rogers, Rita Haworth, Sid Charice, and others, too. They were all excellent.

How the hell could Ginger Rogers dance so effortlessly and gracefully in high heel shoes? Couldn’t have been easy but she seems to be easily floating across the floor - floating on high heel shoes. That’s magic.
