The heavy part doesn’t need distortion to sound heavy if Ichika is playing even if it’s on a nylon string guitar

it really sounds "full", like, literally how? its legit mindblowing and mindbending. im amazed at how he was able to do that on acoustic.
@@pieface1726 sounds like he’s using a bass generator and some kind of exciter. In other words, the sound is processed with some harmonics. This guy often uses effects but kind of in a less obvious way.

@@billrowse2266 Sounds like it to me. Odd order high frequency harmonics like an aural exciter to bring out and compress the attack. Maybe some clipping. Definitely some dynamics processing and of course reverb. It's by no means a DI of this guitar unless it has all that built in.
This is easily the most badass 40 second cover of SOAD of all time. Without question!

I watched it thrice and the feeling of "HUH? What just happened?" did not disappear. Your playing is beyond human comprehension.. I have been playing for over 10 years, and I do not consider myself a bad guitar player, but watching your videos are just about the most humbling experiences one can get. Keep it up man, I cant wait to see how much further you can take guitar music

No, he's getting better. He's putting in less effort than he used to, to get cleaner, more deliberate results. That's the result of a lot of practice.

As someone who's been listening to SOAD for over 20 years, it always brings a smile on my face when their music continues to be covered and appreciated. Especially when its given a new sound like in this video. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

@@louisrepucci8407 Bars are units of time containing a certain number of beats. It’s only associated with lyrics because of the phrase “spitting bars”, but that’s technically slang based around the musical definition.
I'm so glad to see people using Tim's guitar to make content because it's such a cool idea that I want to do well and exist just so that more people have a nice option to get into playing a classical guitar.

Having never seen your channel before for whatever reason I thought about Miyavi as soon as I heard your playing, but different as well of course. I adore this, seeing unique aspects to guitar playing that haven't been explored deeply in this way. Creativity can drive things forward, and too often people fall into just playing what has come before.
Those ibanez nylon strings are awesome. I ended up getting one last year and its quickly becoming my go to lounge around rig.
I would love so much to hear you do a whole rendition of this song.

@UniMatrix_1 it wasn't because of the price. There was a 1 year wait back when it first released. I ended up getting a Cordoba Stage instead anyway, very happy with it!

I think this is great because it correctly blends technical complexity with simple strummed chords, it's not JUST about the technical achievement, it's also about sounding good af. I love this arrangement

Tim has been popping off. But I suspect that in this case, Ichika was probably given the guitar as part of a routine distribution as an Ibanez signature artist (which both Tim and Ichika are)

It's really interesting the timbre of the strings almost make it sound distorted and clipping? Very cool sound. The legato trills and stuff all sounded very liquid and almost driven.

Crazy that after years of watching Ichika's videos, my jaw is still on the floor every time I watch a new one. Also, this is probably the only video I've seen where someone other than Tim Henson made the TD010 sound good lol.
