This was "necessary evil" stuff that had to be done, and people often ask about, so I covered it! Short video today, aiming for another one later this week, pending weather.
@@dreammaker730 thanks but i have no idea what you're talking about... the comment you replied to is about necessary evil stuff and getting things done next week
Its a very fitting nickname, though.... and he decided to own it! Its funny when he is somewhere else in the country and people say I KNOW WHO YOU ARE.... YOU'RE DECKLID DON! Hahaha! He acts like a celebrity.
congrats on the new ducks. I can certainly see why you had to get them the way the one on the right holds his/her head it just resembles skeeter so much. Hopefully boomer gets along with them.
Sounds great, but I don't see one in the exploded parts view for this. There were different tail light version that had what you describe though, the bulbs all fit differently and are laid out differently, too. We're also missing the rubber gogey that goes underneath.
You have a linkie for that Dizzy. I have a 009 on my ghia currently timed at 5*btdc at idle and 28* full tilt. My issue is long cranks+full throttle needed to start after engine is warmed up. Cold start cranks over with half a key blip.
Absolutely yes, you can see the links in the videos where I installed it of course. Funny how everybody always asks after the fact in a different video LOL... but yes, go back just a couple videos you'll find all the links you need down below in the video description! Hope that helps, thanks for the question!
We've got a lot going on next month, there's a tech session, a club meeting, we probably have on or two car show meetings and then the car show itself.
Hi and thank you! Skeeter will not be reincarnated... she was one of a kind! The best! I can only hope this little critter will have a little Skeeter in there somewhere. Video with the ducklings in it, will be attached tomorrow!
Tell me about it! They've ruined their box, lol... I put it outside and the flies immediately started snacking on the wet shit-soaked cardboard. They've got a plastic one today, but its a little smaller... but they're nice and clean again! Now that they are bigger, this needs to be cleaned a few times a day!
Somebody needs to buy you one of those magnet things that are smaller lol. The only led retrofit bulbs that are good for older cars are the headlight bulbs and only if they have heatsinks and fans. if they dont they are going to be garbage as you know. but of course you cant put something like that in a tail light lol. the ducks are so cute! Have you got any names for them yet? i guess you are waiting to see if they are boys or girls
My friend bought a 68 Mustang that a guy took apart and passed away. We spent more time searching thru boxes and boxes with nothing labeled. Frustrating, but in the end satisfying. ♥️👍🏼🙏
Oh man, the searching for stuff really slows me down. Thankfully its a Beetle so there isn't really that much stuff, and most of it I recognize even without a label. So I'm lucky I guess, for what its worth.... lol
First of all, the ducks are so cute. I like to see a video of them in boomers pool. I have watched a ton of videos putting on the decklid springs. What a job gor me. That is the first time I've seen it put on that way. Really great tip. I am one of those guys that struggled with it. Good video Lord Duckman 🦆. Noel 👍
When I put the decklid on Eleanore last year in video, I used the same method, there's nothing that beats it it's probably the easiest way you just got to be careful you don't scratch the paint 😁👍🏻🦆💩
I prefer the earlier Beetles, especially the 50s and 60s, but this car has a lot of character. 🪲 You do a great job, brother. Keep up the great work and the great videos. 📹 👍 Love your new ducklings, they're cute. 🐥
We all appreciate the earlier ones better, but those are getting extremely hard to find anymore. Nowadays even these stoopit beetles are in demand. 😁👍🏻🦆💩 thanks much man!

Do you need much to keep a duck ?.
Since you found them the really have grown .
@DuckmanCycles yep you are right .
I will try to make more sense in future 😆
Those little ducklings sure are cute!
My babies.... hehe... now if I can only get to stop escaping their box LOL! They got big!
Mad jock checking in pal, love the content. Can’t wait to see u at the bus project again
Hi Mad Jock! Hehe! Thanks again! Bus would be great, but probably no time soon.,,, but it could surprise you! Stay tuned!
@5:05 I've been working on cars for a living for 13 years and I'm still dropping nuts and bolts into the deep abyss 😂😂😂
Thank you for that lol... people seem to act like it doesn't ever happen to them, or that I am doing it wrong when it does haha!
Everytime you mention or work with decklids I crack up remembering Decklid Don. Funny nickname. Sweet ducklings 🐥🥰

Thanks much! More of them in todays Kart video! Boomer doesn't like them though, so he attacks me! Haha! Thanks much!
Those tail lights should have a steel plate under them that seals them off and keep rocks kicked up from braking the plastic housing.
Sounds great, but I don't see one in the exploded parts view for this. There were different tail light version that had what you describe though, the bulbs all fit differently and are laid out differently, too. We're also missing the rubber gogey that goes underneath.
Always like duckmans content big shouts from England 🏴

You said gogie 😀
Gogey gogey gogey GOGEY! :: dances around :::

I have no idea what you're talking about.... hmm 🤔
run more video on this V.W. .
I've already run lots of videos on this car, and you're about to see another one this Wednesday! 😁👍🏻
Also, there was a rubber grommet/boot in the back wire hole of the stoplight ASSY to keep out water/salt/sand, etc. That buggy is coming along.
Yes, I talked about this... missing gogey, so it doesnt get one. It's not a buggy though, it's a stupid beetle. 😁😁😁👍🏻🦆💩

Thank you very much, I really appreciate that. A lot of work goes into producing these videos!
A pair of side cutters would make that connection a horseshoe. Just saying 😂
Agree! And I have done this, but I am on video working on someone else's car, lets not butcher it lol
Nice work Duckman , love the ducklings. Well done
Thanks so much Paul! I appreciate it!
Love the ducks. I raised 2 and everything u said is true. So much shit!

I have a feeling you haven’t needed to use a rubber doggie in quite some time ?
What does a rubber doggie do?
🤷♂ Pisses on a rubber tree, fetches a rubber ball 🤷🤔@@DuckmanCycles
That's interesting... 🤔
