    Hi Nici, thanks for sharing your fibroid story on UA-cam. I am wondering how the sonata treatment worked out for you in the end. Did things improve with the particular fibroids that were treated?

  • @joannefaith8131
    @joannefaith8131 21 день тому +1

    Is there a size limit for the sonata treatment, as I have a 10cm fibroid, and the information is, this treatment can handle any size fibroids

    • @PrettyNici
      @PrettyNici  21 день тому

      I think 10cm may be the largest if I’m not mistaken. I think the smaller ones have a better success rate with this procedure. But check with your doctor, things may have changed since my procedure was done.

    Me too! That medication is called Misoprostol aka: Cytotec if anyone wants to know. It will soften and dilate the cervix. I needed it for an endometrial biopsy. My doc FAILED to tell me what I would experience and I have never had pain like that. It intensified over many hours and I was literally deep breathing like I was in labor. It was hella intense. I got a taste of what labor is like. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am looking to get the Sonata procedure and it was good to hear your story. My fibroids have negatively affected my life for years now. Sometimes I wondered how my heart was still beating after so much blood loss. It is unreal.

    • @PrettyNici

      That was my exact experience with it. It was wild. We definitely got a taste of labor and it was not fun lol. I hope that you can get yours taken care of🙏🏾. That's no way too live. I also need to film an update video. Before making your decision make sure you do lots of research on what your options are if the ablation doesn't work.

    I'm so glad you shared your story. I have a loooooong history with them. 26yrs ago I had a myomectomy to remove numerous tumors. I was able to have my daughter a year later. They eventually came back and 6yrs ago I had a full hysterectomy. So many women don't know anything about fibroids or our options. Your story will help so many women! That's why I tell everyone about you! Cause you all that, girl! And you are changing lives! God bless!

    I had this procedure last month 4 weeks post op. I would do it again because the Myomectomy was a 6 week recovery last time. So far so good but during my healing process large tissue/fibroids have expelled from my uterus. I had to up my iron because I lost alot of blood on the second cycle post op. My uterus went from 16cm to 12cm so far.

    • @NaturallyLluvme

      I had the procedure 10 days ago, and I experiencing ovulation type cramping and a clear discharge with a little blood in it. Did you experience any symptoms post-op. I called the doctor's office and was told that it's normal.

    • @CTM2023
      @CTM2023 4 місяці тому

      @@NaturallyLluvme post op my symptoms were clear fluid discharge then after a few days heavy bleeding without cramping. The second month fluid discharge which appeared to be bacteria vaganiosis for days to a couple weeks. Then heavy bleeding began with no warning to the point where I was losing alot of blood in just 1 hour. I was able to get home but experienced tumors expelled in huge clumps. The blood was so heavy pads and towels had to be used. I went to the ER and was told I had no iron in my blood. The doctor gave me a medication to stop the bleeding. It worked but I had to get off the med because it caused a migraine (side effect). After all of that, my regular period began (with cramping). My gyn told me all of this is normal and expect another round next month. He was right but the third month was more cramping with just a minimal amount of tissue expelled and it felt like a cycle which ended on time. So at this time my tummy had gone down some and my uterus was 16cm down to 12cm.

      @@CTM2023 Oh no! Thanks so much for sharing, and I'm sorry you experienced that. I went to the ER in Feb and had to get a transfusion (4 units of blood and an iron infusion-2 days in ER). This was followed by 5 iron infusions after my release. I cannot imagine going through what you did, and I'm glad you got through it. Unfortunately, my doctor gave me very little information. I now know to expect heavy bleeding. It's scary to think about it. I have Afib that developed from all the years of low iron. I had no idea mine was so low until I went to the ER. Are they giving you iron infusions? Praying that you continue to heal well.

    Nici I pray you’re healthy and continue healing. Years ago my sister had the surgery but not this procedure of course but she had the old fashioned surgery she’s not able to have kids. She had the heavy cycle and it was very painful during her first few days she was not able to work when she had her cycle. She used to be in tears and my mother took her to Doctors and the only remedy at that time was hysterectomy sad but true. I do believe this is a conversation that is worth having me I have had a irregular cycle and is not able to have kids and I’m not mad about it. Peace and love ❤

    Nici, a few years ago l had a robotic hysterectomy performed. It didn't jump start menopause which was a relief for me and it was also outpatient. I had 6 fibroids which were the size of golf balls which caused unbearable cycles. I no longer have cycles. For me it was life changing. My son is a 20 year old college junior so l didnt have a desire to have more children. There are hundreds of women, predominantly black women who have fibroids. Of course every women's body and circumstances are different. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

    I truly hope you are feeling better. I also appreciate your transparency. I am also happy that you were able to find a doctor who looks like us. Based on your 1st experience, it seems that the initial doctor wanted to experiment on you 😵‍💫. In 2010, I had a uterine ablation which involved burning the uterine lining using a water filled balloon. At that time, I had already had all of the children I intended to have, so fertility wasn't an issue. The procedure helped me for about 3 years. In 2014, I had a hysterectomy. When you started discussing your inability to stay awake post procedure and having soreness in your throat I had a similar experience. I learned that the anesthesiologist had given me too much anesthesia, and I had an adverse reaction. It took me an entire 24 hours to fully wake up. I didn't have pain from the surgery, but I had a sore throat for 2 weeks. I pray that your fibroids are gone and that you are among the success stories. Thanks again for sharing.❤

    Thank you for posting your story. This is the first one I have seen of a patient that did the Sonata. I have a large fibroid causing multiple issues with surrounding organs due to pressure. I have already had a major sugary due to it being misdiagnosed. I am desperately trying to save my uterus for numerous health reasons the Dr's don't discuss. So far I like this option better but truly needed to see what real people say. Bless you for your bravery and willingness to be open so that your story can help others like me.

  • @ginni6286

    I love that you told your story. I'm considering this method for my second surgery. The first one was similar to yours, but without the laser. They went in through my cervix, so no stomach cutting. They cut pieces of the fibroid but they couldn't remove it all due to complications that they explained to me prior. You mentioned something that i thought was unfair for you to go through (aside from the other stuff! You went through it! God bless you) so you were given medication the night prior, to open up your cervix. I was also given medication to open up my cervix, they were one or two tablets that i had to drink with water. So i felt those labor pains for maybe an hour or less, then they put me down for anesthesia. I don't understand why they made you experience those labor pains for so long? They only had me go through it for about an hour. I wish that hadn't been your experience, those pains aint no joke! Goodness gracious. Also, i asked the nurse for a heating pad while i was experiencing those pains, and that heating pad helped some. Not a whole lot but it was a difference with the pain a little reduced. Thank you for making a video about this new method cause there's not much out there. I understand it's because it's so new. I hope you have experienced better relieve after the surgery. Stay blessed.

    Thank you for this video. I have fibroids. I've had excruciating periods since I began having them at the age of 13, and I'm now pushing 39 next month (♑ gang lol). I have very heavy bleeding. I double up pads and change them every 3 hrs and their soaked. I can't function on my period. I can't work during my period so needless to say I don't hold jobs long. I can't walk because my legs are weak. I vomit and pass out as well. I'm not a pleasant person. It makes me sink into my depression more. I was told I had fibroids after my first daughter was born in 2009 at age 24. But they've grown since then and after my 2nd daughter was born I now have a hernia as well. I'm scared out my mind to undergo any surgeries, however I look 9months pregnant😢. I'm very aware of how protruding my belly is. Everyone just thinks I've gained so much weight, but it's more to it. And of course the way they come at me, I don't even wish to disclose it's a health issue. They just make me feel fat 😢 which does not help my depression. I definitely want to get more info on ways to get them to shrink so I can function a normal life. 11:24
