For those less familiar with the Monkees, this was actually Michael Nesmith singing. Mickey Dolenz had a higher vocal than Michael, and I believe your comment is referencing Mickey talking to Michael at the very end of the video. Yep, Mickey's voice is still the same! Great hearing Christmas music from the Monkees nevertheless!

I wouldn't say that Micky sounds the same as he did back in the 60's. Don't get me wrong, his vocal still sounds amazing. Though it has undoubtedly been affected by age. Although I think the way he sings might have something to do with it. Since Micky's overall singing style did change in late 1967 - early 1968. Which is evident when you compare songs like 'Randy Scouse Git (Alternate Title)' to songs like 'Shake 'Em Up (and Let 'Em Roll)'. Peter is probably the Monkee whose singing voice changed the least in my opinion. Though it's not always easy to tell since there aren't a lot of songs where he sang lead.

None of their voices match up to their younger selves. But I'm not bothered by it. This is supposed to reflect that their music is timeless and ageless. And so I guess it makes sense that they are presenting the Monkees in their younger images.

52 years after they burst on the music scene and they are still making great music. Who the hell knew that the Monkees would be relevant all these years later, even short a member? It speaks volumes about their lasting legacy.

Awesome video,; the Nesmiths (Mike,, Christian & Circe Link, and Jonathan) have made us all proud to be Monkees fans! Great hearing Micky and Mike intro and outro , loved the animation. Mike sang this Christmas classic great and the music and production is amazing. The whole Christmas Party CD is worth getting if you haven't checked it out yet.
He was out doing National Band concerts two weeks later. If you listen to the Rhino Records podcast Mike and Mickey did about 6 weeks ago, they have Mike on something. He was feeling REALLY GOOD! I thought it might be perkadin.

Completely blown away by this. Wasn't aware of the album not a huge fan of Christmas music but was amazed and the fact that Mike sings on it makes it all that much better.
Maybe I'm projecting, but this is the most wistful music video I've seen in quite awhile. I feel like I'm watching memories within dreams within memories, with ghosts making cameo appearances at each stage. As a lifelong Monkees fan I feel like it's not so much reminiscent as it is a reflection on reminiscence. Jonathan Nesmith & Susan Holloway have done a masterful job. (The Monkeemobile's a nice touch!) This whole new album is a wonderful gift to fans. Merry Christmas & much love to The Monkees & everyone else involved!
What a cool video! Kinda like Disney's Its a Small World ride. Lol As someone mentioned before, Nez's speaking voice doesn't match his cartoon look, but otherwise this is a great video. It was nice to see them not only acknowledge the pad and Mr. Schneider, but also the 33 1/3 RPM 1969 tv special, but also their movie 'Head' too!
