- Elias Pettersson scored a highlight reel goal from below the goal line, taking it back and scoring the game winning goal against the New York Rangers in what wound up being a 4 point night for Petrersson in a 6-3 win. But just 2 nights prior in New Jersey after getting it started just 41 seconds into the 2nd, it was early in the 3rd, scoring the 5th of that game for the Canucks, his 2nd of the night, where he made it look easy to make it a it 5-2 game in what wound up being the game winning goal of that game. And finally, just this past Tuesday, scoring another pretty one against the New York Islanders in what once again, wound up being the game winning goal in a 5-2 win, Elias Petterrsson came into tonights matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins with the opportunity to do something no one had ever done in NHL history. Score 4 game-winning goals in four straight road games. In what was a great game with big saves, JT Miller and Sidney Crosby arguing with each other and a thrilling overtime, I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

THANK GOD, it was something that will go down in the annals of the HOF and no doubt will be remembered by one and all... WHEW... I thought I was a hockey nerd.

As a Pittsburgh fan it was a really good game I honestly didn’t expect us to even drive it to overtime. The title of the second best in the league is well deserved honestly Canada’s best shot at a cup this year.

@@AtticsTV Correct. And usually these eastern swings decimate the Canucks in more ways than one. Usually they come home broken (possibly missing players) and with less breathing room wherever they are in the standings. I'm curious to see how Buffalo prepares for tomorrow afternoon.

Im a pens fan but ive been watching the canucks for a while too cause im a fan of Demko, this game was so good one of my favorites this year and my team didnt even win 😂cant be mad at the result when the journey was so entertaining. it was funny feeling so conflicted on that save on Crosby in the 3rd i wanted a goal so bad but god Demko is so good.
Demko is the most overrated of the bunch. He has gigantic legs that he uses to mask is poor edge work in the crease.

Pens fan here but man the Canucks are brilliant. Young, fast, tough, terrific hockey IQ among the entire roster. Canucks fans will have a great team for at least the next decade. Salute to them.

This is probably the first time I've heard a Bruins fan send well wishes to the Canucks... Haha. As a Canucks fan, I was embarrassed over the reaction and comments from the loss of 2011. It was not a true representation of the real fans that accepted the fact we got beat by the better team. Would love to see the Canucks win a cup in my lifetime.

Just a guess, but I think he will be done next year when his contract is up. He doesn't need the money and the team is not going anywhere. I see him as the teams GM or President pretty quick after he retires. I don't think he would want a coaching job. @@stevocanuck

Petey is so fucking insane. I've been calling him Lanky Datsyuk since his rookie year. He's just so smart and impactful no matter where he is on the ice. I have a feeling he might make some small concessions on his contract for the sake of winning, too.
I highly doubt he would even consider taking a discount, before the season started and they seemingly turned it around and now looking like a top team, he didnt even wanna sign an extension this past summer. Hes probably gonna want the bag
@@dudelove69 I don't think money was the issue for Petey. I think being on a contender was. He didn't want to sign long-term to a team with no future. Hopefully the Sedins will influence his decision. Even if he takes $9m per year instead of $12m (or whatever he will be looking for) that's a big difference that can help add one more piece of depth to the team...
Canucks were 24-0-0 when leading after 2. Pens was the first to gain a point from this streak, and almost snapped it in dramatic comeback fashion too. The game could go either way. Sid is still Sid at 36 is remarkable. Another note is some of the builders of Penguins Stanley Cups are with the Canucks.

As a long suffering Canucks fan, this feels like a dream. It’s like I’m waiting for half the team to be suspended for failing a drug test. Or for Bettman to say we have to play short handed the rest of the year because they decided to revisit Luongo’s contract. (Crosby is still so insanely great to watch still)

This was a game to watch! I just love how Sid refuses to let his team give up. Even at his age in this stage of his career, he's not going to let anyone push him around. Love watching players compete like that.

Canucks fan but I got to say I was really impressed with the Pittsburgh fan base. The atmosphere in the building was more like a playoff game than a Thursday night in January. I really think the crowd helped will them to that last goal.

I was born the week the Canucks played their first game. I have been a life long fan. I am still having trust issues. We have been disappointed far too many times. BUT this year’s team looks amazing.

He's having a blast (finally) and contributing in those ways you need a third line guy to contribute. He's pretty much the glue holding together a pain in the ass 3rd line that is leaving a lot of teams frustrated, and down a goal.

I always have mixed feelings as a Canucks fan when playing against Pittsburgh. Of course I want my team to win, but I also want to see Sid rip it up! Pittsburgh fans are so lucky to have the greatest players in NHL history play in their city... and yet they don't gloat and rub it in like other sports fans do.

People saying he’s playing like this because of a contract year literally are soooo misinformed, was last season a contract year? When he had 103 points? As a Nucks fan who watched them through the bad, he’s been exceptional aside from that one season where his wrist was injured and he played through it and needed surgery.
I know he deserves it, but what worries me is his play outside the lotto line. Playing with miller and a red hot Boeser will make you look amazing. Just hoping when we dish out the 10+ mil it’ll be worth it.
