Thank you Hayley and Andrew for this amazing and thoughtful conversation. I appreciate your insights so much. Hayley, best episode to date! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you for this. I've been struggling with the concept of death for the past 10 years. This has truly connected dots for me. This is bringing so much turmoil to rest.
I only follow Jesus, point blank period. If I grew up morman, I'd prob leave the church too. But Jesus is my only idol - it seems mormons have multiple idols.
Oh do you know anyone who has died and given that description of their experience? Or if you don’t know them personally surely you have links to show where they shared their stories
No. I don’t think so. There are actually very, very few. Most LDS who have an NDE step away from the church - actually religion in general. Go out and test your theory.
I have listened to tons of Christian and Catholic near death experiences. Maybe they often confirm the belief system that you were raised in. I personally know a Catholic who flatlined and was met by a saint (I think Peter, I don’t remember). Mormons globally make up a tiny, tiny percentage, I’m guessing your ratio is way off. Seriously there are a tonne of people talking about their near death experiences on UA-cam, from a variety of religions. Check some out, it’s fascinating.
I would leave the faith as well if I had a view of the gospel like this gentleman. I can see these cultural understandings of God that creep in to the church and create a false view of the character of God. Fortunately I have not been infected too deeply with such views of the character of God.
This conversation touched my heart. You both were unbelievably well spoken and vulnerable. Great listen

If you focus on Jesus you would not have energy to admonish everyone else.

For every near death experience there is one that confirms LDS doctrine as well. Take that for what it’s worth.
you actually have stats on that? I don't think it's a 1:1 ratio
