    I literally just went through this myself. I bought my kia sportage with 19k miles as the second owner. It was the best vehicle I personally ever owned. I changed the oil every 5k and took great care with the car. At 135k the engine blew on my way to work. The lady at kia told me I wasnt eligable for the engine replacment because the car had unserviced recalls. However as the second owner I never received one recall notice. What a crock of bull.

    Had a Kia, motor blew, had it replaced by third party prior to the recall because the dealership said "there's no recalls or problems but you can have it towed up here and run a diagnostic and send it to Kia" aka, out of my pocket costs. I have an Optima and got called for a check in relation to that recall. The audacity of these guys… they want the car for the whole day, but won’t provide a curtesy car free of charge and they’re acting like they’re doing me a favour.
      I had a BMW before and when there were issues with it, they picked it up from my driveway, dropped off a curtesy car for me to use for 3 weeks and didn’t charge anything for it.

    I have a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. I have warned Motorworld that engine is burning oil. Now my engine stopped working & the car did not give any warnings. Hyundai will not be covering it because it’s only for certain parts in the engine. Even tho the whole engine needs to be replaced. It is fascinating how you can tell a mechanic somethings wrong and come back with a “we found the problem” about a month later the engine stops working. I religiously have brought this car for its DUE services to hyundai motorworld now here we are.

      Update just spoke to Hyundai now they’re saying because I am not the original owner I am not covered for the 100k mile engine replacement. Lol apparently if you’re the second owner it’s only cover for 60k with 5 years on it and I’ve only put 40k on the car and I’ve only owned it for 3yr. But they, for some reason can’t give me this information in writing it’s just different representatives, giving me different information. How awesome is that?

    • @Gtheexplorer_

      Last update, Now after months of back and forth. Hyundai is not covering my engine replacement because the "ROD BEARING" did not cause the engine failure. Motorworld states Cylinders 1,2,3,4 failed which is what caused the engine failure. Now Motorworld is charging me $7,500 for a brand NEW engine with 12k mile "parts for parts" warranty or 1yr whichever comes first.

    I've had my 2014 Santa Fe for 3 years now. I made sure I kept up with all of my services then boom my engine goes janky at 108k miles. The dealership told me I could get a 500 dollar diagnostics that would take up to 3 weeks before sending the results off to be reviewed. Then proceeded to tell me I would most likely be denied because I'm the second owner but if I was approved, it would take 3-6 months to be repaired. He found a warranty for an engine replacement ONLY if my engine locks up... I'm legit stuck.

  • @Dean3Corso3
    @Dean3Corso3 9 місяців тому +7

    I’m going to be clear about the denial of engines. Whether you get turned down is what techs and service managers that are running the show. We’ve never denied them unless there wasn’t an update (as of a couple of years now) or before the update issue, we flipped them out. We never had problems. So we found out that there are three people that are involved: techs, service manager, and most importantly the warranty clerk. KIA is getting in trouble because of crappy clerks mostly, but techs may misrepresent the issue and the service manager might deny the fix. But you’d have to know all this to know all this :/

    The point i wanted to get out was i have proof it was taken to Kia to get the hidden recall, and they didn't do it. They argued saying it wasn't true, that it was never there, and once i proved it, they changed it to i should have known and done again. If you can't trust if the dealership actually did their jobs then the whole thing is pointless. You're doomed if you do. You're doomed if you don't.
