Those catfish can be tricky, better to take your time then to puncture yourself😂😂 When we did that Canyon trip, Sam got stabbed a bunch the first day lol. Sorry you lost that big one, at least you got to catch a catfish on a lipless crank lol.
I went from not catching a catfish in years to doing pretty well on them this summer, but there's still some kinks to work out! I'll get that big one someday; saw a dude pull a 20+ lb flathead from that same spot, so I know they're in there.
