If you've never experienced rain in the desert, it's the most refreshing, life-giving thing in the world! Loved this vid! 💕🪱
Rain is sacred. When I left the high desert for western Washington I told myself I would never ever complain about the rain here. Our very dry summers help me hold onto that pact with myself, but sometimes it's been hard.
The smell in the Az. desert after the rain is wonderful! Called petrichor, comes from oils secreted by certain plants.
I loved seeing the rain collecting behavioral adaptations of the rattlesnakes. Thank you for this video!
Beautiful video. Love seeing snakes drink, thank you
I have just learned so much by watching your channel. I find it really fascinating how the snakes create their own puddle so-to-speak to drink from. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience.
So glad that just a little bit of water can go a long way. A great video. Thank you.
Very interesting!! Arizona is home to 4 deserts, each with it’s own characteristics and terrain. I am in the eastern Mojave or Mohave desert portion and we just got a couple rain storms too. It makes the deserts come alive.
Mmmmm.... nothing like a nice calm desert rain ❤️❤️❤️
That speckled at 2:40 is gorgeous!!!
Really amazing vlog thank you for showing this and explaining what is happening.
What a beautiful video! Thank you, Bryan & the Bros. (Sorry, I couldn't resist).
Your property is beautiful, Bryan. Such a great habitat. We live in SoCal & finally got some relief this year from years of prolonged drought. We are surrounded by brushy, boulder covered, beautiful (to me) hills. The rain brings such life! I, too, can feel the plants & critters coming back to life.
That was one long gopher snake in your "yard"! Loved seeing all the snakes in the rain. And only 1 noticed you & got upset.
Blessings.
I'm always amazed at the incredible adaptation of these amazing creatures that live in such extreme climates. It must be a wonderful thing to see one drinking so contentedly after such a long time without.
Amazing place, amazing creatures.
Man, Bryan, you sure picked a nice spot to set up your headquarters. Awesome scenery around there!
what a sigh of releif y'all finally got out of those extreme temperatures. To see the snakes collect and drink water is so fascinating. Hi Berk!!! You guys rock keep up the rad videos!
Hi, I want to thank you and your coworkers for all this great info. I live in NM up on a mesa and have diamondbacks (mostly what I see.) I was face to face with one earlier in the summer and in an effort to understand them more and their behaviors I started watching you all work as I just have to learn the skills to safely grab them and relocate. Your climate change observations seem accurate and I think the only reason I did not get struck in my experience was that it was too hot and it was heat stressed and sluggish. Thank you for what you do and that you do it with respect and care for the animal kingdom. I lived in North Carolina with timber rattlers and they get over 6foot.....one in my driveway had 22 rattles on it. The farmers all have these little dogs called feists who are born and raised to kill snakes. The farmers are at risk at night walking out to their chicken coops and during the day in their soybean fields. The dogs sit on the farmers lap on the tractor and when they stop the dog jumps off and goes first looking for any snakes! I have seen them in action and they are fast. Unfortunately the farmers and their families all kill the snakes and want you to kill them too as it is their livelihood at risk. We must stop killing them......and change our attitudes....and you help us to see them as amazing and beautiful creatures.
A powerful post. They must stop the killihg.
Climate change isn’t real, people taking the natural habitat is the change. Climate change is an excuse to kill🐍✌️stupid

Great video, guys. Beautiful snakes enjoying the season. Never a more gorgeous sunset!😊
Brilliant episode - and that king snake was gorgeous. Thanks.
It was interesting to learn about how rattlesnake skin captures rain, thanks for the info.
Wow, great educational video. Thanks!
That was very cool, lots of snakes
I love the smell of the desert after it rains
What a beautiful sunset there Jeff and Brian of course I love watching the lightning it's nice to have the summer monsoons I always appreciate how you guys find the snakes and you relocate them thank you .
I live in Randsburg and I always put out water for every living thing. I see only red racers. And of course great lizards and birds.❤
Some great monsoony footage in this one, guys!
Cool how they coil up to funnel the rain down into their mouths.
What a wonderful video. 😊
Awesome video!! Learned something new. Always love watching you guys.
No way you would ever catch me walking in the desert during a lightning storm. They say the more you learn about something, the less terrifying it becomes. That's true for most things (like snakes!) but not lightning. It's the exception that proves the rule.
I wish I had gotten the chance to visit Arizona back when I went to Colorado for about 5 days. I didn't have the transportation to do it. I was at a Young Life camp. I love the colors of the South West. Maybe a bucket list state.
That dinosaur scared me!
Ive been curious about the effect of rain on them. Cool!
Cool T-Rex!!
What an incredible video! We're marathon-watching everything you've done, haha... Living in southeastern AZ and in the desert, your knowledge is really helpful to go from freaked out afraid to not afraid [much] and feeling more confident.
While walking in the desert yesterday just after sunset, we encountered a rattlesnake and knew to back off. Having watched your videos [quite a few in the past three weeks] we knew not to hurt it and to let it be. It stopped rattling and, once it felt safe, it went into one of the many holes nearby. It was thrilling... but, also freaked us out a bit. It was a very slow walk the 1/2 mile back to our Jeep, haha!
We have a question; What is the gestation period for the rattlesnake, and how often do they give birth? Thanks in advance for your reply and for all you're doing to educate folks! It's made a terrific difference in our lives and the lives of any snake we encounter.
Awesome videos. Thanks guys ❤
Human: *catches rain in hands and drinks*
Snek: *"welp, no hands...I'll just use my body"*
I know this is a great situation for observing these snakes in such a relatively small area, but i have literally had nightmares where I'm walking and everywhere I look there are venomous snakes in my path, haha. I much prefer watching an expert walk there.
Recently I was walking somewhere, heard a rattling sound and immediately went "RATTLESNAKE!!"
...I live in Germany, in the city. There are no rattlesnakes here unless someone's pet rattlesnake escaped. Ofc the sound was not a rattlesnake, it was a sprinkler. I think I've been watching too many of these videos 🤣

I live in Monroe Washington & I wish we have King snakes around here

LOBILLOS MUSICAL DE DURANGO…
OMGosh I thought my hikes in slight rain were safer🤦🏻♀️
Why are they so big?? Omg snakes are my biggest fear. I only watch these videos to see the good in them!
The fire dept is great at their jobs…but I shudder to think how many snakes they have killed..not having the knowledge about relocation.
Mom here, me and my kids just got into hiking, Well yesterday in oracle az we were walking along the arizona trail it was around 6 pm as we came back down my second born boy was running down the trail and literally bumped into a western diamond back that was slithering along the trail and when I say bumped I mean he bumped its head with his shoe and then jumped up when he realized it was a snake..
I can say now I am terrified being someone born and raised in the desert I have never seen one until now. We are freaked out now to go hiking and if we ever do again my boys need to walk instead of run in front of me.. when do they go into hibernate?
I'm a new subscriber and just love the channel. What you guys do is amazing. How do you make money though? Do you charge for a snake removal? Do you work off donations? Does the county or state help subsidize your income?
Why is there a California king snake in Arizona
It's the name of the species, not the location where it is.
please becaful with rattersnakes
Anyone who thinks water is a deurrant to snakes is clueless. Eery snake known or unknown to man crosses tiers, lakes and taters have struck at people in boats fishing in South Dakota. When a six foot five late man pees off the end of the boat and screams like a little girl ..here's your sign.
Sorry, that's not your brother. You may think he is, and _he_ may think he is but in reality that's a time-traveling John Cusack from 35 years ago...
EDIT: ...crossbred with same time period-Matthew Broderick...
What a perfect time to get rid of a bunch of snakes. 410 shotguns work really well for this.
Oh boy, you guys are always so funny. Scared of the whole world and only one where you can think to solve it. Quit being babies.
