Sad about the female but at least she didn't suffer longer. It's surely hard to have to make those decisions. Those bushes look like they made the job more dangerous as well as a lot harder since you don't know where the snake is and that one was quiet. :/ Glad Marissa was able to find it and get it out safely. That other snake really didn't like getting picked up but it found out the tongs were hard to bite! Thanks again for another great video!
Thank you for trying to save the gravid female. She didn't look good at all when she was pulled out of that box. What a shame that the offspring were lost, too. I didn't want to see that today, but I'm glad you posted it and I hope some new folks found some compassion that they weren't expecting.
How is it Marissa always gets the cardio catches?! The mountain of rocks the one time, climbing up to the roof (her fav), now the mini jungle expedition…meanwhile the rest of the crew: drive up, “hi buzzworm!, catch, release, done”. Very sad about the mama though…glad you all could handle that so she didn’t suffer long.
Because all of the snakes know that they will get primo treatment from Marissa, so they get up to all sorts of shenanigans knowing that she will always forgive them and call them “Bud” and “Little One” and find the best packrat nests for them.
Marissa, I felt so sorry watching you trying to find the snake in all that lantana! That must've been one of your toughest search for a snake! Glad you didn't get bit! 🤔😵🙄
Beautiful snakes successfully relocated. Great footage of the AZ desert. Sad about the gravid female, but I agree with others here; glad she wasn't left to suffer longer. And for Marissa, I dislike lantana!! Used to have to trim the small one in the tiny front yard of the duplex where I lived with my Mother (Pasadena, CA, late '60's - mid '70's). Always made me itch!!! They can look pretty when well maintained, but I avoid them!! Blessings, RSS team.
Sad to see you lose one. Just a fact of animal life coming in conflict with man-made structures. You all do such a good job of preserving so many that you find. Thankfully Jeff had the knowledge to know that unless she got help there was little hope.
I’m so stoked the long form videos are back! Poor Marissa is it’s that thick brush. She did amazing though! Man that gravid female is soooo sad. Unfortunate that y’all couldn’t save her but it’s so incredible that y’all try.
That is way more than a patch IMO Marissa. Good gravy that was a huge lanatana shrubbery to look for a snake. Awesome job! Such rad dark colors too. So glad you found that WD Rattlesnake so fast and could safely relocate it Jeff! Awesome job Nick!! Hope you had a great herping trip in NM Marissa! AH I am so bummed that pregnatn snake got stuck. Thank you and Jeff for checking if you could help her. And thank you for putting her out of her misery as humanely as possible. So grateful for ALL the snakes you do rescue and succesfully relocate. You are all my kind of people!
I live in a forest on a mountain in North Carolina and I like my snakes. I see rattlesnakes occasionally, but there are a lot of copperheads and they are cool except for when I find them in my basement or garage. I keep "snake sticks" by the doors and in the garage to assist the legless critters get back into the woods. Good video. Subscribbed.
"Rattlesnakes don't always rattle" Ain't that the truth. Of the dozen or so times I've encountered wild rattlesnakes, I've never once been rattled at. I've been hissed at a few times, but never rattled at.
One of the reasons I left the zoo, were animal deaths. Not that there were a lot, but I was there for over 20 years and a lot of reptiles that we got as neonates from other zoos when I started, and the ones I got to know initially that were older was like having hundreds of friends die over the years (almost exclusively from age). I got way too attached to each of the sentient beings. They all had their own personalities, so it was like losing a pet every few months/year. My heart couldn't take it.
Marissa, do you think you might have been able to flush out the snake faster with a water hose? When ever I have rescues that vanish into bushes I always flush em out with a lot of water! At least it has worked for me the majority of the time the past 25 years. Sometimes it doesn't work on large yucca clusters! God bless you guys for the hard work you put in to protecting our valuable rattlesnakes!
Ya I thought about it, but it was just so thick and large that I figured it would probably just move around under the lantana unseen. Thank you for always watching and commenting 😊
good work smaller snakes , eastern diamond , 8ft , wide as football crawled cross the road , we stopped traffic. years ago , startled by one in the bush , still pains me for shooting the snake , since that date in 1993 , no snake nor animal has died on my rural property.. all the tv snake hunters in Texas have died or suffered...
Marissa that must really be frustrating when the rattlesnake you are searching for is well hidden in lantana. Are there ways to draw a rattlesnake in that type of cover?
@@yupyupyup4444 If you wait long enough Marissa can work her magic. I just saw the other day in another backyard capture. Two Western Diamondbacks were hiding under AC units in a backyard. Marissa ferreted them out with a water hose. I am beginning to understand that rattlesnakes prefer to remain hidden unless they are on the hunt for food. Especially this time of year.
I wish that I knew how to kill Lantana. One of my upstairs neighbor threw her Lantana plant over her balcony when they moved. It was cut down but grew back.
This looks like another typical person that moves to Arizona and they can't tolerate rattlesnakes in their yard so Marissa as usual you do a wonderful job it's too bad this person just simply couldn't acknowledge that that that Rattlesnake snake lived there before she did .
I’m sorry but if you know you live in an area with a propensity to having rattlesnakes WHY would you have Lantana growing around your property? I’m surprised there was only one. The poor female that passed away so sad, poor thing.

Another great video. You do such a fantastic job 👍. We only have 1 venomous snake (viper) in the UK so great seeing such variation in one state.

Great video but, Mama snake's passing at the end broke my heart.
I'm starting to like watching this channel 😊 I normally watch Jason Arnald & Kevin Fleming
I wouldn't call that a failure necessarily, it is sad she died, but because of you guys, she didn't suffer needlessly. Thank you for trying.
I love this channel a lot
Poor mama and babies. 😢

Now that tattoo she has covered her arm with is what I would call from the dark side.
So sad that the female rattlesnake didn't make it 😢
Sorry the would be mama didn’t make it. Great video anyways thanks all
Looked like it’s rattle had been shortened, maybe not enough scales to rattle?

what brand of tongs are you using?

I could pretend to like snakes in the city,,,but i'm using a chipper/shredder
How is it that the specialists do not wear snake proof protective equipment?
Living out there people should not have low land cover like that great hiding place for snakes
Hi how are you doing today
That front door snake was a little thick.
Yea, sorry for mama snake and her potential younguns

How do you euthanize a rattlesnake?
Neither one of you have the lid handy when you put the snake in the bucket ' why ?
Sometimes it’s necessary, sometimes it’s not.
