It is remarkable that Hamlet expresses no remorse after he kills Polonius, at least in a moral sense. The closest he comes to expressing remorse is when he says, "Of this lord I do repent", and he says it in an offhand way, like he is not doing much more than acknowledging his bloody deed. He denies his guilt in the matter from the very moment when he finds out he has killed Polonius. This is symptomatic of the grossness of the condition of Hamlet's conscience. He's not affected by his killing the wrong person. After he sees his father's ghost he decides he has not killed enough. His conscience tells him that his thoughts must be bloody. Hamlet is now a loose cannon and a danger to many of the people around him.
Polonius bends which way the wind blows. That would make him odious to Hamlet. But the ease with which Hamlet kills him is questionable, if this play is read in a certain way. The whole issue of Hamlet's conscience is the blind elephant behind the scenes. Hamlet's only regret in this situation is that he is not killing enough people. Hamlet kills without remorse, and he feels bad that he is not killing more people.
"There is special providence in the fall of a sparrow"-"Is it the King?"... HAMLET (To body of Polonius) Thou wretched, rash, intruding fool, farewell! I took thee for thy better. Take thy fortune. Thou find'st to be too busy is some danger.
0:42 It's insanely hard to sell a declaration that you've been killed, but Richard Briers manages to do it. A soft final whisper, disbelieving that he could actually be killed by this mad young prince. He's always underestimating Hamlet in the play, and now he's paid for that with his own life.

-Polonius
"I hide behind curtains because I have a fear of being stabbed;"
1:08 I know it’s supposed to be a tragic moment but man, THAT is the expression the actor went with? It’s literally the “Oh you” face 😂😂😂
King Ghidorah: Oh, bummer! I thought Polonius is Hamlet's evil uncle!
1:08 I love how Hamlet's face is the definition of "...shit!"
1:05 and it's at that moment that he knew: he'd fucked up
It’s a good performance but you can’t deny that this scene is so bizarre it’s funny.
Branagh's Hamlet is shouting all the time.
