I wish branagh did films of all shakespeares works. Unlike the cgi cinematics released today, branaghs shakespeares stick very close to the original. This film was 4 hours long and it flew by for me.
Hamlets actor also played Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets.
Hamlet has just gotten an eyefull of the suffering his behavior has caused, and he has to deny his part in it, but he can't. He knows in his heart that he is the most responsible for Ophelia's death, and every claim he makes about it is exagerated, i.c. "I loved Ophelia, 40,000 brothers could not overtop my love for her, ... You talk of mountains, let them throw millions of acres on us. Hamlet is desperately trying to absolve himself of guilt for Ophelia's death.
How can you not cry. God hamlet cuts so deep.
Where i can watch it all together
Gotta love Hamlet. He's so crazy.
As a literature student, i have to perform this 😪 came to take an idea
I’d prefer Helena Bonham Carter playing Ophelia
0:37 Robin Williams! In Hamlet!
Wow!
Only BRIAN BLESSED could have whispers that were still LOUD
Actor is not good but kate is awesome
Kenny B? I can't get over his 90s hair.
It's a bit odd that Horatio thinks he can still poison himself with that cup when Hamlet turned it upside down over Claudius' head. There should be no poison left.
0:10 what is the painting of?
Scar and Claudius:Long Live The King
dead bodies dont blink 🥶
Kate Winslet's characters have the worst luck in their romances...Great acting on all counts, though!
Could be the direction with all the closeups but this is the first version I see where I'm actually not left wondering if he's leaving her in order to save her or he just doesn't care. He cares.
Polonius was such a dickhead.
Who on earth takes a nap outside when there’s snow??
« There’s someone behind the curtain! Only one way to find out… »

At least Hamlet is with his mother, father, and Ophelia in Heaven
I absolutely love his plays. The story and the dialogue are amazing. rarely matched by modern media.
When I saw this in school, that scene when he was rubbing the wine in his mouth was hilarious
"What is between you.......give me up the TRUTH!"
what version is this hamlet and who is it directed by
Hamlet (1996), directed by Kenneth Branagh (who also plays Hamlet)
"Ay, springes to catch woodcocks!"
Did anyone else laugh at Laeretes throwing a bible at Hamlet?
Damn it! They cut off right when he is about to say the best part 😠 "The rest is silence."
got caught slippin
Samuel L. Jackson.
he got owned
Can anyone explain who stabbed Robin Williams and why??
Fortinbras’s army I believe
@@papabear6611This whole scene reminds me of "Brandy and Mr Whiskers" 😊.
It's so quick I thought he stabbed himself at first
Kenneth Branagh's performance is the most brilliant portrayal I've ever seen. This is just soooooooo delightful.
2:14 I swear this man also played Leonardo in Much Ado About Nothing by Kenneth Branagh,1993
This scene always spoke to me. My sister loved the play Hamlet. and this scene speaks volumes to my grief since she's passed. Bravo.
bro calm down😭😭
Pensar que el actor que hacia del rey Claudius tenia 58 años en esa pelicula y ahora tiene casi 85
No scenery was chewed in this scene. Hats off to Kate.
This is awesome from William Shakespeare
Officially maggot sacks do look you straight in the eyes when they speak to you quite frequently with an amused smile on their faces, "You don't get it, I'm dead." His father's ghost, per Shakespeare's play, rose from the dead breaking from his grave and wraps. He's a zombie not a ghost that disappears in thin air. They are phantoms of their old selves, speaking with their regular voice and tongue, repeating their old manners and expressions as from before when they lost their souls. You can recognize them sometimes, because in the highest degree of decay they have glassy eyes, which is a state we in the modern day prolong for too long a time with "medication," even though they are dead. You can also test them "to see whether they still have all their marbles:" offer them one marble in one hand and five in the other AFTER you explain to them, "If you go for the one marble you get five, if you go for the five, you get none." Ask them with words first, "Are you going to try for the one or the five?" They will most likely tell you they will go for the one, but when they have to try it physically, they go for the five, hence they get none: they have lost all their marbles.
Tyrese Gibson.

😢im emotional
wow
Awful
Kate Winslet Is The Best She Is My Role Modell❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice to see Gilderoy Lockhart regained his memory.
It seems the defects of his failed memory charm seems to have given him madness
I bet he's posing as Hamlet, the son of the dead king, after killing the real Hamlet and forging all the paperwork and fooling everyone with his blindingly beautiful blonde hair.
Was that Robin Williams?
Yes.
Indeed
@@TheSuperCenaFanThis whole scene makes me want to eat everyone in that room 😋 😫 😩 😭 😍 😤.
Holy shit, I’d completely forgotten he was in this! Mind, it’s over 20 years since I saw it in school!
The og: "Get the fuck out of my sight"
1:43 good sir, what are you doing?
