I prefer being able to watch what goes on after the takedown. It also doesn't matter if it wasn't "amazing" or "spectacular" enough. It's all fascinating to me. The slow-mo and the close up shots are great. No need to apologize or feel like you have to wow us. We're here because we like you and we like tarantulas.
those kind of mushrooms are a good sign!! That means your set up was perfectly healthy! they are also not harmful to the T. Those were some of the prettiest mushrooms I've seen in a set up too!
I would like to offer a suggestion, would you consider making a feeding video under strong blue light, or maybe even try some black light? I would love to see the nocturnal feeding behaviors, and I think it would make interesting content.
@@matt80one I do, but I'm betting they aren't the only invertebrate that can fluoresce. Maybe a feeder like those big green worms... the name escapes me at present. In any case, really strong blue LEDS would create a nice nocturnal ambiance. Maybe the tarantulas will behave differently in their preferred light conditions.
@@clintonneuhaus1818 If you mean hornworms, I remember Petko saying in a video that he can't get those where he lives. It was in a recent video where he was watching Reptillatus feeding I believe.
When mushrooms grow in your enclosure, it means you have the perfect environment. It might as well be a slice of the outdoors. I'd be jumping for joy!!
Those mushrooms should break down leaves and unused biomass to make your soil more nutritious for your plants, I'd suggest some good decomposition media like more leaves to help the plants grow. I might even take one or two caps and tap them over any Tropical/High humidity setup you have and then toss in a few more springtails into each enclosure. That should instantly help with plant growth and soil fertility and biomass for springtails to eat. Paul Stamets poured diesel onto a big pile of woodchips, absolutely soaked it all. Then he dropped mushroom spores in it and a couple months later the wood pile was covered in plant life! I say leave the mycelium in there as long as it isn't completely taking over and you have springtails to keep it in check.
Linda is a beast! Her enclosure looks so awesome too! Just like the jungle floor in the wild! Glad we also got to see the P Machala, such nice coloring on him!
I honestly don't mind the 4 with the little extras. Also always impressed with the fact you can get shots in the dens the way you do! Keep up the great work! Such beautiful tarantulas
I think I like this format of feeding video more. Feeding videos that showcase more of the tarantulas are awesome, but the individual focus and seeing most of the feeding process was REALLY cool
Simply, awesome. I love how all your tarantulas were responsive to you, Petko. I thought it amazing how Linda backed up into her enclosure after you asked her, "Linda, what are you doing? Get back in your enclosure." And she actually does.
If you get mushrooms growing in the enclosure it usually means you have a perfect climate in there or something like that and also i think it looks kinda cool
This was GREAT!! The colors were vibrant and watching after they grabbed their meal was fascinating!! You get such joy doing what you obviously love! Thanks for sharing!!
This format is waaay better than i thought and im very impressed, its a great learning curve, i didnt know i wanted to know what happened after the takedown until i saw what happened after the take down. Great shots well done.
Great job editing Petko ! I liked what you did with the beat of the song and the cuts in video! It’s hard for me to explain but i think it was during the P. Regalis (sp) happy dancing
loved the take downs and the slow-mo i got into spiders and creepy crawlers because of my late father who was a pest control for the USAF and he loved the different spiders that we would watch together on your channel
I love how Linda sheepishly backed up in her enclosure when you told her off lol, awesome takedown 🤩 she's definitely got the jazz hands on with her spinderets for the happy dance (I have no idea if I spelt that right?)🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it is great that you keep a wall of their skin, recently I thought you were collecting the dead spiders. It looks awesome, keep doing these videos!
Hey Petco! For 2:49 , yes, you have to cut open and gut the abdomen of grasshoppers, the same way you'd do with a tarantula. I've done it on biology field practice, not a pleasant activity if you ask me :D Also, be careful when you pin the grasshopper because the thin antennae can break very easily.
Hello Petko! I wonder if Elvira's fangs were still too soft from her recent molt to penetrate that big grasshopper? Great to see a new video, very cool!
You could post a 20 min video of 1 spider & im still just as pleased!!! The editing of this one *chefs kiss* love the pokey takedown there so beautiful!!!!
I know it was posted a year ago, but watching it again I wanted to say that having these in-depth feedings with only a couple of T's but more close ups and footage of their habits is great! It's a nice change of pace from feeding several at a time. I know I certainly would be disappointed if you did these sort of feeding videos every now and again.
Epic video with some epic feeders. I always enjoy when you get interesting feeders for your tarantulas. I have enjoyed the hissing cockroaches and the headlight roaches as well!
those specific mushrooms are completely safe. they often grow in bioactive tanks. i have them growing in my tokay gecko tank right now and have had them in many other tanks with reptiles, amphibians, and inverts before
I really liked the footage of Linda after the take down, I like seeing more of them doing their thing and the slow motion strikes were cool from Elvira
Petko could u make a rehouse video for the a.geniculata. So we can honor her with a beautiful enclosure because she never disappoints in feeding videos.🥸
This was great! I actually really liked being able to stay with each tarantula for a bit after the takedown. I liked watching their webbing behavior. It was also really interesting to see how each tried to handle such large prey.
Clips were great. I, for one, was glad to hear that the hoppers were slowly dying. A fully active hopper can be potentially fatal to a tarantula. They love kicking their back legs to try and get away and the spines can cut through the abdomen.
Gotta love that classic Acanthoscurria geniculata feeding response! CHOMP Edit- and the colors of the grasshopper and the P. machala!!! Sheesh! What a fireworks show today, Petco!
The mushrooms are Leucocoprinus ianthus if you're interested. Common one to appear in houseplants/vivariums. Perfectly safe (don't eat them though :D). They appear when soil conditions are good and moist enough.
Hey petko even tho you dont get as many views as back in the day i still love ur vids and u are my favorite content creator i started about 2 years ago after watching a bunch of videos that you made :)

I 100% agree. I love seeing their natural behaviors
My tarantulas are in my bedroom. I love the hours after feeding when I get to watch them dance around and enjoy their food.
100% agree. I always watch mine eat after too. It’s meditating 🧘♀️
This 💯
Well said 👊
I think Linda stomping away the isopod was my favorite part.
"This is my grasshopper- get out of here!" *stomp stomp stomp*
def. one of the hi-lights ...loved it
😂😂😂
Hahaha that’s hilarious!
Petko: gets grasshoppers for a feeding video
The grasshoppers knowing their eventual fate: *Guess I’ll die*
I thought he was feeding the grasshoppers. Not using hoppers for food. 😳
Petko: What are you doing and where do you think you’re going?
Linda, caught red-handed: *embarrassingly backs away*
those kind of mushrooms are a good sign!! That means your set up was perfectly healthy! they are also not harmful to the T. Those were some of the prettiest mushrooms I've seen in a set up too!
I want some of those too lol
Flower pot parasols are the prettiest mushrooms I've seen in enclosures.. Bright yellow.

Fr that would a crazy good video
That would work best with scorpions as they glow under blacklight (but you probably allready know that).

Fully agree I love mushrooms and Paul is a god
Your enthusiasm for your taratulas and how knowledgeable you are about their individual personalities, shows how much you truly care for them.

Loved this video a more detailed look at each fury tarantula! Definatly should do this some more every now and then
this was a great video, felt like the good old day when you did this all on the couch
I love the slow-mo! Getting to see the fang action (when you can) is great
I'm kinda liking the chill feeding video, I guess necessity is the mother of invention.
Really enjoyed the extra long feeding clips. 😎👌🏻
Glad you enjoyed the tins. 😄

Also that hair kicking footage!! Amazing

I'm new to this channel and laughed so hard when you zoomed the camera in to you hitting the enclosure into the camera. Well done sir 👏
I have heard mushrooms growing in your potted plants was a sign the soil is healthy and has lots of organic material. Definitely take a look though.
I never sealed to be amazed by the wow factor all big spiders have even our house spiders have in the UK. Keep it up Petko

I would highly recommend that Monarch Monster, very tasty!
And by the looks of it, if your a tarantula then grasshoppers are very tasty as well.
