As Christmas is right around the corner, we thought we would release an appropriate song befitting the season.
My brother arranged the piece. My family sang it.
Please no bad language in the comments. We want this to be family friendly:)
We really hope you enjoy it:)
Lyrics:
Veni veni, Emmanuel
Captivum solve Israel,
Qui gemit in exsilio,
Privatus Dei Filio.
R: Gaude! Gaude! Emmanuel,
nascetur pro te Israel!
Veni, O Sapientia,
quae hic disponis omnia,
veni, viam prudentiae
ut doceas et gloriae. R.
God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
Now to the Lord sing praises,
All you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood
Each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas
All others doth deface.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
Gaudete, gaudete, Christus est natus
Ex Maria virgine, gaudete
Tempus adest gratiae, hoc quod optabamus
Carmina laetitiae devote redamus
Gaudete, gaudete, Christus est natus
Ex Maria virgine, gaudete
Gaudete, gaudete, Christus est natus
Ex Maria virgine, Gaudete
What Child is this
Who laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations, rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the new-born King
O holy night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
O hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine
O night divine
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here come the wise men from Orient land
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger
In all our trials born to be our friend
Christ is the Lord
O praise His Name forever!
His power and glory
Evermore proclaim
His power and glory
Evermore proclaim
Here is our song for Christmas! We hope you enjoy it:)
:D This is so perfect!
Now all we're missing is Adeste Fideles, to be released on December 24th at midnight. ;)
'Angels we have heard on high' in the original French would be neat, too...
U guys are talented. I used to sing in a choir. Keep up the beautiful work.
Clamavi De Profundis I love all your Songs 😍
Please show yourself in your videos! We all love you and we want to see those masters behind the songs 😍😢
Need. Full. Christmas. ALBUM!!!!
This is spectacular. Wonderful work, as usual.
If anyone could make traditional Christmas songs that epic, it would be this family. God bless them.
God bless us, everyone. -Tiny Tim
Yes Lord bless this family!
I love you selected only Carols centered in Christ
Well, considering how much effort they put into the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit songs...
Doesn’t surprise me in all honesty.
Probably because there weren’t many Pagan “carols” recorded after they were forcibly converted to Christianity and had their holidays used as a basis for Christmas
@@carsonstephens2508 well, there are plenty of carols that say nothing about Christianity, and you seem to know very little about true history... Really. This modern sentiment about pagan culture stripped from them was seldomly shared by people in the middle ages, for example. You should read the analyzis of myths by lets say Terry Gunnel
Same, makes me think about all those children and mentally ill people that were abused in his name^^
@@carsonstephens2508 must be really hard going through life not knowing anything you didn't learn from Family Guy.
after the LOTR music you guys have done, I can only imagine a bunch of dwarfs or elves singing this now...
Just so we're clear - are we talking santa elves, or like wood elves and stuff?
Fitting, 'cause JRR Tolkien was a devout Catholic... And LOTR (the Books) are full of hidden Catholic theology. I just say: Destruction of the Ring on 25th of March; look the date up in the Catholic Liturgical Calendar.
You thinking is backwards, look back.
@@elliottfunkhouser4486 ?????
Blackwing233 J.R.R. Tolkien was very much a Catholic which was a big inspiration to his works like LOTR
So good it doesn’t even need to be Christmas time to listen to
Facts
I have spent few weeks in a Trappist monastery and your songs always remind me of the monks there when they were singing their prayers. Something unforgettable. Keep it up!
Which one did you visit? Gethsemani?
One that is in my country. The name is Nový Dvůr.
Oh, Czech Republic! :)
did you get all that from Google Translate, or do you actually know the Czech's language?
@@KrissVector-et3sq Are you asking me? If you do, then the answer is "yes", I come from the Czech Republic, so I speak Czech. (I would not say I actually know the language, since it is very beautiful and complex and I´ll be learning it my whole life. :) )
Your "Gaudete" was sublime! (The whole medley is simply wonderful but "Gaudete" - unbeatable!)
Totally agree. A full standalone version of Gaudete and Veni, Veni, Emmanuel would be amazing
@@Halloyaw11 Good news from the future, they now have both!
@@ImperialGuard322nd Yes! I just watched them a couple days ago. Completely forgot about this comment
This make me wish for a full version of "God rest ye merry gentlemen"...
seconded.
MY god! Yes please!
Agreed!
I'll throw my vote in for that
agreed. and carol of the bells. and noel. and and and. bless you all.
Now this is my idea of Christmas Carols! Every single release you guys have made has been a masterpiece to my ears; I look forward to more compositions and interpretations of music with your style. Truly astonishing!
Make a full version of Veni, Veni, Emmanuel, pleeease
I'm still waiting for this...
And Gaudete, God that was beautiful
This ^
maybe this year?
@@allensimpson4454 one hopes
This is magnificent, truly brings Glory to Jesus Christ Our Lord
I don't understand why we can't like a video more than once!
You can only like a video once *per account*. Get thee on that!
Because the opinion of one person should only count as the opinion of one person?
Dallin Dunn you are entirely right! Although I am certain you understood my comment was not to be taken seriously in its literal sense. It was obviously meant as a compliment to the video.
The real reason is that performances like the one on this video would lead to servers crashing due to the massive amount of likes. ;)
Thumbs up if you prefer listening to THIS kind of Christmas music instead of ones of Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, etc.
I like both. Because why not? XD
And how!
I don't necessarily mind those songs...
But after over a decade in the service industry, 3yrs of which were spent night cleaning floors in a grocery store...
I've developed a fairly low opinion of canned, non offensive, non denominational, and approved for the woke public Christmas music that gets played on loop in such places.
Frosty... Snow... Trees... Jingle -freaking- BELLS!!
Some mish mashed combination thereof, are all they played some year's. (Notably, because of anti-Christian complaints about public displays of Christian Christmas Displays/Music. [Specifically members of Freedom from Religion Foundation] )
Defo. These clods who celebrate Christmas like an excuse to get bladdered, and never even mention Jesus ONCE on Christmas day!
I'm so sick of hearing Mariah Carey and Eartha Kitt and Slade and bloody John Lennon (who wrote the Worst Christmas Song Ever) in the shops.
I used to prefer the modern Christmas music, but over the years I’ve grown to prefer more religious Christmas music. This year I’ve gone out of my way to pretty much avoid modern Christmas music because I’ve lost my love for it.
I follow no recognised religion, but the fact is those of faith put everything they have into their music, and it shows in the results. This, and all like it, is beautiful, along with other things like the architecture of the faithful because it's their whole being. Long may it be so. Greetings of the season, however you choose to observe it!
And this is why I love the Christmas season. It’s cold outside, I’m warming by a fire and this music playing makes it perfect
It is simply wondrous to hear such a superb performance of my favorite Christmas music. I am enthralled by the sheer range of voice; from the lowest bass to the alto tenor. I always look forward to hearing your singing, and this is a pleasure to be sure. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
Clamavi de profundis have made another glorious masterpiece.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this may be the best Christmas video on UA-cam. Absolutely gorgeous.
Nice! You should definitely do an album of individual Christmas songs. I'd buy it.
I would, too.
me too!
I wouldn't. A LOTR album however...
Sadly, Clamavi De Profundis holds no rights on Lotr
Me too
Lovely Christmas Medley, and gosh I find your singing in latin absolutely superb
All of you are so wonderful. Thank you SO much for sharing your voices with us.
You guys. You GUYS. Stop making me cry!! It was all epic, and then the treble came in at the end and I have goosebumps on my goosebumps. Bravo, bravo, BRAVO.... and I agree with everyone else, you need full versions of all these carols.
Hmm that reminds me... how about doing an interpretation of the "Palästinalied"... the pronounciation of the old german could be a problem, but I think it'd be interesting
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pal%C3%A4stinalied
it should be noted that the first stance on the english wikipedia is missing a word, every version I've heard AND the one that's writtne on the german wiki puts "Nû" at the beginning
Nû álrêrst lébe ich mir werde,
sît mîn sündic ouge siht
daz here lant und ouch die erde,
der man sô vil êren giht.
ez ist geschehen, des ich ie bat:
ích bin komen an die stat,
dâ got menischlîchen trat.
Oh god, YES! There are far too few good versions of medieval music, let alone german medieval music!
"Miri it is" would also be awesome!
The Palästinalied has a few good versions... but unfortunatly no complete one. Atleast I havent found none
ua-cam.com/video/m5UX38J1UoU/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/J_zjgZJOFl4/v-deo.html
I like this Version, sung by several "medieval" musicians in germany. Well, most of it... The stile of Marcus von Langen is not really my cup of tea...
ua-cam.com/video/LVZfF9ne47A/v-deo.html
No no no, it needs balls, like this one

YES YES YES!!! DEUS VULT!
Praise Our Lord indeed. Absolutely beautiful composition.
The candles gradually lighting with the music🕯🕯🕯🕯
This is why I love you guys. As a fellow Christian this means a lot to me and you guys just made my night. Please do not ever stop making these beautiful medleys. You have the support of your fans 100% and I try to get the word out about your music. In all, Thank You, God bless your family, and have a Very Merry Christmas!
I sang this for a school Christmas program! The Gaudete gets stuck in you head. It’s still stuck in my head and it’s been 3 years!
Thanks for always making my day a greater day
Igor Cavalcanti what’s your favorite race in the middle-earth??
LORD Sauron I don't have a favourite race, but I love how both edain and elves have so different fates. The elves are doomed to live forever with the consequences of their actions. The edain will eventually perish but they will be able to live a life that have more freedom than the elves because their actions won't echo through eternity like the elves but through a little sparkle of time. For both races their greatest gift is also their greatest curse.
Igor Cavalcanti My favorite race is dwarves.I don’t like elves. They are very haughty.People they are simple. But dwarves I like for their brave, kind. They can be strange revengeful.I know all kings of clan of Durin.I also like hobbits.Everyone likes hobbits.Bilbo Baggins is and Sam are my favorite hobbits. But I don’t like Frodo.Only Sam did not yield to the will of the ring and he easy refused from ring. There was one thing which is stronger than valars and Gandalf and other istars. He is stronger than Eru.He is Gollum.I think that arkenstone is cooler than silmarill
Igor Cavalcanti you are good man but you don’t like dwarves
LORD Sauron it's not that I don't like the dwarves, it's just that I think the philosophy of Tolkien's work is better represented in the relationship between elves and edain. The dwarves have great characters, great heroes but sometimes I think they don't have the philosophy that edain and elves have.
The perfect song for Christmas. This will go on repeat so many times until Dec 24th.
O Holy Night was absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for singing this song with such reverence, as it was meant to be sung!
This is still by far one of my most favorite of your songs to come back to. Especially for “O Holy Night” at the end
Veni, veni, Immanuel,
Not really a X-mas song,
more an Advent song,
the 2 are connected obvi.
For many years, after I returned to the Church, I'd cry whenever they'd start singing this again during Advent.
It is so evocative of the heart's infinite yearning for God.
Maybe I'm weird, but it's the middle of Lent and I'm listening to Christmas music. Love it! Amazing work as usual!
Please, please do a full version of Gaudette. Your version is the best I've ever heard!
wow! can you do the full version for "Veni, Veni, Emmanuel"? It's amazingly beautiful!
Anyone else want a full cover of their Gaudete?
It ha such gravity and weight to it
Something mythic and mighty
Wow.
Can't describe the majesty of this in more words.
Yeah I'm going to need an album @Clamavi De Profundis
Burn the songs on the wall too
I'd love so much if you did a full version of Veni Veni Emanuel. I had never listened to such a powerful and deep version.
OMG, this is so perfect as always, thank you :')
I can't stop listening to this song over and over and over again.
How delightful! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas!
I sang Veni Veni Emmanuel for Christmas one year, when I was 11! A couple of people asked for a recording and now it’s played at random people’s Christmas parties lmao 😂😆. I honestly love that song so, so much!!!! This entire video is absolutely amazing!!
I love this medley of music because it is departure of the happy and chipper versions of Christmas music and is instead is more somber and deeper which is a wonderful change of pace for me.
Playing your playlist and just let the Christmas music play as well because it always relaxes me. Your voices are truly amazing and perfectly toned! Wish everyone would take time to listen!
Herod and eight soldiers disliked this.
ROFL
Yes funny 😁😇🙏
The last verse had me in tears... Thank you so much. You guys are truly gifted!
Finally my 4 years of Latin pay off
DammalleNamenweg haha I have 6! Step up your game! Those are rookie numbers!
On a more serious note it's useless and the only times I needed it was learning Spanish and vaguely understanding songs from Clamavi de Profundis. It's not really useful. Maybe if I was Catholic, idk.
I've heard that a degree in Latin helps to understand scientific terms, since they are often Latin origin.
@@98765zach From a financial/scientific (disregarding leftovers from the time were Latin was language of science)/entertainment viewpoint perhaps, but from a cultural viewpoint Latin is priceless!
@@98765zach or a lawyer, chemist or doctor maybe.
@@pRahvi0 maybe it's the basics of lots of European languages?
Perfect!!!!! Absolutely perfect!!!
Congratulations from Brazil!
God Bless you all
Please please can you release all these songs separately as well? They are all so beautiful and you sing them so well!
After listening to this once again after a few years, your singing brought tears to my eyes (it’s simply that beautiful). Given the beauty of your arrangements and all your voices, im practically begging that you do full christmas songs whenever you can!
As usual...brillant. Thank you for sharing with us
I can smell the Christmas incense, well done.
Lovely work guys (and gal, yes I heard you). I needed this with my day, and with Christmas being my favorite time of year, it was perfect
Great to find this at 10 minutes to Christmas Day - BRILLIANT! thank you + Merry Christmas
Jules
Congrats from belgium, i just love Lost of your songs (particulary dwarves ones) 😊
Finally there is a music channel that is christian but at the same time does songs from movies too Love YOU!!!!! sucks that i cant like a billion times!!!!!
PS please do some Redwall songs!!!
Now that's a brilliant idea!
To the tune of O Little Town of Bethlehem:
Beneath the cold white winter snow
Sleeps Mossflower until Spring
While snug in Cavern Hole below,
All Redwall's creatures sing.
Old Autumn gave us plenty,
Our harvest did not fail.
No plate or jug is empty,
There's good October ale.
Beautifully done, as always! Keep up the great work!
Finally! Some good Christmas music.
Not even an atheist could dislike this.
Noble 7 As an atheist myself, you are correct.
Ditto.
I am an atheist, but I like this song more than my strongly religious girlfriend does.
Not even a Heathen could dislike this. :P
Case in point here. :D
Atheist here.
Can confirm, and I daresay:
Anyone who DOES dislike this is a heretic and wrong anyway. :C
You made for me magnificent gift for christmas! I love this song! Thank You Clamavi!
Alas my love you do me wrong
To cast me off discourteously;
And I have loved you oh so long
Delighting in your company.
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my Lady Greensleeves.
I have been ready at your hand
To grant whatever thou would'st crave;
I have waged both life and land
Your love and goodwill for to have.

While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,

The Babe, the Son of Mary.
Het Luitboek van Thysius has this melody in it..
Christmas and New Year texts were associated with the tune from as early as 1686, and by the 19th century almost every printed collection of Christmas carols included some version of words and music together, most of them ending with the refrain "On Christmas Day in the morning". One of the most popular of these is "What Child Is This?", written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix.
Interesting.
I only knew greensleeves, welp, the more you know.
Both are lovely songs

How amazing listen to this christmas theme.
Your voice are so cool. Not only angelical voices but human voices too.... rsrsrsr!!
Thanks!
When I heard those deep tones of the "Veni, Veni Emmanuel" I felt so excited and proud to be a Patreon supporter, small enough contribution though it is. I wish you could come to the church in of St. John the Baptist in Louisville, KY and sing the Mass when I celebrate at midnight. Do you also sing in a church choir? I would love to be able to sing with you all. When I was a child my family and some friends would go at night a couple of days before Christmas and sing carols to neighbors. Wonderful memories! Thanks for your uplifting and inspiring music! The world needs more artists like you. Benedicat vos omnipotens Deus!
When you realize you clicked 'like' before you even played the video.
Megan Burcke and you also realize that there was almost no way you could dislike it again besise a mistake. Because this family is wonderful, and we're blessed to have them sing for us like this
guilty lol i knew i was going to love it anyways so i figured id get the like part out of the way
I don't want to destroy the almighty number of likes (42)!
I never get tired of this!
Now this is real Christmas music!
I'd love a full version of Gaudete. I'd also love you guys to do "Phos Hilaron" (Hymn of Light from the 4th century)
I keep enjoying their music, and they make me feel good about myself
WONDERFUL, Merry Christmas to all, thank you!
YES! This is epic, and you did Gaudete! That is such an epic carol.
Also, the boy soprano hitting that high note in O Holy Night was awesome.
Wasn't expecting something festive. Nice
Well, that hit me in the feels. Gloriously divine! I'm going to play this on Christmas day now for sure.
I don't know how you do it but your singing is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard (as far as I can remember). The sound of human voice - so pure, even innocent. Especially the last song almost made me cry out of emotion.
I don't know which is harder to believe: that you use some digital post-processing to get the tune so fine, or that you don't. On one hand, I couldn't recognize any digital effects. On the other hand, the sound was so amazingly clean, I have never heard so skilled singing.
As always, I enjoy listening to your work. It is so soothing and very solemn. I love it! You guys are the best!
I think everything done here was incredibly beautiful and well produced.
I listen to this medley more than just this time of year, but thank you for making this song and the other Christmas songs available for us. They are beautiful and this one especially.
I would love to have a full version of Veni veni Emmanuel. Its my favorite Christmas song and this is by far the best version I have ever heard.
why did I not listen to this a month ago! well done guys. well done!
So beautiful! Thank you
I'm totally not a person that visits churches or something, but I seriously love these songs. Thank you :)
They help me focus and relax!
Nevertheless I know the songs, because as a christian, I celebrate Christmas.
In this spirit: Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
As always, another beautiful upload from Clamavi DP. Your young boy soprano is wonderfully talented, too.
This year you guys should definitely make a full version of oh come oh come Emmanuel
First song is absolutely my favorite! Thank you.
Spettacolare!= Wonderful!.
Greetings from Italy ;)
I absolutely love this, just as I love everything else you guys do. Your voices are amazing. I wish my family/friends could do things like this with me. I am in choir in school, and absolutely love it, and it's things like this that make me want to start a group to put songs together and preform it. Keep these coming, I'm in love with them.
I love that all the songs are actually about Christ!!!
Amazing! Your voices are so soothing :D
