Thank you for this! It's so epic!!! You're great! It's a breathtaking performance, no words can really describe the beauty of each one of your pieces, you capturate so well the spirit of Tolkien's poetry! Never deceiving! Will you please sing "Bilbo's last song" too, please? Greetings from Italy!
I regard Tolkien as the greatest writer of the English language. My father is lifelong fan, my grandfather was a fan, and I am a fanatic reader as well. Tolkien is truly one of the greatest storytellers and world-weavers ever to write and every time I hear you guys sing a song from his poetry I do think he would be honored that his poems have been brought to life in such a way. It keeps his work alive. I have never been anything less than completely satisfied by your guys' work. Keep it up, it brings a tear to my eye every time.
That is exactly what Tolkien is for me too. I've read many, many other great authors - none reach his mighty depth and awe-inspiring style. As a lifelong fan of the Professor (my parents and grandparents are fans too!) I am trying my best to pass this love for the next generation! May his name echo down in the centuries!
I think you'll find shakespeare has always had that title... In fact a few of the popular quotes derived from some of Shakespeares. In fact the title of this song is one of those quotes
"All that is gold does not glitter" "Not all those who wander are lost" "The old that is strong does not wither" "Deep roots are not reached by the frost" "From the ashes, a fire shall be woken" "A light from the shadows shall spring" "Renewed shall be blade that was broken" "The crownless again shall be King".
"In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! We are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory. Farewell!" - Last words of Aragorn, son of Arathorn, King Elessar of the realms of Men. I can picture this playing as Aragorn is crowned King at the end of the War of the Ring, and yet again when he is finally laid to his rest. Clamavis de Profundis, second to none.
For a well-organized mind, death is nothing but one's next adventure. -Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
Jakub Owadowski the best litany against fear is memories of good things. I also used the Ring Prophecy to help against panic attacks. It foretells hope in a time of darkness and brought to mind the memories of reading these books for the first time.
"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! For all you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"- Aragorn, son of Arathorn, addressing the assembled forces of Gondor and Rohan shortly before the Battle of the Black Gate. Magnificent! All of your Tolkien songs are like hymns. I once saw a reviewer refer to the LOTR films as possessing "an air of mournful majesty", and you have captured this perfectly. Bravo!
I'm reading a book called "The Glitter And The Gold" at the moment, and every single time I see the cover, this song pops into my head. I've been earwormed for DAYS!
As usual, you guys take the cake. This is like listening to a hero reborn epic music. The voice harmony is awesome, the score is amazing, and the echo affect is sweet. You guys rock
Honestly, this wasn't one of my favourite songs when I first listened to it, but then you captured me with those stunning vocals during "Farewell sweet earth and northern sky!" that I find myself returning again and again just to hear that line, gentle and peaceful, washing over me. Amazingly done!
Whence do these verses arise? Verse one was by Bilbo after he first learned the truth of Strider, Aragorn. The second verse was recited to the Council by Boromir, who heard its message in a dream, though he did not understand it. The verses are prophesy and hope, sent to them as a guide. I like to think of it as a chorus in a Classical play, singing out to the stage and the audience, "Take heart, though things look bleak now, the king will return, will take up the sword, and a hobbit will bring the victory!"
Amazing, that part with the words of Beren was deep. Waiting for the full Lay of Leithian someday, but this one is already a great tribute to Tolkien and Aragorn

The Wounded, Broken Race of Men
To lead the sheep to peace again
In his form was seen no splendor
Yet love burned in his heart so tender
