I just bought this powermatic 80 and man I can tell that this timepiece worth every penny of my money cause I can’t take my eyes of my watch. Absolutely amazing.
@stevepapa loving it. It's a great daily. So versatile, and that strap is amazing for the price. It's a toss up between my hamilton khaki pilot pioneer (bronze) and this for my fav watch.
I’m buying the blue Prx as soon as it is on sale here, in the UK. I want the auto but I could definitely live without the waffle, sunburst is fine. Don’t worry about your Omega clasp, it’ll polish out.😎
I keep hearing about how the Powermatic 80 is not able to be regulated. True it doesn’t have a traditional lever for regulation, but that’s a factor of it having a free sprung balance. It’s definitely harder to regulate, but there are screws on the balance wheel that can be adjusted for regulation, similar to your Omega, or any watch with a free sprung balance wheel.
Good video! I coudn't decide so I've also bought the two !!! ;) Excellent watches, the quartz as an 'every day watch' always ready to go, and the auto a little bit more sophisticated. Anyway, you can't go wrong whichever you choose. Cheers!
6:53 there's eccentric screws on the balance to adjust the rate, like that omega you have, because it's a free sprung balance hairspring, kinda like gyromax, but for masses.
Man, I just ordered the blue waffle patterned prx Powermatic 80 and it is scheduled to be on my wrist in about 2 weeks. But after watching this, I might have to go with another watch cause my wrist is going to be too small for this one... We'll see. great video btw man
@@stevepapa For sure! I have one on order from an AD, Im a little worried because i have a 6 inch wrist, but i tried on the quartz version and it looked great.
Got the blue on order, but concerned that you can't regulate easily, the case back doesn't look easily removable and it has some proprietary Swatch Grp parts. Value is still amazing though. Edit: If you but from Tissot you get a free service voucher. This is huge for this watch.
Thanks for the review. I really like the watch, but would have to order it online. Question, will it fit an 8 1/4 (21cm) wrist? Any advice would be appreciated. Take care.
I took two links out so it's possible. Someone on my unboxing video recommended going to Tissot's website and you can choose your wrist size when you order.
I haven't tried the Powermatic version on wrist, however I have tried the quartz (mostly to see if I wanted to wait for the PRX Powermatic instead of getting a Tissot Gentleman). On my 8in wrist the watch size was perfect but the bracelet was only just big enough; to the point that I'd personally either add a half link or replace one of the half links with a full link. This is in line with the Tissot website, that offers strap sizing up to 20cm (7.9in). My guess would be that your 8.25in wrist would want 1 link added (unless you like your bracelets really snug), so if you're not going to order through an AD (that should happily add a link), I'd see if you can get access to individual links before making a purchase, just in case.
It appears to be underside only and a very thin layer. I made a comparison video where you can see the difference between the quartz and auto PRXs. The quartz doesn't have AR.
I am currently saving up to buy my first Swiss automatic, specifically Omega Seamaster Diver 300m in white dial but I am so tempted to get this Tissot as my first Swiss automatic. Should I save to get the Omega or give in try this one out?
I recently brought the Omega Seamaster Professional, which was a watch I was saving up for, for nearly a year, and in couldn't be happier. Not sure how long it takes you to save up $500-600 but I would hold off on this to buy the Omega IMO.
The PRX Powermatic 80 is an amazing timepiece, everything from the waffle dial to satin bracelets. Does anyone have any idea where to find rubber straps that suit this model? I like to change straps for my collection
Got this watch a couple days ago and I also love it. However, I feel the price (660 Euro in Germany) is a bit steep for what you're getting. The bracelet looks good, but feels a bit light and flimsy. Other Tissots around that price have better made bracelets. The brushing both on the bracelet and case is rather rough. The dial is beautiful, of course, but the hands also look cheap. Maybe it adds to the retro look, and I feel that retro heritage is where the price comes from, but there are watches that are better made for less money even. And that includes Tissot themselves. Also I agree it wears too big for a 40mm. I've got 19cm wrists, so it's totally ok for me, but I would have liked the watch to be 38mm. Still, the watch looks stunning, it is a great design and I love to wear it. Nevertheless I would say, don't expect a finishing you would expect from a watch in this price bracket.
That's up to you and how you like to wear your watches. But I've heard it wears large for smaller wrists. I would probably look into the new, smaller sized PRX models.
@@rkhangura6960 It was on the Ernest & Jones website about a month back. 20% off so I pounced on it. It's back up to full price now unless you spend a £1000 or more then you get 20% off your order
This review will do your channel well. Congrats. Great watch and appreciate the review.
Thanks brother!
I love that you have the exact same wrist size as me. Really helps the visual when I see a watch on your wrist that I'm interested in.
Glad I can help! Also great name!
@@stevepapa Absolutely, and thank you!
Got my powermatic 80 on pre-order and cannot wait for it to arrive. That blue waffled dial is stunning for the price range.
Definitely! Worth every penny!

Ah yeah they do run slightly bigger than advertised. But they do have a smaller size but I'm not sure if it's a powermatic
Awesome review! My local store ordered it directly to tissot and its arriving in 2-4weeks! It was 690€ tho

Im with you, exhibition case is for the 20k range. I dont even want to see the movement on my rolexs. I grabbed this in green because looks cool

They need to make a 36-38 mm version, I'd buy this immediately if it was smaller.

The more I see videos of this watch the more I want to get it. Beautiful watch. Trying to decide between blue or black dial.
I'll tell you this, in more dimly lit areas it looks black. I personally would go with the blue.
Thanks for the response. Just curious, after owning them for a while do you prefer the waffle design or the first one?
@@itsELL24 that's a good question. To be honest, I could go either way. If I had to choose I would go with the waffle dial but I like both.
Blue🤩
Please do SOTC 2021 😉
Will do sometime in September!
How easy is to size the bracelet ?
Super easy, barely an inconvenience! Simple split pins so it wasn't bad at all.

Bingo!
The real thing is pretty prx
Watch would’ve been great with a screw down crown.
I could agree if the crown was bigger but 100m from a push pull crown is pretty good IMO.

Yet again, no mention of accuracy 🤔
Sorry about that! I talk about accuracy aside from listed tolerances since it's going to vary from watch to watch.
