My second joint in my big toe is fractured dr says they see healing but its been two month's now idk how long this will take to heal he said it can take time but I'm in pain
So how can one know if the fracture is fully healed? Through X ray or something?

Do the bones have to be touching to heal ?I have a diagonal displaced fracture on my 4th metacarpal. I feel something clicking near the break site whenever I wiggle my fingers in the cast and it made me wonder this.

What if the bone is not aligned and surgery is also not done. Will it heal naturally without proper alignment of the fractured bone?
No way surgery must
If it isn’t set back into place or surgery done, it will not be good
if fracture is not big and caring broken side by immoblizing it then it might be recover without surgery
Bones can heal while not being aligned, though it will stay unaligned. If the injury needed surgery for a good recovery, it might not heal very well, but idk.

I had pain on my knee as well. It’s getting better now, so it’s normal I looked into it too. I’m on 8 weeks fibula, surgery and 6 weeks tibia surgery. Had 2 plates one each bone,and screws. I’m 3 week’s physical therapy now. Moving my foot and leg almost normal now very little pain after stiffness.
For close fracture fibula when is hard callus safe to walk again?

I broke my leg from a hard fall in the beginning of august . I am in my 60’s . The bone healed but the thigh above where I broke my leg is always painful and I am having trouble walking . Could it have been nerve damage or what can I do to stop this constant pain ? Had CT scans and nothing else was broken . I am in great misery . Suggestions ?

So the bulking bone is normal and going to be back to normal shape?
I broke my foot and it’s been 2 months, I go back fora follow up on Tuesday to get repeat x-rays and a reassessment

Please reply. My dog broke her leg. The doctor put a cast on her. She said that the bones were still overlapping about 1 inch. She said we need surgery to align them. My question is. Can the soft callus stage allow the doctor to move the bone and align it a little more and let it continue to heal without surgery?

Sir...can a distal bone growth?...i mean distal ulna n radius... actually my distal ulna has been removed after a motorcycle accident and distal radius too...now my wrist has been fused...my radius shorter than ulna...what i want to know is... If we lose distal bone can it grow back but not in its shape? If the distal can grow so i have an idea to make a distal ulna n radius fake cap so that when my bone grows so it fills the cap reshape as distal ulna and radius...so that i can make total wrist replacement.

He probably meant for simple fracture. Mine took 2 years to completely get back to normal. I had an inversion ankle injury on my right foot. I didn't see any doctor though.
After 4 years, my left foot took the same fall and even worse. I'm now in day #26(6.23.2023) and I still can't walk, but I can stand a bit. Just waiting for 6 weeks and will go to the doctor if I can't still walk by then. I can feel the healing process though, I've been bed bound for almost a month but that helps too even if I feel like the world is ending 🤣

Hello Dear Sir,
Sir my tibial implant was done 22 months ago. screw infection was occured, 3 months post operation, at distal end.
A screw itself came out after 6 months of surgery due to infection. and other one was removed by surgery, the infection went away and came from time to time, it was controlled by using antibiotics, pus and blood come out from the screw point uptill now. Doctor said that nail must be removed now, but may be this infection does appear after nail removal also!! what would be the appropriate way to eliminate the infection completly? Please suggest me best possible solutions! Thank you.
