I really like it, but what abut the tools. Can we use something else which is easily available to give that effects.

This is pretty cool...have you ever tried to use corn syrup paint on this? I know it's probably not as good as the paints, but it gives a neat shiny look and it's pretty cost effective. :D I think this would be a good idea to do with kids!

+Media Ras The Quilted Foil project uses the Two-Tone Tooling Foil www.dickblick.com/products/two-tone-tooling-foil/. It is thicker than aluminum kitchen foil, but still soft enough to easily emboss. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!

I'm interested enough to go look for more info. Definitely a great project merging crafts. Although I call projects like this 'gateway' projects because they can end up creating another addiction with new tools and materials and more money. Sigh…

OK but if you have gold foil, WHY did you use the silver side? Now it looks like regular tin foil. Seems like a waste to me. Nice picture though.

She could have used either side, I'm pretty sure she used the silver side because it gave better contrast to the colours that she was using
