I discovered your channel only recently and I liked it so I signed up. I was looking for videos about Valencia because my 13 year old grandson is there for the month of October for a soccer training. Now for sure I have to put in my next year’s itinerary once the crisis is over. Never been to Valencia but have been in other Spanish cities. Can’t wait to get there.
I like your videos. Have you tried the "almuerzo valenciano"? (Early lunch, before 12h) For 5€ you can have a beer, a big bocadillo, olives/peanuts and a coffee. Your dog is so cute :)
Hello Vicky and Josh!! love this video. Been following you guys when we were living in Lake Worth, FL. We used to have a 100 Montaditos in Miami and West Palm Beach, FL but it only lasted for a few months. We arrived here less than 2 months and was living in Russafa for 1 month at airbnb. We did the same thing with 100 Montaditos here on Wednesdays and Sundays. And love the Churros n Bunuelos place (we used to live up the block). Cheers to you two!!
Hello Jen! Wow I’ve never known that 100 Montaditos was in U.S! Lol That’s funny. I’m glad you guys made here safe, and looks like we are neighbors! Say hi to us if we run into in Ruzafa! 😊👋🏼
@@ACoupleofNomads Hi there, is this Vicky or Josh? Lol...yes, my hubby and I arrived here safely and vaccinated. We enjoy watching your videos especially during your food exploration - tapas and cerveza time.. We live by the Ayuntamiento now, not too far from the HardRock. Perhaps we can all meet for cafe or cerveza.
Awesome! This is Vicky. Yes sounds good. You guys are not so far from us, we can certainly meet up for a beer! Let us know! Please send us an email or send us a message through Instagram 😊 Cheers.
I love montaditos! I used to go with my friends all the time during my stay in San Sebastian, but we would always go to have a quick snack before going to another bar for drinks. The Tinto de Verano is very refreshing. But yeah, not the best choice to eat every day but for a quick and cheap bite it is really good.
Totally agree! If you want cheap and quick bite this is a good choice but definitely not the the best and healthiest choice 😅And we love Tinto Verano as the weather gets hot. So refreshing! 👍🏼Thank you for watching! 😊
Hey! I am a high school friend of Tod Mercer, and I mentioned on FB that I would like to move to Spain, and he told me about your channel- Looks like you are doing it right! Thanks, I look forward to watching more of your videos!
love watching your videos and was hoping to see you while I was in Valencia last week from Los Angeles (no sightings, darn...). May I ask....what neighborhood do you live in, and do you love it?
Hi Gaby! Hope you enjoyed Valencia last week. Unfortunately last week we were at home for the most part as we got pretty sick from our 2nd vaccine shot. 😅 We do really like where we live. It’s not the most beautiful neighborhood like Ruzafa with pretty buildings, etc but it’s super local, quiet, relaxed and affordable. Also a great location as you are still close to other areas like city center and Ruzafa. Thank you for watching our videos 😊
Love your guys video. Can you guys give us a few recommendations for neighborhood? We want to move to Spain and will be visiting next March, hope COVID is under control. Can you give us some recs or make a video of neighborhoods. Thanks
Hi Ricardo, thank you for watching our video and glad you enjoyed it. Choosing neighborhood is really depending on what you’re looking for. Your budget, do you want quite place or want to be surrounded by bars and restaurants, etc. En Corts, Mont-olivet are good if you want something local and affordable. Ruzafa is beautiful and you get lots of bars and restaurants but they’re more expensive and it can be quite noisy. El Carmen is historical and beautiful but it’s going to be more pricey. Gran via is pretty cool with lots of shops and restaurants, but it’s pricey and can be noisy. You can also look at Benimaclet, another hip neighborhood. If you like to be close to the beach, El Cabanyal is a good place to be. I suggest you walk around these neighborhood day and night to see how they feel when you come here. 😊Good luck with your move and let us know if you have any other questions!
Hello, I am from Valencia for more than 40 years, I have sometimes had churros with chocolate for breakfast, but I assure that I always have them for a snack. (in the afternoon, after the noon meal) They are right with the "100 montaditos" it is not bad to try, too much bread, it is not the best but it is cheap. 😉 Un saludo desde Valencia. 👋
Hello Juan, we love churros as snack too! 😋 Yes, 100 montaditos are not the best quality but not bad once in a while for a cheap meal. 😊Thank you for watching our video!
I think the wings are definitely worth it. 4-5 wings here in FL. about $6-8. It looks like you can walk most anywhere. Do you need a car if you live in Valencia? Ohhhh....Carmel says hi. She liked the market.
Thanks for watching! You can’t beat it for 1€! Yes, you can walk everywhere, no problem. There are bike lanes as well. Hi Carmel! Glad you liked the market!
It seems a good deal, but you are eating defrozen bread. For that price you have better offer in the almuerzo inside the market, in its bar, or some places here and there, usually regular bars. Also, you live close to me. You have to try Aleimuna restaurant, they only work now with take away moroccan food, but it's delicious. But they want to reopen soon, and they have a real war shelter from the civil war in the basement!
@@nadezdakasparova1350 Genial! Barcelona es una ciudad magnifica. Nos encanta Valencia. Esperamos que disfruta de nuestros videos y puede vivir en Valencia pronto! Buena suerte 😊
Absolutely. You're right. It's just very cheap eats that you might try once in a while for the price. Quantity over quality. We grab a beer there sometimes. 😆

Looks like a good place to have drinks and cheap drinking food! It won't matter how good it tastes if you're drunk anyway. 🥴 Hahaha.

Maybe at a nicer place? 😀. Those montaditos looked like a stomach ache waiting to happen.

There is Chinatown with lots lots of different food options!

Lol unfortunately that wasn’t ranch. Some sort of mayo based dressing. Not sure what it is 😅

100 montaditos, is not Valencian, or Spanish food at all. Just to point it out. Low quality food. Mainly , you eat only a frozen bread.
