A quick guide showing you how to mount Dynafit bindings with nothing more than a power drill, ruler and felt tip pen Here's a template: www.wildsnow.com/backcountry-s...
Measuring the centre point with a tape measure from tip to tail NO!!!!!! NO!!!!! NO!!!!!!! Hold the skis together (base to base) . Slide a credit card down from the tip to where it stops and mark that spot. Then slide the card up from the tail to where it stops and mark that spot. The middle should be half way between these two marks. You are not measuring the middle of the ski - you are measuring the middle of the running surface. You can see the running surface by pressing the ski onto a flat surface. If you use a tape measure from tip to tail and mount the bindings on that centre line you will have a bit of a repair job when you find out the bindings are way off.
I've gonzoed binding mountings for years, usually remounting rock skis with old bindings Your mid point advice is gem and key to skier balance! Thanks!
Well that was pretty ghetto. When I'm mounting $500 bindings on an $800 pair of skis, I'd rather spend a bit of extra time with a paper template and get it perfect than just eyeball it. Also, wood glue is shit for waterproofing, you should always use a slow cure (24-72h) epoxy. A good epoxy isn't going to crack when the ski is flexed deeply and eventually let water in.
Thanks for taking your time and sharing your knowledge, very nice demonstration.
Many thanks for posting this, it was a big help!
Thanks for the video, saved me $75.
so is this center mounting?
this is a good video!
There seem to be different schools on glue but a slow cure epoxy is probably a good idea.
davidzof pretty much none of this is advisable. Maybe give it a retry?

You should try to drill your holes at 90 deg and clean the screws
You don't have to reverse the drill to pull out from the hole.
Nice correction... It's not English, but German, and it is therefore pronounced Fölkl (ö=o+e).
did he say vollakey? Its Vocal

Зарядить шуруповерт не судьба была? Видно, что не тянет.
Неаккуратный кошмар!!! Не хотел бы, чтобы мне такой устанавливал.
