Just finished mounting my G3 Ion 12's on a pair of Blizzards. I had to do it 'cause all the ski shops are closed due to Covid. This worked perfectly! Thanks for putting the video out. as an FYI one mistake I made (and thankfully caught) was marking the sole length in the wrong spot on the second template. Before putting them on the ski, I held both prepared templates up to the window over the top of one another to make sure they matched and caught the problem. The window trick worked great for aligning each half of the template as well as confirming they were the same length. Thanks!
Very useful video. I like your means of checking and re-checking accuracy. Your English is excellent. The instrument you use is called a "vernier calliper" and the plastic angle measurer is called a "protractor" and in your second video the thing you use to clean up the top of the hole is called a "countersink drill bit". Hope you get some good skiing this year.

To be pedantic it is actually a Set Square (With Protractor markings). I only mention it because I was searching Amazon for a protractor myself and they were all the usual semi-circle style which is of no use here... until I came across and ordered this: "Rotring Centro Large Geometry Set Square with Handle 23cm" :) But yes, a brilliant, careful & precise video!

The only question I have is at 11:52 it looks like you marked the 2nd half of the template at 295 sole length vs 305 which you did on the first one. I can see how this would be an easy mistake when you turned the template around for the camera. Did you catch this before drilling? I assume you want them both marked at your boot sole length (305 in your case) before taping the 2 halves together? Regardless, this is probably one of the best videos I've seen on mounting bindings. Thanks!
His set square is kinda cool, I think it's called a Geodreieck Protractor, used in Germany. Combines a square triangle, ruler and protractor in 1 tool. Seems those tools all sold separately here.

Lots of work requiring huge amount of time. Going to dealer's workshop at the expense of let's say 35,- Euro saves you time, energy and money (since time == money.) But you can't say I've done it by myself! Dealer's have some adjustable hard metal-templates which can be fixed upon the skis. They're way more accurate than your compiled and sticked papers.
Excellent tutorial. Mounted mi new bindings perfectly. Now I have an issue, drilled another pair of skis (went a little bit further), screwed long screws, so I tooked them off. Now i have the correct screws. Should I use the same wholes? Adding epoxy to it of course. Thks for your help
Question on Marker MRR's : I have a brand new Marker MRR EPS3 racing binding that I love (my 3rd one). If I am correct I heard use the Jester binding template. Is that correct or is there a separate/distinct template for the MRR? I see an "M-Series" template on that German template link but not sure if if is referring to MRR's or another M line that came later. Thanks in advance!

I recently bought a pair of used Rosignals w/ Salomon S9 Spheric bindings & Salomon 226mm boots...The bindings were mounted for an extremely large foot, possibly sized 13 -14 US (I'm size 10 US), so wanted to remount them myself. I measured and checked the boot sole length and found that I only needed to move the (front) toe binding back (toward heel binding), by about a half an inch... Measured, marked & drilled and got everything fairly precise, but then the boot Centerline doesn't quite meet up to the ski's centerline (off by about 1/8")...Is that a big deal, or enough to cause any problems, since it's not quite in the "sweet spot?" Thanks for any advice, or help anyone can lend!!
Or you can simply take it to the local shop, get it done by a professional using a jig, rather than freehanding on a $1,000 skis. Not to mention to get a release function test to make sure you won't blow up your knees.
This is not safe! As someone who has mounted thousands of bindings over years I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS!!!!! Go to a certified local ski shop and promote a local business. You are not saving a dime if you tear a ACL.

you are right, thats why you should always check if the "middle lines" of both skies are on the same hight, so i did not drill wrong holes ;)
The tool is called “Calipers.” What you have is a non-digital one. It is an amazing tool just like your video :)
He is referring to the metal jig guides you can buy, you clamp to your ski and use the guide holes to drill.
Tool in your right hand is a CALIPER, at least in English.
Tool in your left hand is protract.

Dynafit Radicals template is correct. Make sure you print at 100% size, and not "fit to page".

thats unprofessional. just use a second stripe of indexed paper instead of that stupid markings. accuracy could get up to 0.05mm!
