This isn’t a review if they paid you or you get paid when people use a link to buy it.
@@Bigbossman12624Cope
@@Bigbossman12624I don’t get paid from this link. They sent me three of them. Destroyed one, so I technically guess payment was 2 of them to keep?
@@GoldenWebb did you disclose that? So why did you create a link for this?
Part of the agreement to get 3 of them. I have to put a link in the description. I guess it’s to judge how many people buy one from my review.
Solid review! Appreciate the time and effort for this 👍🏼
I love olight, it’s survived just as long as my streamlight and it’s brighter for a cheaper price. Tired of people not giving new brands a chance just because it’s not the name brand from the 80’s. Those brands were new at one point too. Now they rest on their laurels overcharging by 300% just because they’re the name brand.
I’ve had luck with all of my olight products
Just dont be poor
@@obeekrow7295okay I'll stop hetting Starbucks and eating avocado toast their big spender. LOL
I hate olight. I had several of their lights back in the day, and every one of the magnetic Chargers failed one by one. Is there a gimmick company and I never would expect them to have a decent red dot. Turns out it was garbage.
The problem with Olight is the Olight fanboys. This sight is garbage yet the fanboys think it's great. They will never admit a product is junk because it says Olight. Most are light collectors, I could make a light that last forever sitting on a shelf. Wurkos and Sofirn lights are just as good at half the price, but they don't have fancy colors or collector series. Each to their own, but in my opinion, you would be foolish to buy this optic over a Holosun.
Who would you send a specialist slide to trust cuttin for rmr cc..? Carry mine iwb appendix in a $30 suede galco with 155gr extreme defenders…200gr underwood and my 200gr xtp’s…have some mean 180s also but all of those are on full send….
Great video! Thank you.
Thank you brother!
I think I'll be buying one for my 10/22, not every sight needs to be military grade drop a bomb on it type RMR. I think a low profile big window red dot with relative durability and really cool charging method is sick for guns I don't take to the range super often. Especially since I can just keep the hood in the bag and if the battery is dead have it charge while I shoot my handguns or something.
Will def be sticking to holosun for the carry gun tho
My biggest issue with Olight is their use of proprietary rechargeable batteries. I need/want to be able to swap out batteries when the light/optic goes dead not wait for it to charge.
I understand that. That’s another concern I have
They’re releasing a new rifle light that will charge and take batteries if you don’t want to wait for the charge, The Odin S I believe.
@@Gojeto346that’s interesting
It’s got a 70k hour battery life, just keep it topped off when you’re sleeping if you’re that concerned.
And when the battery died for the final time?
Great review! How do you like VOTATU PMD 505? I bought it. Still waiting.
It’s alright. I haven’t t done much research into them
Olight makes high quality lights. No doubt thier optics are gonna be excellent. Im definitely gonna pick this up.
Long time no see Mr Chow!
I always watch tout videos brother
They make trash
LOL, you’re on crack. Everything they make is junk incoming this sight.
What?? Have you actually owned any of them? They are garbage
It looks like you're one of the first video to release any kind of "torture" testing. That's what I'm waiting for is more of that. The impact rating on these is only 1 meter so you basically doubled that and it still performed.
I don’t understand the 1 meter drop. If someone is going to be dropping this gun more then likely it will be from their eye, which is 6 foot for me where I’m 6’2” in hight. All manufacturers need to make sure it at least can handle a 6 foot drop from a gun. I’ve seen a lot of people drop them from 3 foot not mounted and be happy. That just doesn’t make much sense to me to be honest.
Desk Pop just dropped their review, two of these did not fare well at all.
Look up desktop video
@@TNunez17 same with overton windex
Was it still able to charge after the two drops? This looks to be the cheapest pistol red dot that I know of besides the hex dragonfly (I own a dragonfly on my Springfield xdm and it seems to be pretty durable and holds zero so far)
It was, and it’s still on the Arex right now
Ceylee makes a couple of good ones that are cheaper than the Osight
I have a baldr mini it stopped holding a charge within a year i only use streamlight or surefire now
Did you send it in?
@@GoldenWebb unfortunately no it's tucked away in storage and as others have stated their proprietary batteries are ultimately what's turned me away from them as a brand plus the fact that I don't want to have to send something off for warranty work I understand it's lifetime but I need something I can count on because I also own an old school warrior flashlight that just quit on me within about 3 years granted I beat the hell outta the thing but I've got older g2x surefires that are almost 15 years old that have seen way more abuse and still work flawlessly
@@yeshua1176 dude lifetime warranty lol I have o lights for five years some
I’ve never had to even charge (don’t use much) but still anytime I pick it up it’ll work. Every company has qc issues idc what you pay I have SUREFIRE EOTECH they all will have issues in small quantities. Use the warranty call them email them. They will handle
Your issues. Stop falling for brand names being the best sometimes that may be the case but not always. I assure you a Gucci shirt is the same as a champion shirt. End of the day buy whatever you want but every company will have issues here and there it’s how they handle these issues that matters.
I just installed mine on my Shadow MR920 and so far seem really nice. I did notice that one of the screws is not stopping when tightening so I’m wonder if that’s a me error or screw error.
Is the screw stripped?
Yikes
Does it have shake awake ? Do you have to turn on the optic each time you want to use it ?
Yessir it does, and it also turns itself off every 10 minutes without motion
Desk Pop just dropped their review, two of these did not fare well at all.
No they didn’t!
OvertonWindex reviewed it and it broke before he started lol. Wouldn't hold place either.
What about the vertical line of distortion which cuts 1/3 of the screen horizontally? I have seen other reviews mention this issue.
I haven’t particularly seen it in mine
@@GoldenWebb this is good news. Thank You for responding. That’s a like and subscribe Brother.
@@charlesrobillard190 i appreciate that my friend! Welcome to the channel!
You can always buy those UV light chargers for solar watches for this too
😎I would wear eye pros, especially when shooting an optic with cracked glass.
It can throw glass shards back at your face if the window breaks.
I have watched a review that gives the contrary result. That gentleman was racked his gun by hitting the optic on his holster, and the Osight lost it's zero. Anyway, I have placed my order and going to find out by myself.
Watched that one as well. Not sure what happened. All I can go by is what I seen with my test
Who’s review? I’d like to check it out.
@@RidgeRunner88desk pop
Glock 17l gen 5 review soon??
We should be getting one soon brother
Good review, but that thing is huge! I can’t imagine that for EDC. It’s like someone mounted a TV to the top of the pistol.
Hahah tv or a garage!
I think it'll look just right on top of my G20😂
Honestly really not a bad review. I think olight is spot on with the competition or hobbyist shooter. But being able to take a couple of drops is important. Honestly. Not bad.
I appreciate it brother!
It is when it's priced the same as a proven optic like Holosun.
Still concerned after watching desk pops video nonetheless good video, I belive olight had some talk about switching the charging cables to usb-c for future lights.
I am as well. Glad mine didn’t fail that easy. Took a beating and still walked away!
I placed a order and a hour later seen Desk Pop's review and canceled my order 😂. Cylee wolf 2 instead
I understand that
A little help for you, not being snarky:
It’s Arex, not Apex. And it’s pronounced R-X even thought everyone on UA-cam says Ay-Rex. The CEO himself says Ar-Ex. I have a Delta X Gen 2 and love it. Excellent pistol that so few know about.
I meant Arex if I ever said it as apex. I also have a strong southern dialog. I thought I’ve always said Aye-Rex
@@GoldenWebb I totally get this, I'm from Texas... if we want anyone to take us SERIOUSLY we have to find the common tongue so we are clear and precise.. I've seen too many VERY intelligent people discredited because of their accent. The ability to adapt is critical for communication.
Looks Like it Passed to Me 👍
Me as well!
It’s huge! Looks like a house window on your pistol.
Or a garage lol
The one and only time i used my home defense Olight valkyrie pl3r i put 200 rounds through and it locked on so bad i had to hammer it off. I trust olight for emergency only last resort.
At least it wasn’t coming off! Haha
most definitely. I still have it on some nights for home defense. But if I carry with a light I use my tlr 7a
The one that I have looks like a vertical squiggly line due to my severe astigmatism.. green actually seems to work better for me, but they sent me a red one.. I haven’t had a chance to test it much because I don’t have a pistol with an RMR footprint and they did not include the rail out for me so I can put it on a rifle or shotgun. I’m seeing if they will send me the mount, I’m not sure if there might possibly be issues with the one I have because I’ve had others tell me it’s not a crisp dot it’s kind of a jagged starburst but honestly, I can’t tell because my vision so bad even with my glasses on it still looks pretty bad…
I also have an astigmatism and it actually looked crisper than most dots I’ve had. My go to dot is the Trijicon RMR though. This will be a nice plinker sight but I won’t be running it as a regular concealed pistol sight until we see how it holds up over time
@@GoldenWebb sounds good yeah I could’ve possibly got a lemon but my astigmatism in my dominant eye is pretty bad all I’m seeing is a red vertical-ish line
@@DjRayRay09 I’d send it back then and get another for comparison
@@GoldenWebb yeah I didn’t feel like going through the hassle. They sent it to me for free to give them feedback about it unfortunately I’ve already had to send back two different weapon lights for replacement and one of them I had to send back twice so either I have serious bad luck or I have to question QC at this point 😬 to be honest it kind of bums me out because I really like the products especially the Baldr Pro R (currently on the 3rd one but keeping my fingers crossed) the issues have all been the same, they just quit charging in less than two months time each
One very easy way to tell how clear your dot is if you have astigmatism is to take a photo of it through your cellphone or for that matter just look at the dot through your cell phone camera.
The first Red Dot I ever bought was starry on me so I went to take a photo for a return and it came out perfectly crisp and clear..
Thankfully Green dots seem to work much better for me.
Did he specify the footprint for the osight?
RMR footprint!
Oh God🤦
Loll
If it's anything like the WML then it won't hold a charge after 5 to 6 months 😂 or maybe it will just die due to recoil like my light from them did olight is a fucking joke
I’ve had pretty good luck out of their lights so far
They have a Lifetime Warranty
@tomjefferson2024 they do
@@tomjefferson2024 still dog shit
@@GoldenWebbhe’s likely someone who has never owned an Olight himself.
😮😮😮
Thank you for viewing my friend! Welcome to the channel!
Design wise olight is revolutionary, but on this red dot they dropped the ball big time when it comes to build quality. I prefer saving the extra $200 and getting a RMR on sale.
Proprietary built in rechargeable lithium battery….no thanks, that’s gonna inevitably fail at the worst possible time
That’s a good point. I wish the battery was able to be replaced as well
O-nope
Nice cover photo
That would be a six shot group.
Most Red Dot Sights would Not Take the 6 foot Drop and Survive and Hold Zero!
It’s mixed. From what I can see the new Trijicon RMR HD will take a beating
Yes, but SRO ISN'T designed for that.... cost isn't the issue. All of the parts are made in China. This window is SRO level. Fair comparison is within the same optic size range
That’s correct, in comparison, the SRO wouldn’t have made it on the 6 foot drop test
There’s no way I would rely on this olight optic. They are trash
I understand, but it held up decent for me
No eye pro? That’s just inexperience and unsafe
We shoot from mainly 30-40 yards back on steel, and the pass through target is safe
Olight sucks. Get a 50 dollar 500 lumen streamlight protac or 100 dollar 1000 lumen. I edc the 1000 lumen at work and have dropped it off a tanker truck onto concrete at least once a week for 5 years and even 8 stories onto gravel. Still works. I edc the 500 lumen while not at work and have put it through its paces. Ive owned 2 o lights and they break after falling from table height.
You can return them, they have lifetime warranty’s. Also, i understand your frustration. I’d be mad as well. I’ve had good luck out of all of mine
@@GoldenWebb I don't have a receipt though
@@Swishersweetcigarilo that doesn’t matter
@@GoldenWebb Never understood the warranty argument when judging a product. A lifetime warranty sounds great, it's a great selling point, but what good is a product to you if it's always in the mail?
