UPDATE!! To address a few of the most common questions I’ve gotten asked so far: “Do I have to separately buy the new version of the game if I already paid for early access?” - no. All you need to do is update the game and you’ll have 1.0. “Is the stats menu available on console too?” - yes. Everything you saw in this video is on all platforms. “The game is giving me a fatal error after updating” - same thing was happening to me, and I believe it was related to your mods. What I did was to fix was alter the ‘SessionGame’ folder (rename it), and then verify integrity of game files through Steam, and it should work fine. “Tre flip aren’t working” - not sure if it’s a bug, or I just don’t understand quick shuvs, but by turning off quick shuvs, I was able to do tre flips and all the other tricks that weren’t working. Remember, this is a SIM. In my completely 100% honest opinion, it is BY FAR the closest you’ll get to real skateboarding in a video game without mods. You WILL get mad, you WILL probably hate it at first, and you WON’T be good at it right away. It took me months to not hate this game and now I love it 😂 This is 1.0, not the final version (or even close, I’ve been told). There will be bugs, there will be issues, but it’s a hell of a foundation. If Session plays their cards right with consistent updates, listening to the community, etc, it will be absolutely amazing, and in my opinion, it’s already well on its way. I’ll continue going though the comments on this video and doing my best to answer any questions.
I worked out tre flip what you want to do is position the left analog down and a bit to the left (this is the goofy stance way) and do the scoop rotation making sure you hold the analog down when you're scooping do the scoop first and flick the kick flip after if that makes sense. It definitely takes a bit of getting used to for sure
So to put it "scientifically" there are two ways to trigger pops in Session. The first way is flicking and the second way is releasing after scooping (quick shuv). What this is supposed to emulate is IRL, if you push down on the tail, nothing happens till you get your front foot out of the way. For treflips, once you input the scoop, the flick to the side is what actually triggers the trick. If you are quick shuving then you are releasing the back foot before you input the flick. If you are varial flipping, you aren't scooping enough (Setting dependent). The Session community is full of super nice and helpful people who just want everyone to enjoy our game so just ask away and we'll try to help as many of y'all as possible.

As a developer myself and a self taught coder this is an extremely difficult task to make a video game any kind of game for that matter but to have a game like this with all the details hats off to the developers awesome job!!!!!
It's not as polished of an update as i was hoping (bugs with transition, bounce glitch isn't entirely fixed, other small gripes) but this is GAMECHANGING ;)
Yeah I think it’s a super solid foundation to build off of. As long as they keep putting out consistent updates and bug fixes, I think it’ll be amazing

As a first time Session player as of this morning (literally waited until the countdown on my PS5 reached 0, started playing the first second I could), and as a spectator since 2019, I was a bit afraid of how the game would actually feel once I got to play it, given that I put hundreds of hours into modded SXL on PC, and I am sooooo happy to say that all of my worries were so unwarranted. I mean there are some minor issues, such as bugs and transitions are quite tough to make look good, but otherwise I feel like Crea-ture studios and Nacon reached a huge milestone with 1.0. Absolutely in love. Honestly, good job, keep this up!
SkaterxL has soo much potential. Sucks they stop adding maps on console. When they added MP it was a gamechanger just needed to add modes like game of skate
As a avid skater xl fan for the last 2ish years, I think this update is enough for me to buy session as well, im glad to hear it feels amazing lmao makes me wanna get it more
also switched from SXL to session, SXL gameplay felt pretty soulless after a while even with all necessary mods. I hade a good time but it's just really shallow gameplay, whereas session has the real feeling of boarding down way better. Only thing SXL does a lot better is landing spins into a slide to mini-correct your direction, that's just super stylish and something i can't do in session

All I see is session hype but everytime I either play it or watch gameplay the characters look stiff as a hell. There’s like no style in a characters skating. Tricks look rigid… if that makes sense

Itd be so dope if like they added in an update that when you consecutively grind rails and ledges and such that they slowly look like wax is on them or the paint chipping off. Its so simple but would add more depth in filming clips.

it is hard for me to switch from sxl to Session, with how great the modding community has been for sxl. But from this video it looks great, and with the devs sticking with the game for future improvement, is enough for me to try it out.
For some reason I was super good at the pre release version of Session but since I updated it it’s MUCH MUCH harder to land in a grind and I LOOOOVE it
I just bought this. I think the aspect of skateboarding games that need to happen is POV perspective. Because as skateboarders, our perspective of ourselves on the board isn’t ever going to be 3rd person. So a skateboarding game should truly reflect the POV aspect of Skateboarding. It certainly would give people who don’t skate a real perspective of what skaters see when they jump down stairs, handrails, or even just flat ground skating itself.
I haven't been able to play this yet until the 1.0 release. I've been a big fan of the Tony Hawk games and Skate over the years, and Session is growing on me quick. The controls are weird, but it doesn't take long to get used to them. My only real gripe honestly is animations, or lack of many of them. I love the idea of adding in flat land tricks, something the Skate games never attempted. I like where this game is going and I'll be putting a ton of hours into it.
Garrett, have you tried it/can you try it on Steam Deck and tell us how it runs now with 1.0 version? Since the game should be better optimized, does it run properly now? I'm deciding if I will buy the Deck and this game is pretty much the reason I'd buy it. Thanks for any info!

I turned off quick shuvs and it made all my flip tricks feel better. Some people like quick shuvs, but I don’t really use them so I turned them off and the inputs feel way better

It took me at least (rough estimate) an hour maybe slightly more to learn tre flips on here when I finally worked it out I swear I felt as chuffed as I did when I first landed a kick flip irl 😅
Skater xl looked so promising i bought the 1.0 and now they don’t even care about the game and session looks better and it’s starting to feel better too. I made a bad choice with skater xl.

Session is a hard game and fairly different from Skater XL from a game mechanics perspective. Our community is full of smart and helpful people who just want as many of you to enjoy our game. For all you newcomers from 1.0, ask away and we'll try to help as many of you as we can.
@@Riku_michael If you mean Manual Catch then yeah, Session has that. The catch input is different though. In Session, to catch you flick the stick of the foot you want to catch with towards the middle of the board. This is because in Session, Up and Down on the sticks correspond to the placement of pressure on the board.
This just makes me more angry at easy day they fucked up so hard cause at the end of the day I still think skater xl has better controls and physics but they aren’t putting any work into keeping this game alive
Something I noticed . Atleast on ps5 , when I go to my marker aftr a failed trick i will bug out and get stuck and can’t move unless I get off my skateboard or press the marker again .

Just came back to the video for this, I'm getting the UE4Session game crash message... super annoying. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, still happening.
That was my problem at first too. I put my truck tightness really high until I started getting used to it, and then I slowly loosened them until it felt good
They are currently without an animator. Their animator left awhile ago and they haven’t hired anyone yet. So no new animations just yet. But updates will be coming. So you never know.

Been playing all day! Trying to get use to the trigger controlled turning. So far that's the only thing I don't like, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Although it would be dope to have stick control turning
Before I got the game when it first released on Xbox i think 2019 i would just imagine using the controls in my head like using the triggers to turn and sticks to do tricks and on release day it was so easy for me to play so I'd recommend just thinking about it and getting it in your head and see if that works, if it doesn't im sorry😭
I can literally barely catch my tricks when I’m trying to trick into a grind or off stairs 😭 I have manual catch on cause I don’t want to just have the game do everything for me

If you go to the flip trick setting and pit scoop input mode to small you can do 360 flips easy like before the update

For anyone having input problems with tre and other 3 flip variations go to your settings and turn off quick shuvs. Its working way better for me now

Being able to do the lip tricks alone is game changing. Yeah, there's still some fine tuning to be done but holy hell this is fucking dope.

It actually runs great. Just need to tweak settings a bit… was able to get it loaded with some mods too 🤙🏽

That was my problem at first too. I put my truck tightness really high until I started getting used to it, and then I slowly loosened them until it felt good

i cant; seem to low pop on xbox. i can do a smaller ollie but it doesn't register as a low pop on the trick display. anyone else have this issue?

Was really expecting them to add animations when you get on board.
They are currently without an animator. Their animator left awhile ago and they haven’t hired anyone yet. So no new animations just yet. But updates will be coming. So you never know.

Been playing all day! Trying to get use to the trigger controlled turning. So far that's the only thing I don't like, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Although it would be dope to have stick control turning
Thats the problem i had but it does get easier,except if i go back to skate now i forget to turn with sticks🤣
Before I got the game when it first released on Xbox i think 2019 i would just imagine using the controls in my head like using the triggers to turn and sticks to do tricks and on release day it was so easy for me to play so I'd recommend just thinking about it and getting it in your head and see if that works, if it doesn't im sorry😭

One thing that i noticed in the new 1.0 release is how loose his arms are while pushing... I personly dont like it and it takes me a bit out of the immersion, like i dont know anyone who skates with his arms like that hahaha. Do love the rest of the update tho!

Bought session as a game preview on Xbox twoish years ago. Anyone know where I need to go to buy the 15$ upgrade pack on Xbox store? Was honestly expecting some kind of pop up when I first loaded into it pushing me to buy the upgrade, but didn't see anything.
It's listed as dlc for session in the Microsoft store as the warm up pack
