The original Aladdin is one of the most beloved Disney movies of all time. So it was no surprise that in the new trend of remaking all their classics, the house of mouse were quick to bring this one to live action as well. The movie raises a lot of questions-- like was there any other reason to make it than cashing in on nostalgia? What happened to the big cobra climax? Why is Jasmine’s big song only happening for herself? Why does the movie randomly speed up and slow down a few times?

They could have also put their painting skills into the MacGuffin, but it's revealed that they were actually selfish bastards and didn't want anyone copying their paintings.

In fairness, he was pretty much reduced to a forgettable side character in this.

Jafar's casting is why I decided to not even give this remake a chance. Just, no.
I like that they made Jafar less obviously and ludicrously evil. But the actor playing Jafar just has no "presence" whatsoever. If they had found someone who brought some understated gravitas, then the softer, more subtle Jafar angle would have worked.
I loved the first minute monologue, amazing!!
I really didn't want to see this movie, so I watched this just to make sure.
I'm sold. I don't need to see this.
Yeah, me neither. But I went with some friends that wanted to and I don't regret it. It does have these flaws like every other movie but I wouldn't watch any movies if I cared about this. I guess what I'm saying is that you're not supposed to take these movies too seriously. It's a Disney movie about a genie after all

Just use the Aladdin 2, Aladdin show, and kingdom hearts voice actor.
Aladdin Jafar’s Revenge didn’t have Robin Williams in it.
Problem is Will Smith could've pulled it off. But writers/directors/producers/whoever didn't want Genie in the movie, they wanted Will Smith. So he does barely any antics, looks like blue Will Smith 10% of the time and like regular Will Smith the rest of the time, because gotta cash in on that star power.
