- The Core Tackle Ozark Rig is a unique rig. It has a special gliding action that generates bites. I got on a decent top water bite but it went away. After trying a few other baits I picked up the Ozark Rig and started getting some bites. After committing to bluffs and main lake rock, a pattern developed. Here's how the day went.

I like the action of that Ozark Rig, very unique, and it gets bit. That hot weather had the Finster seeking the shade.

Good video Gabe. I had the same problem with my old outboard. I changed out fuel lines, spark plugs, adjusted the governor with no changes. It ended up being the magneto. That was my first outboard. 1972 Mercury 9.8hp.
I gets frustrating trying to troubleshoot. Luckily my local motor repair shop figured it out n got me lined out.
I reckon I’m gonna have to pick of few of those up

Great video! Check to make sure your tank is venting. Sounds like you have a bad diaphragm in your carburetor. It’s works as your fuel pump when you’re running except it works off vacuum.

Had a similar problem with a 2005 25hp Merc. It ended up being the fuel pump push rod. The tiny rod that pushes the diaphram in the fuel pump went missing? Had a new pump installed. The missing pin turned up in the oil reservoir? Weird. The new pump lasted many years til I sold the boat. Good luck.

I ordered 2 packs of the Ozark rig hooks from Core tackle and used THM10 and got the discount. I have a plastic box full of the old Strike King Wild Thang tube creature baits from 2001. The bait has a hard nose with a hollow body and looks similar to the one you are using. Kevin VanDam won the Bass Master Classic in 2001 with that bait, I'll see if I can catch anything with it? He might of shoved a plastic worm into the back of the bait, not sure? Love your video's.

Love the videos of the home lake! Looks like there was an algae bloom going. You were talking about all the boats in the lot. Have you seen the number of tournaments that are scheduled for this year? Likely 2-3 times more than prior years. Puts a lot of pressure on that size lake and makes it really hard for us loners to get in and find a spot to park and fish. Have several of the Ozark rigs in both sizes. Put a comment in Matt's repost of this video that I would love to see you do one on Core's Wacky Shot with LVS footage.

Great video, Gabe. Some good quality fish in there. I discovered last year that a slow falling gliding bait. The postpone is very effective. Gonna have to try that terminal from Tackle out.

How would you compare the old Falcon USA rods to the Virtus rods? I heard that it’s pretty comparable
Yes comparable in actions. I have several American Falcon Cara's. The Red Diamond Virtus is more sensitive and the Blue Diamond is comparable to the USA Cara. The Virtus are Very light and well balanced.
