Hate it or love it to me when I think of American Muscle the car is 70 chevelle to be exact! Grew up with mustangs but good lord do I love 70 chevelles. All time dream car. Can’t get anymore muscle than a 70 velle.
I like how he kept everything original. Specially interior. I’ve a 68 Buick Skylark frame off and kept everything OG but sometimes it’s tempting to go full restomod.

Damn glad to see my boy Tony’s wheel company getting some recognition! He makes some insanely bad ass custom forged wheels that will go head to head with any forged wheel company

👍🏻Like #139. Fernando has a sweet ride here, one that his son may one day inherit. Love the color and that it's an original interior and numbers matching car. Fun, fun, fun!
Yea, I dont know about 68/69 but 70-72 can fit a 305 without mini tubs. You have to get the rim backspacing spot on though and maybe trim some of the metal from the outer wheel well lip as some are pretty wide.
I fit 295's on the back of my 70 and it's a pretty tight fit. There's maybe a half inch gap from the wheel well lip to the tire. Almost went 305's myself but don't think they would've fit with my wheel backspacing
Awesome, seeing what you did with the car. This was my dad's car and was in the family for years. He was the previous owner. Take care of her bro bro. .. we are brothers now. ... lol
That is a DAMN cool car! I love everything about it! I love that it still has the 396 in it and a pretty much stock interior. As always Shawn, you and your team put out some great videos!
Very good . I'd probably make the same upgrades. If I had an original matching 70 - L6 I'd probably keep it a museum piece but this is a sweet driving badass car.
The reason you are starting to like that style of car is because, like me, you are getting old. But don't sweat it. And I agree with you on the power subject also. Like Jay Leno says "The real fun is between 40 and 120mph." You don't need 1000hp to raise hell and have fun.🤘🏁💯
8:25 awesome ASMR! I'm a pro detailer and I'm always peeling that fugly plastic off of stereos, kick panel plates, etc. The engineers works so hard to develop these items and people just leave the plastic on it. Make it make sense LOL BTW, awesome Chevelle 🔥
13:44 money shot shifting. The fastback future engineer, the 2nd gen. Father and son radical Firebird with the suspension beyond Cantilever where pops worked for a race team. Izzy’s truck, the Torino and now the holy grail 70 Chevelle BBC manual music brakes and suspension. That’s a heck of a cruiser. Air conditioning would make it the Chevy on top 🍒 Pure bliss
I love that he kept the classic look of the car with chrome, body side moldings and paint scheme. And a warmed over BBC under the hood! The build of the car is very close to how I would mod a classic muscle car. The only change I would make would be to ditch the skinny 35 profile tires. They look cool but in a cruiser like this they make the ride too harsh for my tastes. And a Borgeson power steering box would be a perfect mod to tighten up the steering feel.
If this were mine, I wouldn't do a damn thing else to it. Well I would add the original factory steering wheel from 1970. But that's it. Plenty enough power! Its for cruising, not abusing. With 500 hp, Its got all the get up and go I need. Sounds amazing.
"Everything on here is original. You got the 5 speed on there. It was an automatic car, previous owner did the conversion to go to manual" lol All jokes aside, this is an amazing, beautiful car.
Thats my dream shit right there! 70's Chevelle SS i laugh hard because when you guys are just cruising and that engine sound got like that monke with a sony music player on hes hands...
If you guys ever want to come out and film in NJ we have 2 restomod 70 Chevelles that went with a OEM + looks like people do with German cars. One with a 572 and the other with a custom small block. 😊
The moment I saw this car on IG I knew I couldn’t wait to see this video. I love me some Chevelles
Yup, I saw it on IG and saved the clip knowing that I had to watch it.

I mean mustangs in the literal sense ain't muscle so that makes sense
70 Chevelle is definitely my favorite
A lot of cars wear the wide twin stripes, but I always felt the Chevelle wears them the best.
I think the 60s Shelby Gt350 is a close tie, but I very much agree. I always adored the Tuxedo Black Paint with White Stripes on the Chevelle.
🫡
500hp at the crank with a stick is all anyone needs for a good time in a classic muscle car
Totally agree
More than enough
This example of a KISS method build is basically perfect... you could reach further in any direction, but at what cost? You got all the bases covered.
I'm daily driving my '72 big block 4 speed car right now...always get good reactions from people...will never buy a new ride always the classics
I daily a 66 chevelle and a 71 camaro so many people love to come up and tell me the stories they have when they had a muscle car its always nice
I like how he kept everything original. Specially interior. I’ve a 68 Buick Skylark frame off and kept everything OG but sometimes it’s tempting to go full restomod.
Mad Respect for Fernando
Finally, a real chevelle. Those cars are meant to have big blocks, not a played out LS swap
LS isn’t played out best platform out there and there not cheap if your going big money LS like the LS3 or LS7
The LS7 is the worst platform you can use for high horsepower builds.
Best? For what? That's not close to true if you're seeking max power.

love it! kept it real and not undrivable. kudos to Fernando! torch is in great hands! Plus his son is next in line, so cool. Thanks AtLA
As a non-american, when I hear "American muscle car" two cars spring to mind - the Chavelle and Dodge Charger. Great video!
Yep. Both pure muscle
Now THAT'S how you start a video. 💨🏁
